Hey r/bicycling community!
I’m torn between two used bikes I found in the same price range (~$750) and could use some advice:
-
2017 Specialized Allez E5 Sport:
- Upgraded to an 11-speed Ultegra groupset
- Has cheap carbon wheels from AliExpress
- Lightweight aluminum frame with a race-oriented geometry
- Rim brakes
-
2022 Trek Domane AL 3:
- Stock components (likely Shimano Sora or Tiagra)
- Alpha aluminum frame designed for endurance riding
- Likely comes with disc brakes
- Comfortable, relaxed geometry
I’m looking for a bike that balances performance and comfort. I ride mostly on roads and enjoy long rides
Any insights on which would be a better choice? Thanks!
