Been wanting to build a big tire bike for commuting on rough roads and the occasional dirt path and hopping curbs. Thought you guys might appreciate. Found a 90s aluminum trek 7000 on marketplace for 100 bucks and my friends at the LBS helped piece together as many used parts as possible. Originally wanted to build a 650b wheelset but I scored a brand new 26" dynamo wheel a customer didn't want on their townie bike! Only new parts are the tires, grips, and threadless adapter. (And new ball bearings in the original BB and headset). Went with the "panaracer pasela touring" tires in 26×1.75 (42mm) . Id like to change the rear 7 speed cassette for something with more range and I plan on upgrading from the cheap dynamo light to a Busch muller or similar.
