About La Cobertoria from Pola de Lena
La Cobertoria is often used by the Vuelta to soften the legs of the peloton. It is a steep and challenging climb. The ride starts in Pola de Lena and follows the same route as our ride up to Alto de Gamoniteiro. In the beginning the route is quite easy, but after a while the road gets steeper with double-digit gradients. Not crazy difficult like nearby Angliru, but difficult. You find shorter segments of 13 percent and a maximum slope of 14 percent. The segment with double-digit gradients lasts for around five kilometers / three miles and end approximately two kilometers from the top. There are few cars on this route, which makes it a very enjoyable ride. You ride through a typical Asturian landscape with green and lush mountains and beautiful yellow flowers blooming.

Adding music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride…
