With the current sale (US), both bikes are $300 off. I am looking to get my first gravel bike (riding about 50/50 road/gravel currently with my 2010 Giant Defy road bike but it’s very limited hence the upgrade). I live in Colorado and mainly do flat trails with some climbing but with a proper bike I’d like to get more into hills & bigger gravel. Not really looking into mountain biking or bike packing & I still want capability to ride on the road without feeling sluggish as this bike would become my main rider. Is there a real difference in the 1by/2by debate? Is the 8 1by worth the extra $100?
