So I'm looking to get a bike for commuting & recreational use, no racing. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to bikes. My employee recently launched a bike benefit, so I can get a bike that's on the expensive side for commuting. For various reasons, I've pretty much narrowed it down to Canyon.

So far my options are:

Grizl CF SL 8 1by EKAR for 2719€

Grizl CF SL 6 AXS for 2599€

Grizl 8 1by for 2099€ (out of stock until august)

Any of the Endurance-line bikes for 2-3k

https://pelagobicycles.com/stavanger/ for 2695€ (Wildcard)

I'm leaning towards the gravel bikes, but with my commute being 80% tarmac, I'm thinking a road bike might work aswel.

I already had the Grizl AL 8 1by in my cart, but they sold out. It's still an option, but that would mean waiting probably until August, which is not optimal.

As for the two Grizls, the EKAR one is obviously "higher spec", and it's discounted from 3449€. The discount alone tells me it's a higher spec bike, but I read up that the EKAR-parts are going to be way more expensive to maintain (which the bike benefit doesn't include), and think that maybe it doesn't offer me any real benefits that I'd notice with my use and experience? I also like the etap on the SL6, which the SL8 doesn't seem to have.

Help me decide?
