I have a small collection I've been looking to complete for some time but there are some very elusive and rare bikes I have yet to find… My area of interest is Univega road bikes from 1980-1985, I currently have two out of the four rarest ones (1985 Ital Sport and Super Special) but need the "Super Light" and the "Aero". These were all their top of the line road bikes for various years (except for Ital sport, which was sport/leisure), and produced in very small numbers.
1: The "Super Light" steel frame version (Known colors: Deep blue and white)
From what limited information I can find online and in catalogs the "Super Light" (not the later "Superlight" aluminum framed bikes 1986 and on) was produced in very small quantities from 1980-1984 There is only one picture I can find that exists of this bike (83 super light) from a reddit user I have been unable to contact and who posted a picture of it looking for bike tire recommendations. 2: The "Aero" (Known colors: Red frame with blue-heavy graphics and some white)
Only known to be a 1984 model but possibly produced a year or two prior as well (no catalogs available 81-83). Manufactured in very small quantities for the public, more were likely given to sponsored teams (if there were any).
3: The "Super Special" (Known colors: Deep blue)
The super special (not the "super speciale" of earlier Italvega years) as far as I know was only produced in 1985 although it is possible that it was produced in 81, 82, or 83. I have only seen two and have one, both colored deep blue.
I will buy any of the three bikes listed in any condition and pay to have it shipped, also if any additional info, pictures, or 81-83 catalogs are located please let me know! The search for years has been fruitless so figured I would ask here, maybe one of you rides one!
