just on this have start Loop which is the same as the the short track course so the asphalt climb at minute and a half long then we drop into the woods and then two shoots in the roots and rocks to roll sorry section yeah Josh Carlson reporting in Thomas litcher massive crash as we saw on that pilot left that first left hander Stone last so can we see him get back through the ranks as they head in through the forest the start Loop here here we go this could could be chaos the Red Bull roots and rolles Columbo and shter Scott sham out front and it’s hly and Aldridge of canale factory racing you just seen that a little bit more focused a bit more an edge than the other riders in that top eight know they were going to try and start fast I think you know he’s done this before just put the up to the start and then we start the first of the technical section but it’s on the the kind of more natural stuff which is going to be difficult we see alre just on there back side Aldridge taking suddenly in fifth he was also up there as well till he had a flat tire they were amazing in those conditions has just gone past Kini that one G well also for these rival it’s Jordan Su strugling here and also I mean the Riders are not covered in m at all I mean it’s just a very mdy sticky ground you can see just the sh is looking strong yeah it’s like grinding past up the top of that climb mud getting really thick now ride is now at the top of that second big climb they drop into this little Gap jump they do a loop round and then it’s this climb up to the first time he see him going to run through the rock garden Fluker going well Columbo getting buried in the pack slightly now Columbo back in 10 Fluker up in [Music] fifth that is a statement off in 10 from mat Fluker he’s here to prove a points today the Russia haven’t had a great World Cup season so far and home race and it’s but he is like you say good conditions for him he’s always done so well when he gets a little muddy and slipper he very good in the tech got that win and pal and Salan Thor last time in the rim but here we go in the a line in this big manmade Rock section Shel reils around the corner yeah on a high speed these Riders but pedco is in front night the cool thing about these guys riding the a line is and pushes them higher up on the rocks and they miss all that that R to the bom here we go here’s the overtake then pitcock taking a more difficult inside line just gets his bike straight across the front to Shel Shel shakes the head but not happy with that move going AA waterfall into the waterfall section Tom Pitcock now who first time he said he hasn’t ridden the track today so that’s his first time done on the first lap there is theine is faster sh what we were calling the a minus line it’s faster a lot faster out of that one so that’ll be a learning exercise for Tom pitock so next time also Tom pitcock will take that minus uh the a minus line yeah sometimes it’s like that yeah joking aside with it is technically the B line that other one that Shel just rote but whenever you see the other camera angle on it it looks anything but a b line super steep going through a really loose set of turns but I think it just gives you a faster exit than the aan yeah yeah I mean on the bottom of the line we saw big coock ride it hasn’t got a real kind of big burm at the bottom so you just have to manage your speed a little bit and then like I said you exit speed coming out of there just is a little bit slower yeah Carlson reporting in that gunar homr Maxi Maxi Moro both covered in m in the slippery conditions is he able to come back to that group of three and that’s that mud skill it’s slightly different you know the big rocks and jumps is one thing but it’s that little like finesse and moving the hips around the body position on The Descent but also the climbs that remain TR as well look at here has his hands in closer to the stem and is right his way back onto this Chas for Fluker given that he was really buried on the start grd and there was so much chaos and crashes around him yeah 25th having missed that short track a bit lower that down the grid and it’s a bit of a handicap he’s recovering really quickly from that one yeah I think he will uh right himself more into this race especially that first lap with that fourth row start it’s always a bit more difficult to get through it but he already is fifth place is with maximan brle in front of him Gregor ragle from JB brunck Superior has been in with a flat tire apparently slow change so his day not going as he would have hoped all the Riders just going on this left hand line also in the bike just had to Dismount and jump back on and enable pick just to close the gap and it’s from group of five now all just coming back together look at schwas B pushing hard to come back to the leading gr he’s on sixth place so three German riders in the top six B and N now leading the race for Julian sh just to hang on there fluk just had to have a DB there and on clip his right foot C him a second off the bite these Riders n not still on his bike Nino the first person to be able to see what ridden that section all day yeah he made it y Nino sh collected his 36 win Val the solid trentino at the last round just see if on this course you can gain and lose little two seconds here or there you can ride a section you can dis just back whe spins out from underneath and we saw that happen to Alexander Keller in the elite women’s race as [Music] Wellen makes it over that right over there doing well as well getting onto that right side finding a bit of green grass the same to Tom get to him yeah FR [Music] wheel you see the riders today as well I think if you when you’re in a group you definitely almost trip a other up you make a mistake and the next Rider and causes shoes I think there’s something to be said of just being able to get into your own ribbon and riding on your own yeah constantly positions changing in this leading group all these parts have different lines to write bit back on his bike very smooth how he did that overt taking Maas Fluker immediately looks like yeah Fluker and ped champion as well unbelievable CB yeah you see some uh lines over there in the mid where the rers can get through it yeah you can just see the front four begin to distance themselves nice slightly from Max brandle he’s 12 seconds off the lead and at the head of the chase there they are flicker off the bike in the red Pitcock over oh carry some speed into the bottom that shoot so difficult very Steep and that big route is right at 45° and the only way you can do it is as you’re coming in big hop over really really difficult section to clean but for those front four absolutely nailing it you can see as well some o routes out there starting to turn white which if you’ve ever rid mountain bikes you knows the last thing on Earth you want to see is a big shiny white route more slippery those are the ones that smell like hospital food but out the front Tom pedco yeah he’s pushing hard now it’s kind of an attack senses 6 seconds senses that maybe is the time going through the timber Garden that’s still very slippery that Timber Garden you see the whole bike just moving around yeah have to be careful over there there she actually as well pretty wild who do we [Music] miss Maxim overtaken get a great performance from him so consistent correction for me in eighth currently L Forster in ninth gini seventh yeah look at Brio and also jofrey Kel Spanish Rider oh he’s in 11th place strong right for him today bike getting stood up in between the roots there fluk taking the fight to Nino shter knows that if anybody’s going to cast catch Tom Pitcock they need to start doing it quickly the battle in between n and maaso talking to the Swiss one rer not having a great first lap filipo columa now just drifted back to 20th position here he goes Fluker pass shter no love loss between those two and mat Fluker is answering his online critics here today yeah he didn’t do the short track yesterday to save some energy it looks like it works for him today he’s so [Applause] far like missing the short trap gives him that bit of a handicap on the start but on this circuit with the wider Open start loop it’s maybe not as much of a disadvantages on some other circuits we talked about this we we passed a very Cherry Ralph n on the way into work this morning and the two of us said well Matas and Alexander must be in good for he was definitely Ching yeah but if you go for the overall for the World Cup title then you need to ride and perform well in the short WX too otherwise going to make it there’s too many points up for grabs not take them seriously 7 Seconds now Tom pedco leads the way here in C Montana [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hcock through the be line and the Rocks just gives you a slightly better entry to that big turn one reach line like was taking how fast he can as the leader headed to the Red Bull roots and roll section still very slippery over there yeah plenty of moisture left onent bit of his one gear from at the bottom a little bit B he managed that and change that quickly obviously now we got this long asphalt section going through the start and finish and then the climbing it’s whereever pitcock well keeps the pressure on he’s not going to give any go into time trial mode yeah got po the hammer down not waiting at all here this first CL super tough short track it was taking the Riders about a minute and a half to climb up this asphalt cry then we have a small recovery before we go into the woods but it just keeps going and going it’s like four minutes all in all where you’re actually putting big power through the pedals it’s a really tough L Schwarz bar and brandle battle for the last spot on the podium is ring between Lucas Schwarz bar as compatriot Max brandle LS Forster wants to get across to them and Forster a winner from last year as well in the world cup but always very good on the hilly courses and in the mud too we have Jordan suu be behind himo as well third last week in B Ryder coming into really really good for think we’ll see him coming through this pack as the race goes on another young Swiss Rider Joel R Place yeah going well Joel Ro of the big performance race team of course but is all on 11th Place team manager there Matas Luger’s brother Lucas doing well to ride that technical section yeah wondering what Matias can do he off the bik already able to come back to th B was pushing hard the it’s gone from 5 Seconds to 1 seconds now youo struggling over there as well to stay on his bike this cost him a lot of seconds what he’s doing now he got did really well to power his way through that section and that’s kind of what we’ve seen here isn’t it it’s death by a f and cot we but there little mistakes here and there adding up over the course La looks like Julian Shel comes back a little to 30 seconds covering the top four and N meanwhile 45 46 seconds back Schwarz bar and brand this going to be this big scrap between the threee Germans and just coming into good form I say he 16th in the third round in Neo and it was his first short track that he was able to race in and he used that to the best he could moved his griding forward and it’s something that we saw years ago that Schwarz B did he was a mid pack kind of 20s 30s racer once he got his opportunity in the short track to move forward and that griding is so important these days Mountain bking goes so fast from the start on it comes into the off cam of to the offroad sections you have to be in a good [Music] position that’s why the start is to aordance it’s always the M but there’s no let up it’s so intense and every bit of energy you you know you overexp early on he always going to catch up with you in the latter laps Topock off the bike momentarily at the bottom of that climb back on again now though 19 seconds now 19 seconds now but it’s the tempo that pick just dancing up these climbs yeah he find his rhythm that’s one the more Technical and more difficult part of this course there is look go second place currently for the tumas Max on Ridder going into this race for know real real pressure race having a core World Cup getting Olympics let he had a great end of season last year so it was a well-deserved Olympic selection but you definitely would feel that pressure and I think in this race or Le were kind of his last two opportunities to to get a good World Cup under his belt yeah and also I mean there was a lot of pressure around the qualification for the Swiss team I mean that Philipe colbo had some great results Mar gini made it to the podium a CP times flar nearly losing the bike there and that’s what Maas flar felt as well so but he’s proven now his form 21 seconds now the Gap so pedco really really of the tempo at the front J Shel Shel still hanging in there 40 seconds back he’s not that far off Nino yeah doing a fantastic ride I say this year best result going into this race 16th in the World Cup this season last year had 20s 30s overall over the Big R over there so tough to get that right big consequences if you wrong as well wo wo W that’s not something you see on every day especially not from Nino massive I one but we don’t see that many questions of n massive mistake from shter Over the barriers back on the bike looked like a soft enough Landing but it’s cost him time and you’re right ol you really don’t get to say that very often Nino shter in trouble here in CR Montana I can count him on one hand the amount of time I’ve seen that boy on the deck yeah he G to the big root let’s see it again just didn’t get hooked up in that rot early enough and then deposited unceremoniously over the barriers you just see how deep that R and if once you’re in it you’ve got to stay keep your weight on the inside the moment that weight goes to the outside it’s all going to go wrong we saw on the B line on the waterfall Jen Jackson same sort of thing just getting a bit squirly coming in and go to the outside will take yeah but sometimes it’s hard to find his R back as well also his coord you see as well you must also hear a few seconds again unclipped yeah he’s not not together with this buying at the moment has I look down I just wonder if there’s something going on I think he’s had to run a little bit there maybe too much mud in the pedals in the shoes and he we saw P Peters in the women’s race he had to run a section and then almost crashed afterwards cuz her feet weren’t in the pedals correctly so yeah that looked like it really actually in the grand scheme of things upset pox R murder on that little section doesn’t take much on a day like today when the ruts are this deepo four plays now small crash and he’s not real sh been straight away it’s just unsettling it was a it’s not just a little slide off that was a proper crash Tye of that you know you you get up but it’s going to take you a little while to regroup bit stiff it wasn’t on the scale of that one on Mar though that was an absolute massive one yeah did did that saved his crash a little bit even when he went over his bars Yen Sherman’s for giant also missing today with a knee injury going for scans on it the Gap now 34 seconds from pitock back to Fluker is unbelievable season that P’s got in front of him winner in noo his fourth winner in a row in that circuit was unbelievable that day and then from there went straight to the big warm-up race of the tour Swiss overall Factor here took victory at the Amel gold start of the season and he always sort of talks about mountain biking being kind of a bus man’s holiday for him and that this is what he enjoys doing to sort of noty on the road bike isn’t it I mean Saturday starts two the France for him y cannot wait for that t the France getting underway this Saturday on EUR Sports [Music] Swiss Riders last forer sixth place now coming through strong Thomas Maxon Ryder Max brandle looking like he’s starting to suffer a wee bit second place for M VI a little bit of a bigger Gap now to the third place we jump on board the Drone behind Tom Pitcock this is such a tough climb now it’s a little bonus one not one of the big clim but just a little leg sapper and then be drop straight into the Rock Garden what makes this so difficult as you can see pick up now still climbing now drop of the post taking the aine that’s what the cheer was for from the crow minut to julan Shell took that line on the last lap apparently that a line we see if he does it again this one interesting to see as well Gap to Matas 35 seconds it’s interesting to see how much time on these big descent sections Matas can close there’s only 5 Seconds at the Finish Line 6 seconds and now5 already huge huge lap from Tom this one in the lane that deep on the way out the one that Cana Wheels sort similar too getting caught on that descent one can just catch you out if he waits in the wrong place you can hear the support of the fans also for Matias here see now we got the rock and roll rock garden section going straight into the waterfall see line the takes taking the be line again but that’s a very steep one on top too so steep the entry coming in and you got to catch that big burn that big rut if you get that right then you carry so much speed on the way yeah six UCI cross country Olympic wins for matz fluger normally Matas is so consistent and a winner from last year as well and it was only this his start of the Season it just a bit of illness early on which he took him to Brazil and then it just upset him a little bit and he’s we’ve been wait we expected him to come back into some good form at some point but he was starting to run out of time a little bit but at the moment this is the best legs he’s had so far this year and also definitely a course but suits him steep climbing also when it should have been a dry course definitely also something good for him it’s like some Riders just love that mud it’s just that extra technicality does his teammate forcer does as well oh pive Maneuvers around their BRS there’s also the multiv or the confidence what these conditions bring to you before the start of the race that’s definitely what has as well yeah and he got these conditions in the last few [Applause] days shter here also unclipped in that rock garden not a good lap for him and another crash big big crash for sure [Music] Le at him lucky not to down on those big rocks you know some an ankle there those rocks sure yeah the first crash in the in the woods generally going to be soft but that Rock Garden yes now you’re lucky to get up really lucky to get away with that one he didn’t lost that much time to Julian CH who still third no he must have he must have managed to keep the bike moving and jump back on almost straight away Schwarz bar stretching the back out as we’re used to seeing with him little bit of a draft here on this part of the course I think they regroup together chance to just kind of regroup follow a wheel for a bit get his energy back there’s Jordan suu yeah good to know about maximan R why he dropped what happened kidani coming back through really strong kidani ahead of bro and suu now so top 10 gini cross the line covered by two minutes just line up the middle opportunity to wear Schwarz B is at the moment that is ridable but it’s a questionable right questionable rable we saw Riders also struggling over there but now it looks like it’s better rable all these made it yeah you get these mix sections it’s trying to just pick out which one you think you can do which one you can gain [Music] time yeah sometimes it’s also what the r in front of you is doing which line he’s taking do I have to follow him or taking my own line which is different SE place currently in fourth placeo again another [Music] bubble stays on the bike shter though only guy we seen right that he’s doing it again so so good so powerful doesn’t like to Ru these sections elbows his way past Schwarz bar no short order changing positions constantly these Riders do this whole section here really slippery lots of big roots to chance of losing that back wheel the Riders having to stay seated trying to keep that weight on the back wheel keep the traction of the UCA cross country World Cup in Crown Montana it’s bubbling up nicely Tom Pitcock leads the way by 40 seconds head of Matas Fluker Julian shels in third Neo shter in fourth it’s the head of Lucas sports bar shorter in the last lap in the wars off the bike a couple of times not having his best La the previous lap but he has to find his ridm back that’s what he’s doing now good place and Sun’s just coming out you can just sit on course but Nina’s having lots of problems with his pedals you see then just banging his foot trying to clear the mud and I think that was also the issue on that rock garden as he came in the first big compression he hit a foot came out and bopped out the pedal and he’s got whether it’s a stone or something is in that shoe yeah I can confirm it was the rock G and Max M and brandle went down in so brandle was riding high but ding out of this one with the Medics there’s Jordan suu for BMC soon to be French Olympian yet [Applause] again yeah but also from Jordan who we have seen better races yeah I yeah I’ve got a theory that suu is going to be one of the Riders to beat comparas 2024 I think he’s boxing very cleverly at the moment and I think the focus is on those Olympic medals and maybe just getting the race craft in getting the legs turned on he’s one of the cleverest there Tom Pitcock goes down seemingly out of nowhere loses the front end Puffs the cheeks how quickly it happens constantly Riders they have to be concentrated everywhere very yes but it’s a very off camera section over here just a little bit too fast even if you’re leading the race what happen just taken out by a sniper route or something just the front wheel went from underneath them quick as look at it on Fourth Place partly as well you’ve just gone down the really difficult run in this Timber section then into the off camber and you’ve just taken a bit of a recovery relax relaxing we saw we saw it with um Charlie Aldridge in oura didn’t we just soft hands on the bar is not a technical section and it’s not much for the front end just get spun around on you so often you see Riders crashing it’s on that easy bit forish track a bit of grapple sure oh and large Foster died heavily in the timber gardeno arrives on the scene manages to get the bike slowed down get past a great bik riding that from Nino shter oh had that Timberwood Garden if you touch your brakes a little bit too much you slide and you crash immediately oh I’ve done that lar forer doing it let’s see it again oh the r r going first in the front Lars Force are just doing that little wave of the hand to make sure all the fingers are in the right place yeah it really hurts to crash on that wood they’re all yeah different sizes of locks yeah well it’s a shame for is that a time up to the camera I think he’s just making sure the thumb’s in the right place oh that hurts I think back markers getting caught already by Tom pencock on lap four out of seven might be saw also in the women’s race absolutely again absolutely no shame in that whatsoever the speed he’s going forer though yeah forer looking to his bike looks like his day his hand hurts wonder if that F was out that’s gone back in maybe going to be tough to regroup after that one meanwhile Mater’s got the tongue out he’s trying hard digging deep second place 43 seconds now after that crash from Pitcock so and that’s just the kind of day it is there’s mistakes in this for everyone you got to keep believing that’s true on a course like this and in these conditions everyone’s going to have a crash at some point today and it’s making sure it’s not a one on a rock section it’s on a soft section and it’s just making sure you can get up preserve your bike get Journey on Don’t Stop Believing pit takes the a line the big drop in yeah even after a couple of yeah laps you think other the ritals they found their Rhythm but still I mean I think every lap every moment it change again and they have to be concentrated constantly everywhere you see like pick that section you you just cleaned the hardest dayline bit the biggest jump in the course but then you get a bit squirly just on some rocks on the way out and that’s when you get a flat tire it’s there’s so many opportunities on this circuit not just the big man-made sections but that can catch you out there Shel third place for Julian Shel but this last couple of weeks in Europe just been finding things a little bit of bad luck haly baton losing the overall points leader Jersey Victor ketky could be in danger today not an ideal round for specialized Factory racing by stretch the imagination but that Achilles tendon of haly Batton will be the focus of most of their attentions along with that rib of Victor kety I think sh again he took that running PA instead of riding it’s getting warm out there now whisper it yeah when the sun is out it’s immediately much warmer yeah and it dries quickly as well but still this course it’s very slippery there’s a weird blue pattern forming in the sky as well the first time we’ve seen that all week we haven’t seen that here at all no you know pushing on finally so strong on these little steep routy patches he’s the only guy that can ride some of these sections he’s coming back to Julian chel yeah definitely the overall World Cup title plays in his mind Jordan suu the French champ Cup rankings so punching well above his weight at the moment yeah when the confidence is there when you can go to the Olympics you are qualified or almost qualified and LIF yourself to a higher first big climb the speed that Pig’s climbing today Tom pitock merciless at the front this one 50 seconds ahead of matus Fluker then there’s a chunky Gap back nearly a minute it looks like look Bri he’s coming back to Jan Shel and N the battle for third place is Raging out there as the sun starts to shine for what feels like the first time this week in Crown Montana Jordan suu I mean to Julian chel it’s not that big 20 seconds more like that 18 it is but really impressed with SH at the moment you know a Rider’s won so many races but he had a shocker of a lap two big crashes but he hasn’t missed a beat straight on the bite straight back on the pressure again yeah true champ yeah it looks like there’s coming more speed into this race yeah definitely drying out now so wondering how the lap times will be if they cross the line then we will see them no more pick hot gaining another 4 seconds looking now taking a different line on that Roots Big R that’s over there look now coming back to the third place the chance of Nino Nino from the side of the track it’s not been the display he put on for the fans in lenser heider last year in Switzerland but it’s definitely been a display one of the very toughest to ever do it Nino sherter refusing to give up on third place here and he’s got Julian Shel but his crosshairs also an amazing performance of Julian sheld here today take nothing away from him really manage their speed when they come into this dimble section and it’s just in the Shar as well so it won’t be getting much sunlight it won be drying out yeah but the Riders they carry on constantly new M on that wood and that makes it so slippery and also the the the tiles are covered in mud so yeah that’s not the the best combination the section where we saw really nicely from sh there jumping up on that higher line say Shel in these muddy conditions same as the European championships where he played third there’s your leader Tom petock the world [Applause] [Music] champion yeah it’s looking good how he’s paddling there’s power in his legs definitely pitock endurance is not going to be an issue I’m wondering what he’s going to do in the T front they probably going to put him out in his mountain bike I think let him battle it out he take his mountain bike with him to WR it once in a while if this is what maybe if this is what he does to relax just absolutely phenomenal what Tom Pitcock is able to do on just about any race bike second place for Matias F from Switzerland what do you make of this one what you make of this one B so much noise around play on the swis Olympic team what a way to answer the critics today yeah that’s that’s the way how you have to answer it and that’s the right way he does it but I think yeah from my side he he had the credit as well uh that he was qualified selected for spit for the Olympic Games I mean he did quite okay last year and also yeah this year at the beginning of the year it wasn’t his his best World Cups and of course another a few other Swiss Riders they were so well performing like Mar and filipo Columbo especially I think these two yeah and then it makes it quite hard for these people who who have to make the decisions but yeah Matias he has shown that he’s always there when it comes down to uh championships the Olympic games are as well yeah classy classy ride from mat fler let the spike racing do the talking this battle shter now up in the third place ahead of Shel you can hear the C’s reaction to it with a minute 50 back that’s a big big we had a great battle last week for third place in B we’re going to get another one today this mid pack battle yeah yeah yeah the third four and fth place in the race it’s just I mean I say this I say this every round but it’s just such a brilliant generation of racers the talent pool so deep they can all run with the bulls now and I reckon they’re going to be joined by Jordan seru pretty sharpish yeah he’s not that far off yeah with Luca Schwarz bar the canyon Collective it’s great to see BR back in form a couple of World Cups in the past few seasons ago and then just went off the ball a little bit yeah coming back through bang down BR just stuck in the wrong gear there momentarily as well it’s the advantage of that a line is it pushes you right up onto the top of the rocks and you miss that big horrible r at the bottom that rder got stuck in them this corner was also very slippery most of the Riders they go really wi they’re having the straight line arly till they can get the bike turned what a display from Julian Shel this weekend though yeah you’re never sure some Riders can do an amazing short track over 20 minutes but [Music] [Applause] then like said they can do a good short track but then struggle to translate that into the the hour plus of the ex it’s like that yeah but no not today for Jillian CH no he’s doing an amazing job backing it up third place meanwhile out front Tom Pitcock 43 seconds in the lead ahead of Matas fler as he comes around two to go after this one finger again just bringing it back on the long descent brings back 10 P takes out 15 and it just keeps rocking and rolling between the two of them I think especially this part of the course the Asel The Climb that’s what’s bit bit suits and where mat fig is losing a bit of time constantly Tom ped coock though two more laps to go Oh look The Settle look strong oh he’s fettling looking like he is just rolling around here and all the time he’s just inserting that bit more pressure bit more pressure I say the last mountain bike race another me to World Cup pick he was so strong and on the climb where he could attack [Applause] Nas Just rolling through 46 seconds now two laps to go here they go down through the redel roots and roll section Shel neatly does it shter follows him BR nothing to choose between the three of them down there these sections now the ones in the sun just drying out really nicely getting a lot faster Dany great ride from him in seventh behind him it’s suu then Forster then filipo Columbo back up in the 10 yeah he was back to almost 20th at one point where he had a a flat TI we miss mechanical [Music] but strong R we now got four Swiss in the front 10 yeah that second lap time from pH Colo he lost about at 30 seconds compared to his what times he had the last 34 years and only 16 men have won a UCI cross country World Cup on home soil shurter he’s done it on three occasions before today but not looking like it’s going to be number four fler 49 seconds back from Pitcock here is shter heading into third place yeah overt taking Jillian Shel yep Shel didn’t put up too much of a fight but Shel and shter still doing battle now sh in the black and white jersey of Scott Shram MTB racing Shel different line Runing equal in time and there’s Luca bro with them in the Italian national champions colors yeah looks like when the sun comes out it’s trying quickly more dry parts right now more grip for these Riders this track has been a mental as much as a physical battle all week long for these Riders and its final sting in the tail is it’s now going to start to dry out for the last two laps of this Elite men’s race thankfully sometimes when it’s been really muddy when it dries out it gets really sticky and sticks to the bike big chance mechanical issues at the moment though it’s it’s not causing that sort of sticky mud no no it’s not getting up it can get nice and fast as well s of packs in a bit you can trust the rots a bit more we seen in riding all these little climb and difficult sections the ones on lap one an hour ago they were just struggling to get traction but now bit more grip available and schw actually not that far off these two not that oh sh of three shter just holding shelves Cru progress behind him bro right back into contention after that shter clever just parking the bike across sh getting a bit of a weave on D that descent back in just threatening the step on him really difficult little section that we have a climb then it drops down another little climb before a really big dip and there’s a a lot of chance there to lose in hemorr L quite a few seconds very difficult section over there but also here where topit is he’s so strong on this climb and he’s gained put that Gap out to matz looking a back to 58 seconds again into the Timberwood section approaching a minute to the good for Tom pedco as he heads into the timberwoods a line precisely timed yeah you just have to kind of get the wheels in a straight line there don’t you and go for it you see how it’s about coming into it really slow so you don’t have to break so much listen to this but it’s definitely much shorter line than if you have go around on the sea [Applause] line lots of singing for n sh to BR just a few seconds and then a bit more to kadani only big ride for Mater today yeah big big pressure home race hadn’t had a good World Cup so far this season Olympic SEL action well talked about and then to come back sitting in second at the moment first Swiss it’s a big big deal Christopher blevens has just rolled through the start Finish Line 35th now bevens yeah bit weird and another Rider as well halfy he’s disappearing 22nd now so the overall at the moment really going the favor of Nino shter yeah Aldridge up in the 16th as well suu seems to stabilized the losses after that rear flat Julian Shel but then we have L these three almost three four and five in the race kadani little bit further down almost 10 seconds there he is NAD kadani from Italy kadani one of the standout rides of that top 10 you have to say he’s not qualified for the Olympic games that’s Simona VTO together Luka Brio but no avetta this weekend no no I don’t know actually why maybe Al do training as well the last preparation for the Olympics we should give a shout out as well to Maxim Moro is currently in 45th announc his retirement earlier on this week just battled with allergies for too long one of the great cross country Pros French great career shter still attacking down up the Cent watch Shel go high here works for him every lap gives him that wider entry into this corner can slot at home between those two routes and carry the speed out and he’s right back on the back wheel of n shter r slightly less comfortable yeah chel what a ride sitting there on the back of Nino fourth place yeah huge PB for the German Rider and probably an Olympic Game Spot you’d have to think so not a bad Sunday yeah Max brandle was up in the mix as well but big crash in the rock garden and taking him out of contention he’s with the Medics so hoping he’s all right here having a brilliant day before that [Music] brandle this CL super super tough coming up to this one not finding a good line between the roots many times out of the settle more grip now on this rear wheel you see the power he’s got just attacking that one being into that rock garden a line again for him you just get pushed slightly left on the way through there say you get good exit speed if you do that a line pushes you right up onto that rock wall all just about that Gap to 49 seconds so matz finger it’s all about keeping it smooth what do I for don’t B today absolutely oh I think it’s like that every time again sliding into the D horrible feeling as well when the back end starts to Arch around in the opposite direction you need it to but that wooden entry on the way in it’s so steep yeah when I ran around the course early I couldn’t even walk down trees crazy shter getting roared around this track in Crown Montana there a big gap to Second yeah all the rivals bit faster lap times constantly 49 seconds Tom pedco out front ahead of Matas fluger then it’s Nino shter Julian shell lucao kadani between kadani and Schwarz Bower yeah top five kadani still in touch for a Podium spots the battle for third place Really T itself up nicely third the fif all the play for Jordan through after his flat tire still eight after this crash Ninth Place shter shell Bridal who is going to take third place on this little lot I think Nina face your bets now oh who you think B always let Bart answer first cuz he’s usually right it’s true I take someone else Theo is looking strong it doesn’t come down to a Sprint finish I think between these three I would say Julian I okay I’ll say BR then looking like he’s barely taking over the Englishman heads out onto the final lap but for pitock as well limited mountain bike appearances but heading to his second win in two races two wins last year world championship current Olympic champion I mean his hit rate is UN it doesn’t matter what format it is what race bike it is a win’s a win isn’t it for your confidence and it’s so great to see him constantly back in m even if he does a lot of Roads even some cycle in Winter actually but that’s not that much anymore what he did last time last winter but Mountain Mike definitely probably the Olympic games are his main goal as well look at this man though matus tuer what a ride today classy classy gutsy ride from mat sluger heads onto his final lap pressure was on foring this weekend to get a good race in home so and start his World Cup campaign with a good race for sure he’s happy with that here we go though the battle for thir heating up as it heads onto its last lap shter Shel bro yeah these sections are much drier more grip yeah track finally finally just by Perfect on the last lap in the last lap of the weekend of the weekend really unless you were here earlier in the week he would not believe the amount of water we had to deal with nearby zerat flooded and the conditions this we so changeable he had the end of the short track reasonably good conditions and then 5 minutes after they finished at the start of the U23 race the heavens opened again and turn the course made it’s so treacherous for the U23 guys and especially also this morning it was cloudy yeah when the Miss came in the C didn’t dry at all from all the r in the last week well shter takes the B at the front of what will be the battle preferred Place shell bro and arle going to be joined by kadani but F similar lap times than pit at the moment faster fastest lap belongs to Tom pitock Matas fler 4.2 seconds back off his 45 seconds the distance on the road there also NAD kadani faster than these than the these three fighting for the third place these two well used to battling each other the battle for suu versus Forster Forster had that big off in the middle of the Timber Garden yeah wondering how his thumb is doing it’s good when you see someone going down hard like that they can get up get crack in again he’s recovered well in that top 10 yeah sometimes with old adrenaline you don’t feel it but afterwards definitely it hurts and you kind of Wonder as well what could have been for both of these Riders you know Forster had that crash suu had that flat rear tire yeah yeah they’re both going very very well still quite high up the order yeah but don’t forget these crashes of Nino true also I think none of these are faultless today so P go crashing as well and of course like this in these conditions like say most people have had at least one you know slip small crash he’s just making sure you don’t land on anything bad see and that’s where it’s this bit of luck on a day like today you kind of always rolling the dice a bit and now definitely that line where the rles N went and Lucas Luca BR that was definitely a bit faster than Julian Shel did his running section and these two Nino and Bri now just piling on the pressure SCH just starting to get distanced a little bit Yeah bre and heavily [Music] know the last lap of the fifth round of the 2024 UCI cross country Olympic World Cup heating up a tree this is the battle for third place you’re looking at that’s kadani on sixth place NAD kadani is he able to close that Gap can kadani get himself up on the podium it would be just reward for a really well ridden [Music] race shter applying the pressure as he likes to do kind of an attack over here on this climb difficult climb slippery and Steep and there’s a couple of really slippery routes just at the wrong angle one took Nino out the lap before Riders are exhausted just getting more difficult back wheel just surfing away underneath him on that carpet aout shell gets that nice High Line still kneeling those technical lines def deep mud section to where we see L skill come in he’s faster than Nino faster than bro had that little p climb all these ridal have to RN it’s too steep back on the bike back on the bike shter Shel a little bit off running a little bit further good on The Descent he can just hold these two on this big climb up that’s a big F it’s a big F cuz we’ seen Nino shter really turn the screw on this Ascent through out the race and you know as well having a difficult day two crashes yeah for him definitely the the overall point count y are we going to see Nino shter take control of the overall points Jersey this afternoon in Switzerland there’s a better racing left to do that Gap from pitock out front test looking J every time he hit the climb it just grows a bit back to 57 seconds again almost a minute extending his leads constantly Pitcock then the leader fluger in second shter in third BR fourth for the time being here’s L forer and then we have Jordan s behind him forer then eighth place here we go this one heating up between Brio and shter Sh still in contention [Music] too different lines on that descent little bit of a short recovery in that descent very very easy to come together as well whenever the tractions limited out there bro attacking the rear wheel of Shir and I up this really steep climb shelves right back with them I hope they will control their speed when it comes down to the Timberwood section there you have to be precisely every single meter matters now on that Timber section that’s not one to attack that’s one to treat with respect to treat respect that’s how it is we saw the crash of lo oh shter slides in the way in is it on purpose yeah I wonder hangs a leg off and that allows Shel to close back on the back again what went wrong actually on top of that just unclipped and got a little yeah I think he thought he was going to go wide so had to knock it off a bit but but again another tuck section where you do a really hard climb that you’re at your maximum and then you have to drop in and the Brain isn’t quite working right you’re fatigued especially at the end of the race Pitcock and that’s why this say again XC is so hard you know it’s not just being able to ride these sections it’s been able to ride them after the climb for full speed makes it more hard more difficult carry on his speed here in this little descent out of the settle again pushing hard on that py climb Nino’s pushing now attacking Nino sure attacking but bro staying with him Shel looking like he’s on the
