it’s November 24th 2018 I’m at a place near zag and Poland and the place is called Stalag Luft 3 now I think if I was going to name my top 10 all-time favorite movies I don’t you don’t know the list but I think I’d definitely put one movie in particular in contention and that movie is the Great Escape 1963 so this is basically the camp and the spot where they if you know the story they the prisoner of war prisoners of war they were prison here and they tried to escape and night March 24th 25th 1944 so was it the the tunnel is about nine meters below and about a hundred and two meters in length so that’s where it started and I’m gonna walk towards where it ended pretty much [Applause] but yeah it’s quite interesting I love the movie and this is the spot so kind of cool and it was basically I think they held Air Force personnel here so and so they’re planning at 200 prisoners out but they only managed to get 76 out because the 77th was caught escaping because the exit was a bit short or shorter than they anticipated and so it’s just as you’ll see they’re doing some roadworks and of the 76 that got out 73 were captured there after tree made it to Norwegians and a Dutch although the film The Great Escape shows that it was some other people and then 50 of the 76 that were 73 that were captured were executed which was against the Jiva convention so that was bad of the German Nazi Germans to do that so yeah this is where they went in they ran into the forest and here’s the escape of eggs I just find this stuff cool interesting not cool say that happy but yeah that’s pretty cool so this is the spot Stalag Luft 3
