A 3 day cycling tour from Inverness to Dunbar via Aviemore, Newtonmore, Perth and Edinburgh.
[Music] hello and welcome um this is a 3-day mini Adventure so today catching the train from dumbar Edinburgh Edinburgh Perth Perth to in vaness and then cycling back over 3 days so it’s a beautiful morning it’s a really nice start so let’s hope it all goes well well that’s the bike secured [Music] [Music] just left in finesse and you can see the weather’s pretty pant wet cold and I’m on a good cyc of path you got to take the postives while you can well I’m just a couple of Mile in and had to stop to uh put my R jacket on miserable day miserable start but let’s push on well I’m about 13 m in and it’s never stopped raining you can see clouds low down over the hills oh it would be lovely if there was only a little bit of sunshine on it but it is what it is and we’ve got cope with it having said that my feet feel cold and it’s June it’s flam in June well up until now we’ve been on very quiet back roads but now we’re running parallel with the [Applause] A9 oh right okay so we turn off here I need to concentrate this is a very very Road you want to do is run hit me up I think I’m now coming up to the highest point on my little mini tour so yes this is the highest point slot Summit 1,3 28 ft or 405 m above sea level so this is the high Point um today yeah I think it’s I think it’s just on the right today I think i’ go higher tomorrow but we’ll see I’ve just left a boat of garden had some of the we I’m backing on now um I’ll more 2 and a half miles away up through that gate and that is one of my most favorite sections of gravel it’s a beautiful section through there so I’m just going to push on hopefully get to more this of time but if you don’t want to me now I guess know here we go [Music] out Ro here we go you [Music] can what’s that poing through the [Applause] [Music] trees it’s been visable all day we start to f up those are dying [Music] big bright thing in the sky is actually showing out you can see a bit of sunshine on the [Music] road so I uh left more behind now running parallel with the air9 but well back heading toward special Bridge so here we are like fashy bridge and on this side we’ve got some swimmers [Applause] [Music] War General W’s uh fortifications I believe we’re just outside King Uzi so not far now until I finished for tonight to kingzi and then Newton Mo and that’s where I’m finishing tonight well not long now newon b i where I’m staying [Music] tonight more um as you can see the roads are wet just spitting on again so waterproof top back on Long finger gloves back on just to St try just to try and St warm and dry uh I know I said yesterday I was going over the highest point well that wasn’t right today is the highest point on the [Music] Route 2 miles [Music] in the air9 is just over there somewhere can hear the traffic but I’m on this very quiet side road [Music] so this is a an old section of the A9 you can actually still see where they left the old cut size in and every now and again you see a bit of a white line so yeah traffic free this [Music] me the sound of the wind and the trees birds have stopped singing oh and noise from the air [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] well the rain held off still a lot of low Ling Cloud as you can see over there [Music] I think that’s where I’m heading a way through there can just see the air9 in [Music] here too early for a sniff do you [Music] think don’t Distillery yeah I think we’ll give it a miss it is a bit [Music] [Music] early well climbs to 4 57 M so this is the highest point of the route over the 3 days uh and I’m pleased it’s not May I’m pleased we’re in June and even in June I don’t whether’s not that nice to be honest so let’s push on onwards and [Applause] upwards you look across to to the right and the scenery is quite stunning but then over on this left hand side you’ve got the A9 which is noisy heavy traffic and of course those horrible ugly pylons but this way and this way absolutely stunning it will be even better on a sunny day uh well well I think I’m at the highest point on the Dr the pass oh and Scott rail yeah Mike G says I don’t know if we can read that 4 6 6 so and I think from here it’s all down well this is the highest [Music] point so this is the highest point passive droa 462 m 515 ft so there we are before when I said I was at the highest point I wasn’t this is well that’s good to know next cake stop well I come from newtonmore it’s a brewer yeah the house of Brewer might give that a call that’s about an hour yeah just be ready for cup of coffee and a scone or a bit of cake it’s been some beautiful T Mar to ride this morning made really good progress and look what I’ve come up [Music] against in Sun re no snow of more 43 Mi w [Music] and so this is Blair [Music] AOL the last few miles since coming out of P loer I’ve been quite undulating been up and down up and down climbed quite a height I don’t know you can see but just in here that’s the air9 and at one time I was level with the A9 I certainly left the highlands [Music] behind and I’m nearly [Music] halfway on the tour now so tonight I get the path [Music] oh trouble with the dog as you can see this section is getting a little bit wild think this is the worst I’ve been on since I left Newton Mo this morning I’m now in bunk [Music] foot I gone all the hills in the mountains covered in Heather now we got the low lands with [Music] crops I need to header right up here [Music] 3 my Scotland mini tour I’m uh making my way out of P 77 miles to go until I get home so currently in some quiet residential area missing the busy City Center [Music] Traffic yeah just now on a nice little Park [Music] path away from the traffic [Music] I’m well into uh deer 3 now and there’s been some big climbs I don’t know whether you can tell but this is climbing my’s currently saying it’s 7% [Applause] well it’s another [Music] climb good views from [Music] here we’re connect just see the three bridges over the fourth we have the brand new bridge here then the the old Queen Elizabeth Bridge there and then the railway about here somewhere and and that’s where we’re heading over the old bridge so this is done [Music] firland so that is the way to go over there if you’re a car and going over the new queen fairy Crossing I’m heading this way over the old bridge that you can just see sticking up over the [Applause] [Music] [Music] trees bikes it says 15 M hour I wish [Music] [Music] it’s a lovely afternoon now I’m on the outskirts of Edinburgh make my way through there some really nice cycle paths around EDB so I’m going to enjoy [Music] it earlier today I was across the other side of the forth and see what where the cruise ship is it’s over there that’s the F of fourth and that’s the air one and I’m heading this way up to Trent [Music] I know I’m nearly home when I say trop in law and baric law not far now Coast over there almost big tired I’m hallucinating I can see a big green elephant oh oh what [Music] else a big green man and a great big green woman I’m definitely hallucinating [Music] [Music] well that’s where I set off from Monday morning train to in vanesse 3 miles and then the mini tour is [Music] finished and here we are back to the start dumbar
