Newer to this sub so here's a throwback to my first trip back in February 2020. I highly recommend this place for anyone near this part of the states. I've now been back a few times to backpack as well, it is beautiful country.
My go to bike and gear have been refined quite a bit since this trip. Looking back on these pictures is a good reminder that you don't need loads of fancy gear to get out and have a great time. This was just my mountainbike at the time with a rear rack and a couple bags thrown on, just a tarp for shelter. I've since upgraded my mountain bike and the bike pictured here has been converted to a dedicated bikepacking rig, which serves alongside my newer all city basketpacker.
Also if anybody has any good recommendations for routes in the midwest, east coast, or southeast U.S. feel free to drop them in the comments/message me. Always looking for somewhere new!
