the final stage of the tour to Hungary could tbes the young Superstar on little Trek Defenders leaders jersey against Riders like Bookman here she there’s also other rers that could attack him in the good weather on stage five we’ve got a hilly circuit including a 2K 10% climb which they do three repetitions of finishing on top of it or about 2/3 the way up as well in PEX it reminds me actually of Mount cther a little bit uh beautiful city uh and we’ve seen some pretty good racing actually in it’s tight racing with uh ulissi only 14 seconds behind nce and Bookman only 16 seconds behind so little treack controlling the Breakaway August was on like 239 or something the inos rider in the Breakaway so they couldn’t let it get out of control and so it’s 115 when they hit the first repetition of that climb good to see all the fans out on the side of the road and UAE with arietta already start pushing on the first of three reps uliss is on the radio saying you’re going too hard slow down Cav was in the break actually uh trying to get points or maybe from the intermediate Sprint so he takes the uh points Jersey from the race with the Breakaway then keeps its Advantage after arietta slows down a bit because Baron Chini is not there and so it’s just HEI and ulissi for another hour of plus of racing left the group’s already very small so they obviously went very very hard on that first climb but whilst they do want a launch AR yet uh ulissi and hisi they’re going to need some more Riders to do that on the final climb so they wait Baron Chini comes back there’s a few few attacks on The Descent in between the cines nothing too serious van hamler and Kell O’Brien are the strongest from the break away and will stay out ahead here’s the second rep UAE go again ulissi a little bit deeper it’s Baron Chini that went that time and then it runs the pluses because yeah like here she can’t go with 22k to go with the group this big Bookman will marking vek is there for TBO nce well PS though he’s happy to have a dig the man that was snubbed for a Jiro spot or at least it was not selected by barin Victorious showing very very good shape the same way bman has this race would have been interesting to see even on uh stage 10 on Tuesday the likes of Bookman and polls in the Breakaway there they catch August who is a GC threat from The Rake Frank vandenbrook definitely want to watch for the future he goes with PS the Dutch double uh looking over the shoulder and hson coming through on the other side for q36.5 pro cycling p stops again on the climb and so just like last year it’s all going to be down to the final climb everyone checking in with their leaders and domestiques now talking to AR uh arietta talking to he she here she sort of seems seemingly doesn’t want to hear it uh Bookman conveying the message to zof and his Bor teammates and last year tallet attacked early on this climb and then here she wound him back and attacked over the top of him to win the stage and of course then the general classification and it’s like can he do it today can t Beres hold up under pressure on it’s not a it is a Punchy finish but the way they’ve ridden the stage with multiple repetitions it’s yeah it’s a steep climb and so we’ve got the climbers could they put that the young puncher under pressure and that’s what Baron Chini former U23 world champion is trying to do 1.9k to go is here is she going to step off him sort of not really cuz voff actually attacked over the top of Baron chinii there’s no big move and it looked like here she was didn’t have the same snap this year or maybe the others just a better level Bookman in the wheel nce sliding a little bit but doing really well then Bookman goes again and now the UAE one two with HEI and ulissi actually looks the other way around they’re getting attacked and nce is happily sitting in the wheel of the less explosive GC guys like Bookman getting towed away to maybe a stage Victory but definitely protecting his GC lead hon scotson with him he’s normally not worried about those sort of guys if it comes down to a Sprint and there’s a gap puls is trying to CL his way back he doesn’t get back until very very late ven Brook with HEI and now it’s like does Hy wait for ulissi who was not following as easily and does he bring him back to this group who might not work so well in the end with about 900 me to go bman attacks again and it does seem to be that way here she Paces with ulissi because you least he’s on the podium on GC in second and maybe if he comes back he can come over the top and you know 10 bonies or 4 second Gap I don’t know but n has to chase Bookman cuz he’s on 16 seconds so 10 bonus seconds plus a small Gap at the line means tibon could be losing GC he’s got to close down Bookman and that the others in his wheel can profit from that you can see it’s not all the way steep to the Finish Bookman because of that attack starts the longest Sprint uphill 200 M to go nce doesn’t have the explosivity anymore after the climbers of Zapped his legs and while PS who loves a hilly race with a long agonizing Sprint at the end wins the stage ahead of hon kind of reminds me of P’s Sprint to win that Welter stage in uh the outskirts of Madrid last year and see where he comes from into the will hon around him nce looks like he’s actually up to speed with pulls but then he just has to sit down he just either was already about getting boxed but the fact that bookin beats him seems that ton actually run out ran out of steam and was on the limit so who knows what could happened with maybe another K on on a climb but there wasn’t he defends GC well PS wins the stage and uh it’s a big GC victory for the young Belgian but as you can see the PS house and Bookman TBO group gets put on a 5-second advantage to Frank vanderbrook and ul’s group Scots and Van hookahi ler locks round out the top 10 here’s what PS had to say after the stage yeah I was suffering really a lot I was all the time on a small Gap but I could manage to do my own pace and uh then in the last 150 went flat out and yeah took the win it was a help that U uh the beginning of the of the Hill you do you did uh two times before uh the last uh up yeah and the second last climb I was trying to force a little bit to split the group more but not uh yeah didn’t really work out so then I saved all my energy for the last climb and uh I mean it was amazing atmosphere with all the people next to the road and really nice to finish the tour of Hungary with a stage Victory but in terms of GC that Gap was pivotal with Bookman moving into second PS moving into third 1 second ahead of ulissi in fourth and here she very very exciting race some good quality Riders battling out around the hills in Hungary hope you enjoyed the video and I’ll see you with maybe a tour of Turkey Video sometime this week until then ciao

  1. Shame that Buchman is not on the Giro. If he is that good on these types of climbs he would be huge on the longer Giro climbs

  2. The tactical maturity Nys is showing at the age of 21 (Van Der Poel took much more to become wise under this point of view) projects him towards a future of great success…

  3. Never seen Buchmann so strong since tdf 2019 and those stages didnt even suit him that much. A shame that he wasnt selected for the giro although there was definitely space in the squad.

  4. Very impressed by Buchmann, I have to say. As a Bora fan I haven't been his biggest supporter, but here he looked really strong, haven't seen that in a long time. But like you guys said on the podcast, who knows if he would have shown that same form in the Giro, I'd say he isn't renown for being the best team mate/domestique. The anger about the exclusion proper fueled him I guess. Too bad he didn't win a stage.

  5. I was out at different spots on Bárány street for the 3 laps. Proud to be from Pécs, I think the atmosphere was amazing, really a lot of people showed up.
Also funny -or sad-, at the second lap at around ~2/3rds of the climb a Corratec rider was struggling hard behind the main group. Just as he reached our spot his team car caught up to him and gave out a sticky bottle. It was surreal to see, like 2015 vuelta with Nibali, they just pulled him up at 30kmh where other struggled going 15kmh.

  6. Q365 grabbing Howson is a real moneyball move. Underutilized as a puncheur at jayco and surely the best $/points on that top 5.

  7. Lantern, look at the above shots at the end when Nys had to sit down. If you look close he keeps looking down like he has a mechanical and then watch closely the back tire it looks like he got a puncture!!! What do you think?

  8. People cheer for Emu's performance but I am actually low-key upset: Where was this in the last years? Now it's too late, Bora will not extend him 😑
