Has anybody else tried this system and experienced similar?

Canyon sells a bag with handles and removable wheels to make (infrequent) travel easier using the original Canyon box. Seems great! But it doesn’t fit my Endurace bike guard box, purchased on the same order.

There are holes in the bottom of the bag through which removable wheels snap into brackets installed in the box. The box even comes with pre-cut pop-outs into which the brackets clip in perfectly. The whole process was pretty impressive until I slid the bag on and realized the bag’s wheel holes aren’t even close to the bracket holes (shown with coins in the photos). It’s like the bag is for a thicker, shorter bike guard box. Even if I bunched up the fabric, there’s no way to make it fit in the other dimension.

I’m very glad I didn’t wait until the night before my trip to test-run this!

And on a related note, recommendations for travel bag for Endurace CFR that is a good compromise between size and level of bike de/re-construction necessary? Hubby doesn’t ride, so when I travel with the bike and him I have limited bike time, and want to spend the max time riding, not building.
