Nortwestern Germany is well connected with the rest of Europe and has good train, ferry and plane connections. The tour described in the video was made along the Kiel Canal Route (Nord-Ostsee-Kanal-Route) which follows the stretch of the canal between Brunsbüttel at the North Sea and Kiel at the Baltic Sea. It takes several routes through the landscape and is total 314km compared to the 100km of the canal. The loops are well worth cycling and takes you through the countryside, through forests, wetlands and meadows. The trip was made with light packing during a long weekend in the beginning of May and the weather was mainly sunny and dry with daytime temperatures ranging from 15-20C.
