A man has been jailed for 12 years following a fatal crash involving a police pursuit through a maize field.

A stolen Land Rover crashed into a Nissan Juke at Earsham in Norfolk on 13 August, killing Aisatou Mballow-Baldeh, 28, from Lowestoft in Suffolk.

Marcin Jablonski, 44, tried to escape from police through the field before driving back on to the A143 and hitting the other car.

He admitted causing death by dangerous driving and other offences.

Also appearing at Norwich Crown Court was his son, Thomaz Urbaniak.

The 26-year-old, from Newmarket, was a passenger in the stolen car at the time of the crash and was jailed for two years after admitting aggravated vehicle taking and burglary of a commercial premises.

  1. At some point the police need to realise they are not correctly equipped and need to disengage to protect the public from these drivers that will do anything to escape

  2. these people are on a different level, no respect for others or the law and now tax payers will foot the bill to feed him – deport the lot of them they're liabilities

  3. Other Countries he'd get at least 50 to 100 years for that, UK has to do the same, punishment has to be harsh, prisons with no television or radios. Please change these weak laws that favor criminals.

  4. They really need to address the drink driving laws that end up in serious injuries and fatalities. Very tired also of certain groups of people assoicated with these crimes being kept in the country when they could be deported back.
