In the summer of 2023, my partner and I decided to bike the length of Great Britain from its most south westerly point in England, to the most north-easterly point in Scotland. Starting in Lands’ End and finishing in John O’ groats, we followed the loosely established route known as LEJOG.
Part 2 covers our travels alongside the canals of the Midlands through to the green hills of the Yorkshire Dales and north-west of England.
in the summer of 2023 my partner Mel and I decided to bike the length of Great Britain from the most southwesterly point in England to the most northeasterly point in Scotland we’d made it through the first major leg of the journey from Len to Bristol next stop gler Shire [Applause] [Music] thanks [Music] Helen We’re stopped by a canal on our way to Gloucester we’re a little wet we’re pretty [Music] bored flat tire number six are maybe [Music] s yeah you’re right I think seven not into it I’m waiting in a bike shelter outside of the saintsbury had two plat I crashed today it’s been a long one we haven’t had a day without an event yet I’s going to get some food it’s 5:30 we still got maybe 2 and 1/ half hours of biking to today and the ring won’t stop not the best one he [Music] [Music] [Music] is [Music] it’s [Applause] [Music] perfect let’s just see how closed shall we [Music] [Applause] [Music] not a flat this time just precautions flat number eight day eight yeah day eight doing good time for new [Music] tires something’s wrong there’s a hole in the [Music] clouds Bridge closed for cars pleas [Music] there’s the [Music] key place is amazing [Music] [Applause] [Music] I think this video is going to be mostly uh Mel travels the UK no I should probably take that [Music] very friendly I don’t have food though [Music] [Music] there you [Music] [Music] are made it we made it to the Alexandra Court hotel with a terrible bed but that’s okay it’s a bed yeah any a bed is good bed long day let’s go get food let’s go get [Applause] food it’s another rainy day in paradise uh we’re just getting bikes ready we’re headed for Manchester fingers cross our shoes stay dry that’s the dream they probably won’t [Music] yes pee over straight straight straight through PE [Music] over Ming time look at these cows mching just at our second stop of the day and we made some friends hi [Music] everyone you want to go [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] it first 30k Andrew get of the day we’re feeling [Music] good morning guys [Music] [Music] and then yeah maybe that for deer after yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] that over there [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] stopping for lunch break today’s lunch is buns and guac and guac nice m [Music] oh we’ started this journey not knowing what to expect or how far we’d make it after 2 weeks on the road we’d bike the length of England so if worst came to worst that was still pretty cool we were on Scotland’s doorstep though and a whole lot of beautiful was waiting for us [Music]
