That is a sexy French bike! Have you ridden it and if so, what are your impressions of the ride quality? I have a 78ish Motobecane made from Vitus 172 which is a very plush ride, so wondering about the Super Vitus tubeset and how that feels… Are the tubes oversized as well, or do my eyes deceive me?

I commute on an ’84 Grantour – Gitanes are lovely bikes and that one looks to be in great condition!

My first 10 speed was a Gitane that I bought on layaway from Velo Sport Cyclery on Grove Street in Berkeley. It must have been 1966. Cost me $54. Simplex deraileurs.
