My friend at the start of the ETS
I returned to the ETS this year, trying for redemption after a failed practice run in December. I didn't take my drone but the scenery was really pretty, everything I remembered from the first time. It's a special place.
I made a summary video I'm proud of (20 minutes) and a short (30s) if you prefer.
It was muddy because of a thunderstorm the night before, but we got through it! Proud to say that I finally completed one of the routes!
I documented Ratcliff Lake, the campsite for the first night, and the River Rat Resort, a campsite 30 miles from the end of the Lowdown. I stopped to take photos of every wildflower I saw, at least once. One of the best parts was getting pulled into a group chat of people from my city psyched about going — it was energizing, and fun to meet up with them along the way.
My metabolism was through the roof for the next couple days, and while I thought I wouldn't need to come back… who knows what the future will hold.
