I’m currently riding a 51 Cannondale CAAD 8 that I got off Marketplace for $500 that was ridden 5 times.
Been looking out for an upgrade for new components, but can’t spend the cash on something brand new. Additionally, I care more about comfort for long rides (100+ miles) than speed and I don’t race.
I have an opportunity to get this 2019 Trek Domane SL5 for $1000 which includes fenders, but it is a 54cm. I did Trek’s sizing chart and I’m about 5ft 8 even with a 30.5 inseam. I think the bike in the photos look too bike for me and read Trek’s typically skew larger, but a friend who is really into bikes said it should fit though I might have to change some things. I am going to test ride it if I meetup, but won’t it be near impossible to tell since the current fit is for a rider much taller (he is 5ft 10)?
