Here's all the food I will be bringing on my first bicycle tour. At the top are triscuits for a salty snack and raisins for a sweet snack on the bike. Also liquid IV.
On the bottom are my dinner and my breakfast. For dinner, I have couscous, a can of taco fiesta beans and some extra taco seasoning. I also have a bag of salmon for extra protein. For breakfast I have instant oats and I will add some raisins. I will cold soak both dinner and breakfast, as I don't have a stove yet. Additionally, I have a little bit of loose leaf tea and I'll probably just get a cup of hot water at a cafe in the morning to make my own tea.
For lunch I will just grab deli sandwiches at a grocery store along my route or get some other kind of takeout food. I'll be cycling through small villages, so I'll probably have the choice of Subway or McDonalds at best.
If you're curious, I will be cycling the Fred Meijer from Lowell, Michigan to Sleepy Hollow State Park and back.
Any tips or tricks about food for a first-timer are of course welcome! Otherwise, wish me luck!
