I recently got back into cycling and picked up the Ozark Trail G1 Explorer from Walmart (b/c of the 90 day return policy). I enjoy it, but it’s finicky with the chain rub and shifting despite adjustments. I’ve debating taking it to the LBS for a tune up or upgrading parts, but hard to justify $100 for a tune-up or upgrading parts vs looking at a better bike.
My main focus is road, with maybe light gravel and I see REI has the Adv 2.1 in my size on clearance for $780, which also gives you a year of free maintenance plus discounts on other work as a member (and a 1 year return policy). I also see that Decathlon has the GRVL 120 on sale for $700, but obviously would have to pay for maintenance or do it myself.
Thoughts on which is a better bike and is the Adv 2.1 @$780 a good deal? (Also, it’s hard to find bikes at 5’2” with a 28” inseam for me). Thanks!
