I'm not a biker as such however, I will be training for a 50 mile bike ride this Summer. And maybe a 120 miler Coast to Coast next year.

I have the Carrera Subway 2 currently. It's ok but the Wheels are quite thick which I assume slows it down. I do struggle uphill on it. And also it's quite rough on bumpy roads. I also feel I got the wrong frame size (m rather than l).

I'm looking to buy something that might be a little easier to ride. I'm looking for something in the 400-500 price range. Any suggestions?

I have been looking at this bike

Is there any point or would it be a waste of money? Is this a better bike? Or would it be better just to buy some new tyres? Any opinions?
