an original 50’s sturmey archer hf-62 headlight im looking to know information about

1. does it have a dimmer switch? like high and low beam? it has a switch that goes to 3 positions.

2. the inside of the copper bulb casing has weird glue inside it but behind the glue theres threads for a threaded bulb. i got it with a bulb that had no thread, just a single wire coming out of it.

3. how would i get this headlight back in service?

and sidenote, i think i have the matching taillight for it too. its small, round, the middle of the glass extends out into a needle shape, and flattens around the edge of the glass. but would like to be sure.
