Picked this beautiful 1987 Diamond Back Apex up a few weeks ago for free in exchange for some volunteer hours at the bike co-op. I’ve proceeded to slap on as much xbiking shibboleth as possible with some tanwall Billy Bonkers, some splashy anodized parts, a frunk, and some sunrise bars which took it from not comfy and hard to stop to absurdly fun to ride. 2nd pic was how it looked a few weeks ago. Still pondering internal dropper routing and disc brakes… 🤡
