Car, train, cycle to a Scout camp on the weekend for my first time backpacking. I loved it.
I rode a Dawes Kingpin with some minor alterations.
I definitely over packed – I probably didn't need a large merino wool camp blanket.
It rained almost the whole time, the Oxford Aqua V 20L stood up really well, as did the Topeak handlebar roll bag.
I took a tarpaulin by DD Tarp and used a walking pole as a tent pole. That helped save a lot of space and kept me bone dry at night all weekend.
Definitely need to get a better kickstand, keeping the bike upright was challenging.
