Greetings,
I am in the market for a road bike.
My experience with bikes so far:
- years of MTB/Enduro
- Zooming around with a fixie
- got a run down Specialized Allez that is on my indoor trainer. Wheels are broken, no brakes so no chance of riding it outside.
I am now spending nearly all my riding on the trainer since I really like the position of a road bike.
My typical outing will not be 4h+ since my spouse is absolutely not into cycling. Everything around the two hour mark should be more a less the norm.
Climbing, group rides and hunting my own PRs is typically where am at as well.
I have my eyes on the following bikes:
Integrated cockpit looks nice but it's also a pain in the ass for own maintenance. Not a big fan of giants hookless wheels.
With all that in mind, would a race geometry be a proper choice or would you recommend an endurance frame?
Budget wise the Rose is stretching my budget already but that bike is just gorgeous looking, I keep on getting back to it.
Would appreciate any input.
