This is my first bike meant for just riding, and I love it. I’m a big road and mountain biker, but wanted something cheaper for a daily commute. Living off-campus for the last 2 years and have a 15 minute bike commute.
Gonna be honest, I’m a little concerned about safety, but I ride on the road all the time and I’m sure I’ll be fine. I feel like the whole “disc brakes are so much better” thing is a bit overblown as well. I’ve been riding with disc brakes for years and these v brakes are certainly not bad at all.
This is also my first time handling a belt drive, and I’m very impressed with it. I had to true the back wheel and getting it off was a bit of a hassle with the break in the frame, but not bad for something I shouldn’t need to be doing very often.
Upgrades:
-Milk crate I found by the dumpster of the restaurant I work at.
-Pedals needed taken apart, loosened and lubed. Out of the box they wouldn’t spin freely
-I’d like to get new handles at some point, not a big fan of the bar wrap they used
-winter tires and fenders would be nice to get, just waiting to see how often I even commute
