Are there more motorbikes than cyclists in the Tour of Britain bike race?

It’s a fabulous sight seeing the rolling road closure for a cycle race but just how many motorcyclists are involved? From Police outriders to volunteer race marshall’s it’s likely there’s more motorbikes than cyclists doing the actual event.

I reckon we only filmed about 2/3s of the motorbikes yesterday over Scout Moor in Bolton but even so the amount adds up, a fabulous sight indeed.

Look out for Lizzie Armistead (nee Deignan) riding 3rd wheel in the first group on the road.
