It’s one of the Longest journeys by public transport in the UK.
I start tonight with my @giant @spokes Timmeee bike from my little @gwr station in home counties, take @tfl Elizabeth line to central London.
There’s the comfortable bed on overnight @caledoniansleeper to Glasgow, breakfast time three hour @scotrail to Oban and a spectacular 5 hour @calmac ferry to the Western Isles arriving Castlebay (whiskey Galore country) on Isle of Barra at sundown nearly 24 hours after leaving home
All this to cycle and paint #hebrideanway 200 miles or so along Britain’s Atlantic coast in October.
Around 10 islands by causeways and ferries…. with stories and paintings to follow.
I’m standing on the station platform at 8:00 at night here’s my bike I’m setting off on a bit of Adventure the pal just stopped me outside and said uh where you off to then looks like an all night cycling adventure and I said I’m off to the hdes said oh that’s in stages is it yes it is wish me luck it’s quite a long journey
