help! i have been looking for a low budget friendly bike for riding with my daughters (2,3,8 and 9). i’m a teacher so no pay the next 2+ months. found this cutie on marketplace, and it came with this infant seat attached. boom success… but not.
i’m 5’3 on a good day, and have a long af torso with stubby little gremlin legs. with this seat on it, i can’t get on it or ride it. this seat attaches below the bike seat, so i cannot lower it anymore.
i’ve been trying and trying to research better options, but for some reason my searching isn’t finding a single example of this model (which kent has put out for years, same body different colors/prints/random deets) with an infant carrier either front or rear, or a bike trailer. my original plan was to ride with the 2 yo, and her dad or my mom could ride w 3 yo, as the few things i found said carrying 2 kids is incredibly hard (and im incredibly out of shape and despite 75 lb weight loss this last year pretty darn chonky). i’m home with my girls for summer and want to go on bike adventures, anyone have any ideas?! or recommendations? surely one of yall experts can give me some insight please.
🚴 it can’t attach via the bar on the adult seat
🚲 i had a friend offer her front attaching seat, but it seems i can’t see around my daughter with it on. #shortlife
🚴 we have a townhouse, so a trailer may be incredibly inconvenient in terms of storage but i guess im storing the bike out back under a grill cover so it could stay there, idk why im put off from the idea of it taking up tons of room inside lol
🚲 i know im way over analyzing this. its my current hyperfocus and i want to make a decision and actually utilize the bike, before i lost interest and it joins the graveyard of brilliant adhd ideas i had and quit mid-endeavor. my life hack for adhd and not quitting ideas has been involving my kids in them, if i have them excited to bike together and we’ve done it once, they’ll want to keep doing it and that will motivate me.
🚴 budget is as low as possible. less than $100 ideally. i’ve looked on marketplace/amazon/target/walmart but i just. can’t. decide. analyzing the logistics of the bike’s frame and weight distribution of myself and a kid or two, and installation based on the actual bike i have …. my mind is spinning.
