Should you take your bike to the Balafon area, or even ride a bike there… #balatonfüred #hungary #cycling #balaton

how do I always make a mess of hotel [Music] rooms good morning let’s get a coffee so I’m actually in actually I’m in Hungary that Lake over there if you can see it that’s the lake bleon we did a cycling event yesterday with work was really really nice 200 km around the lake 25 I have to say so I had some ideas to shoot a video today tomorrow but I actually have no idea what to shoot the video about but I brought the camera so thought why not and what you’re going to see in this video I have no idea but I do need a coffee okay so I figured out a theme or topic or whatever you call this for this video it’s going to be should I ride my bike in Balaton Hungary and if so which bike should I bring obviously I brought a bike so I can actually give good advice for once [Music] okay so three things why you should bring your bike here ride your bike or not bring your bike and not ride your bike or ride your bike depending which bike anyway number one safety so I have this third day riding here and if you go on the main roads with the cars it can get a bit tricky uh but there’s so many bike path and bike paths paths roads where you can ride your bike um and it’s it’s really friendly um there’s not a lot of traffic in the early mornings um around the lake uh it’s a bit more busy obviously but if you go a bit outside the lake like when I am right now in a Vineyard uh you can see the roads here here it’s it’s absolutely beautiful so safety as always be wise I really sound like an old man now anyway safety no issue you just [Music] joy and pleasure to millions of music [Music] [Music] lovers so number two let’s talk about number two number to infrastructure amazing I did not expect this so many really good roads all relatively new if you look at this and this is a cycling path right so it’s indicated with the yellow cycling lines so the cars know that you’re here and they’re very respectful absolutely top notch [Music] [Music] love are you lips my S [Music] I’m not sure you can see this but I have some issues with the the heart rate that was supposed to train a bit in zones but whatever reason I did not update any firmware or something like that most likely and it’s constantly giving me the I my heart rate is 225 I wish I could still do that [Music] [Music] [Applause] what day four on the bike here and uh a these wheels are amazing but they’re making so much noise uh day four on the bike decided to explore a bit of gravel as you can see in the uh in the video amazing I mean it’s it’s really really really nice really really really nice uh I guess you get the picture by now Road quality is a bit sketchy anyway but you shouldn’t do this what I’m doing now anyway but uh nice little gravel road today route I have to say 70 80 km 70% off-road uh we had just had a a pretty nice climb so just enjoying this uh descent right now and uh I think I need a coffee and some cake cake definitely [Music] cake so one thing I haven’t mentioned yet was the um the weather so we spoke about the safety we spoke about the infrastructure uh but we did not talk about the weather yet it is mid June right now it’s absolutely perfect weather 26° during the day in the morning a bit chilly about 10 between 10: and 15 in the evening it uh it gets back to about 10 15 degrees so I think June May probably the best month to come here and to uh ride your bike uh my assumption is that in uh July August it probably gets a bit too warm uh but I guess the end of September October when you still have long days it’s uh it’s it’s a great place to ride your bike as [Music] well so that was a nice 4 days of uh cycling here in the bulon area uh so conclusion should you or should you not take your bike or rent a bike or whatever um and short should you come to this area to ride your your bike absolutely yes bring your bike if you can I would recommend a gravel bike or a road bike any bike will do actually anyway I’m off to Budapest now get some more d [Music]
