I’m new to carbon parts. I’ve always been Ti and Al until buying a carbon gravel bike a few months ago. I had a fairly high speed crash yesterday — mostly laid the bike down with abrasion damage to drop bar end, seat, and derailleur (and more than a bit of arm and hip road rash).

One new hanger and all is fine except for the bars, which have an abrasion on the first 3/4 of an inch of the drop end. I don’t think there was any shock damage — just the act of sliding over asphalt.

Can I just glue / epoxy the damaged section and rewrap? What about just trimming off 3/4 of an inch from each end of the drop bars?

Thanks for any help and feel free to mock me a bit — it was a stupid fall.
