Rochdale’s new MP is booed by constituents demanding justice, undermining appeals to ‘democracy’. Peripheral London journalist Waugh narrowly beat George Galloway under contested circumstances. The Galloway team’s attempts to ‘untie knots of corruption and negligence’ risk being undermined by Labour in a return to Rochdale’s steady decline.

I'm confused. What is this video actually trying to say?
That Waugh is a bad appointment? That Galloway would have been better? Something else?
Haunting & Sad
Id opine it's more an Art film expressing the decay & hopelessness of some of our once thriving urban town's
The rich opened the flood gates because it drives asset prices sky high while they can pick and choose where to live.
blame tory voters.
Considering Labour only got 35 percent of the total votes, no that's not democracy.
when 40% of people eligible to vote in the UK don't bother to vote, is that democracy. the turn out in 2001 was 59%, 2024 was 60%, lowest figures since 1918, if you want a say, maybe vote, that's how it works, but don't sit on your arse and complain about it.
No, booed by Workers Party thugs more like
Labour hierarchy doesn't give a dam about areas like Rochdale. At least people know the Tories wouldn't give the working class a chance, but Labour is worse, they say they care about ordinary folk. Bollocks!
I voted for Reform UK & joined as a member with a £100-00 donation. Pandoras box has been opened, God help us all with Labour in power!!!! I am a 50 year old British man who spent 7 years in the forces for his country. I will be cutting my working hours down to the bare min ( self -employed own Business ) as one will not be giving his taxes to the labour party to then give it to extreme Islamists, instead i will be donating £100-00 each month to Reform UK. Am so glad our Boss is not around to see this. R.I.P XXX
Hard for me to understand why a failing place like Rochdale would go on voting for the same people that have brought it to it's knees.
Its like the abused wife …constantly forgiving her husband…only to be abused over and over again. Then one day she's dead!
The Tories levelling up didn't work then?
How? Labour have not been in charge of the poverty thing for 14 years. More Tory Tears LOL, I LOVE THIS.
"Is this a democracy" complains Waugh. When a party gets 14% of the vote and gets only 5 seats whilst another party gets 12% of the votes yet get 71 seats in Parliament, then No, its not really a democracy at all is it.
If rochdale is that bad (and Im sure it is in more ways than one), then why oh why did you vote in a Labour candidate? Did you not learn of what happened when Khan was re elected as the London mayor? Sorry to say you dont get my sympathy, you had the chance of change real change and blew it. the mind boggles on how and why you and the country re elected a party that has form in ruining this what was a great country of ours when given the keys to No.10. Dont say you wasnt warned.
What is that wailing in the background? I suppose it's meant to make things worse.
And they voted Labour again. People get what they deserve and in this case asked for.
What is that shit music all about?
The cynical side of me thinks Mi5 were in a backroom changing balots same with Andrew Bridgen They ask to many awkward questions in parliament. We live in a world of political cheating
