In today’s story, we’ll take a look at modern 2-stroke superbikes. These are simply two-stroke monsters of our day and they have everything, electronics, negligible weight and enormous power. Have a great mood and enjoy watching!
what could modern two-stroke super bikes be like quite an interesting question to which nevertheless there are a couple of answers today these would be virtually weightless 200 horsepower monsters making your blood run [Music] cold today two stroke engines are already part of history as in the Noto distant past due to the complaints of environmentalists they were made so small and low powerered that we can barely remember them nevertheless Two Strokes dominated Grand Prix racing from 1975 when jakamo agustini winning on a Yamaha until 2001 when Valentino Rossy became last world champion in the 500 cubic cm class on a Honda NSR 500 in fact two stroke engines once actually pushed four stroke engines out of every GP class their undeniable advantages were low weight incredibly high specific power and simplicity even the mighty Honda which challenged the rapidly developing two-stroke engines with its fourstroke NR 500 High reving oval piston knowhow was forced to make a sharp turnaround and develop its own two-stroke NSR 500 engines ever since MotoG GP regulations banned two-stroke engines fans desire to have a true Grand Prix replica in their garage one that could be taken to the track and also for a quick ride to the coffee shop around the corner has only increased perhaps now it’s also driven by nostalgia this desire was decided to be fulfilled by a company called ronx Dresden in Germany their offering the ronx 500 model clearly draws inspiration from the final era of powerful 500 cubic cm two-stroke engines and yes it really does look like the NSR 500 they built only 46 of them which is quite sad because we ordinary Mortals will most likely never ride or even see one a very rare thing [Applause] [Music] the technical specs the bike is also not far from the NSR the engine has a capacity of 499 cubic cm it is an 80° V4 with two counter rotating crankshafts it features a few fuel injection system and a six-speed cassette gearbox it produces 160 horsepower this is slightly less than the 180 200 horsepower that the last of the 500cc NSR engines produced but this is what can be allowed on the roads it lasts longer than a racing prototype designed for a race the only thing that can dampen The Nostalgia for the golden ARA of Two Strokes is the price tag of €100,000 as usual let us know in the comments what you would buy for that money and we move on if you really want to definitely ride a modern unprecedented two-stroke bullet the incredibly Swiss company Suitor will sell you one if you can afford to spend over €100,000 on an expensive two- whe toy the MMX 500 model will give you something no other motorcycle can those memories of the Glorious era of two-stroke GP the motorcycle is equipped with a two-stroke 4-cylinder V engine with a displacement of 576 cubic cm the maximum power of the Fantastic power unit is 195 horsepower at 13,000 revolutions per minute the dry weight of the racing machine is only 127 kg the power to weight ratio of the Sutter MMX 500 is 1.53 horsepower per kg yes it falls slightly short of the rotary edge of the NCR 700w from the previous release but the horsepower per liter rating is clearly higher here [Music] [Applause] [Music] this two-stroke engine is not archaic like the ronax it is also equipped with electronic fuel injection and also with carbon read valves on the intake and power valves with electric actuators in the intake ports of the cylinders the exhaust system for the gas pressure in the resonators is an acrapovic system made of titanium alloy it features a six-speed cassette type gearbox this design allows diagnosing and replacing Parts without removing the engine which as we know is especially convenient for maintenance on the racetrack the Sut clutch a dry multiplate clutch the MMX 500 duplex frame is made from a single aluminum Billet using Milling it features a fully adjustable front fork and an inverted type deer with an adjustable steering column angle the geometry of the rear swing arm can also be changed using replaceable linkage arms for braking there are two 280 mm brake discs with four piston Brembo calipers at the front and a 218 mm brake disc with a two piston caliper at the rear the fuel tanks and fairings are entirely made of carbon fiber at the buyer’s request the bike can be equipped with Aussie magnesium alloy wheels instead of aluminum wheels the maximum speed speed of the Sut MMX 500 is 310 km [Music] perh a unique Swiss motorcycle was released in an ultra limited edition of 16 units out of the plan 99 its price at the time of release was 120,000 Swiss Franks or about $123,000 now one cost €150,000 the price is astronomical but it’s cheaper than $184,000 for the Honda RC 213 vs however for Honda the inflated price was a marketing Ploy here the high pric is due to Advanced Technologies I suppose the rotary kryon also definitely falls into this price category indeed what do you think are Racing Technologies worth such big money write in the comments section below absolutely the speed of the Desma sidiki RR plot its engine was ahead of its time how to achieve 350 kmph from an 800 cubic cm engine e

This is my new favorite channel. Funny to see all the funny dream bikes I’ve seen and would look over. As an engineer, I really appreciate the thoughtfulness into the detailed explained
Any vintage REPLICA NSR I could get hold of
I know I mix 2 stroke gp racing. It took a different animal to tide them
Yes you did it. Thank you
I wish someone would just make a 500cc or 600cc TWO cylinder with a pair of cylinders from a KTM enduro type bike like the KTM 300 XC-W. It'd have so much torque and you wouldnt have to rev to snot out of it all the time to get it to hustle. For the track ya sure 4 cyc is a better choice but for road use id rather have a torquey v-twin. Cheaper to own and rebuild as well and a much simpler bike to engineer. I have a stock RD400 and an a highly tuned RZ350… I always choose the RD400 because of the torque it has down low.. much more a pleasure to ride around town. The rz needs its nuts revved off to get it to go and that gets real old real fast when bombing around town.
I see turn signals, mirrors, and a license plate bracket on the Honda RC 213V-S, street legal! 🤯😍👍🏻🏍
Dreams aren't dashed though, just need quid for a Langen, Salt, or even possibly a leftover Jawa. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
with 100k tons of people will buy an house or apartment to live in, but amazing bikes.
The last of the 2 strokes were making 400hp per liter N/A. Let that sink in.
2 stroke people have to be the lower quartile on the left side of the distribution. how about you make an engine that don't burn oil, it's not that hard. 🤣
My bicycle has 76cc's of power.
Love the Germans
no interest. come back if you have something affordable. this is just for basement dreamers.
Thanks! I can almost smell the two-stroke from here! Now the NR500 – that was a weird bike! 🤯
Skidoo and Polaris have some sweet modern 2 stroke engines still in use on the snow, would love to see the newer Polaris 9R properly adapted into a bike
100K before taxes. It is 250k after taxes in my country 🙁
🙏❤️ Love from Scotland ❤️🙏
Listening to a.i. voice overs make great looking videos unbearable to watch.
120cc can do 180Kmh , and 500cc only do 320 Kmh….humm.
It's a pity the times we are living in, two strokes had been wrongly targeted for the sake of environmentalism when they account for an absolute insignificant fraction of polluting engines, this is an authentic shame, banning them made even more expensive the few bikes built, the very few small makers that had a chance to build some like the ones portrayed in the video (Ronax and Sutter) give a proper account of it due to an inexistent benefit of the industrial production.
With current technological advancement and building methods, these kind of bikes should or could have a reasonable price similar to current superbikes. This is so sad…
For that money of 100K? I’d probably buy a Crighton CR700W
Dude.

That's not I've heard Akrapovic pronounced but I'm just an American. Here its said, "Ak-rah-poe-vik."
Now I'm second guessing my own use of the word in case I'm wrong
100k for that is not a bad price
I would be happy to see a bike like an RD400. it doesn't have to be 180 hp. I just want a fun street bike. not a track bike. not something with track ergonomics. something really light weight with maybe 80 to 110 hp.
We miss 2 strokes ,they wr so efficient and easy to ride
It looks like the NSR 500 and they built only "46" of them eh?
I wonder why😁
My rd250 and rd350 are no where near the level of insanity V4 two stroke are able to achieve but watching vids like this definitely makes me want to hop on them and rip around town. Currently rebuilding a KX250 bottom/top end and so tempting to swap it into my 2021 KLX230 lol.
The Video Is Not Too Bad But . . . You Need To TYPE Millimeter In The Script So The Annoying & Stupid A.I. Will Say, "Millimeter" & Not M-M!! Thank You.
Please cover the Nimbus if you have not already. Thanks!
And in the UK F2Motorcycles will sell you a 350 two stroke twin Jawa brand new with expansion boxes developing 27hp.
2 stroke not so cheap nowdays
Now that fuel injection
For 2 stroke can operait
Euro fuel emission it looks like
A come back is poseble
Get an RGV250 a bit of tuning, zetronic ecu and a couple of hours on a rolling road and 70 BHp and 129kilo wet = similar power to weight ratio as Bugatti Veron. 😉
What atrocious computer generated narration.
As stated else where , kawasaki has a 600 cc Square four two stroke in a road super bike style , with direct injection so it passes modern emissions, 212 hp on test tracks now set for 2026 release and same direct injection two stroke Motorcross KX 550 T , basically the last 2005/6 KX 500 updated motor 92 hp in a KX 450 F frame , i will be the first to buy i can tell you .
a 20-30 yr old aprilia 2t RS125 still command 3000 USD without paperwork here in taiwan (ie "track use only" )
let that sink in
There was work on a parallel twin DI 2-Stroke based on the RD / RZ 350 engine from Yamaha and bolted up into an Aprilia RS 250 frame. Not sure what happened to that but the Yammi engines with larger cylinders were doing quite well and DI variants were found in Dune Quad Racing back a few years.
Love riding 2 Strokes – the 90's RGV250 was a hoot.👍
just got a 1971 Suzuki T500 :3
for 100k i'd rather buy a used Detroit Diesel 2 stroke truck!
