I'm planning to upgrade to carbon. I was also planning to upgrade to disc brakes, but i'm not sure it's that necessary.
At the moment I'm looking second hand, and found two Trek Emonda's that seem really great.
Bike 1: Trek Emonda SL5 2022 model – Disc brakes, Shimano 105 groupset
Bike 2: Trek Emonda SLR 2017 model – Rim brakes, SRAM Red groupset
Bike 3: Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 8.0 – Disc brakes, Shimano Ultegra groupset
Bike 4: Specialized Tarmac SL5 – Rim brakes, Shimano ultegra di2 11s
All bikes above are selling for a similar price second hand.
What do you guys think? My immediate thought is that the Emonda SLR might be a bargain, but i'm not sure how "bad" an older frame like that is compared to the newer Emonda SL5 for example. And how much better are disc brakes? What more should I think about before making a decision?
