We were joined by Welsh paratriathlete Darren Williams and Olympian Helen Jenkins to celebrate the return of the World Triathlon Para Series to Swansea for the third time, and bring swim, bike and run to young people in the local area

I think it’s brilliant to have the event here in Swansea especially for some like myself who follows triathon compete in triathon and to be able to for me to race in the morning in the British 12 run super series and be able to watch the elite in the afternoon is just amazing it’s great to have world class events in the local area and when kids can go down and see worldclass Parry athletes competing in their town I think it’s really going to inspire them to you know go swim bike and run I think when you can see it there you think oh that’s an option for me to go and compete in you know as people want to goow and watch them like that it’s a hell of a thing to watch it’s great you know Inspire the younger athletes older athletes or just anyone really I did a little bit of Trion when I was young I was absolutely terrible and very similar to the setup we have here today for these kids to try doing a triathlon it was very basic kind of just give it a go so I think I knew what triathon was but if I’d had a big event to go and watch I think it would have been incredible cuz those big events you get the atmosphere you get that inspiration for the kids and the fact that they get to compete alongside kind of the parat triathletes on the same day I think really gets people going and really motivates them to just think just think that Triathlon is an option to watch the world’s best athletes come to Swansea and race on my doorstep you know it’s absolutely amazing and for anyone whether you’re got disability or a bodyi to come down and watch these these inspiring athletes the the Pinnacle of their sport the best deers yeah it’s great to have in swanes right there
