river Avon statford upon Avon is a perfect place to visit if you’re a big fan of Shakespeare and English literature after all this was the birthplace of the wonderful poet and naturally the town has been attracting art and theater Fanatics for more than 250 years you can visit all the houses relating to Shakespeare in and around Stratford upon Avon including Shakespeare’s birthplace Hathaway’s Cottage and Gardens or even Nash’s house after that you can spend the rest of the day along the river Avon just enjoying the town [Music] itself the Peak District National Park is the oldest National world and during the second world war Lincoln was the heart of bomber country the city was home to numerous air bases and Lincoln cathedral was a popular navigation Beacon Lichfield tucked away in the heart of Staffordshire lies a Charming city of Lichfield which offers quite a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life steeped in history it’s a compact City but it’s an absolute gem for history and those seeking a tranquil getaway lichfield’s claim to fame is its stunning medieval Cathedral a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that great es the city’s Skyline so Lichfield is small but it’s big on History Shrewsberry pretty sure that many around the world have never heard of this town and it’s big enough to be interesting but small enough to have maintained its charm Shrewsberry has a fascinating history it was the birthplace of a super famous scientist that you may have heard of Charles Darwin he was a naturalist who developed the theory of natural elction and is regarded as one of history’s most famous biologists so there are plenty of things to do around Shrewsberry you can wander the very tight medieval streets or even visit a prison which was decommissioned in 2013 kennworth castle if you ever wanted to see one of the country’s most formidable medieval fortresses then you have to visit kennworth Castle an imposing Sandstone ruin just on the edge of kennworth town it’s famous for being the home of Robert Dudley the Earl of Lester who was a childhood friend of Queen Elizabeth ey yet had a close and complex relationship although much of it has gone to ruin there are still walking trails Grand Manor houses and nice Gardens to visit it’s definitely well worth your time Ironbridge this sits within the Ironbridge Gorge a onesco world heritage site and it’s famous for its Iron Bridge which was built in 1779 and was the first arch bridge in the world made of cast iron this is widely considered as the birthplace of the Industrial
