Schwalbe Almotion Tubeless (Race Guard) Tires 700x50c on a 25mm inner diameter DT-SWISS E-512 rims on DT-Swiss 350 hubs.
I chose these rims for their rigidity and ability to handle heavy loads and torque. Yes they are little heavier than other rims, most of that is due to thicker material around the spoke nipples to prevent cracking.
I've had some experiences in the past with rims designed for gravel and mountain biking which are find unloaded but underload they flexed too much and spokes and nipples were breaking left and right, specifically on the rear.
I'm an emergency, during the inventory fallout of the pandemic I had purchased a replacement wheel from DT Swiss, an HE1800 complete rear wheel with bladed race spokes, on one of their low end pawl style hubs. That wheel gave me zero problems, and is still in great shape, so it's now a backup tour wheel.
And these Almotion tires are what you want if you want Marathon Plus reliability but Tubeless.
I'm writing all this because I know there are people wondering what wheels to get for touring. The DT Swiss rims designed for E-bikes I think are perfect if your fully loaded, four panniers and then some, and the terrain is evenly split between dirt / gravel and road, with some cobble stone mixed in.
