Hello Everyone.
I am sick and tired of throwing away wheels of this calibre(Have done three pairs in 7 years).
I would like to know what glue is used to assemble the aluminium rim and the carbon fairing(shroud in other languages).
1st…Is there any possibility to unglue, and preserve a part the carbon fairing? Looks new to me with not a slice pf scratch.
2nd…I have bought myself a TIG soldering unit with everything for Aluminium and AL6066 alloys to work through. Is there a possibility to solder the rim to repair the fissures (on the bottom part of the rim propagating both sides from the holes for the spoke head) ?
3rd….Has anyone out there tried riveting? If yes what type of rivet and material to eradicate the fissure?
