Hello everyone,

I plan to buy my first road bike soon (if I ever make up my mind). I am currently riding a Cannondale Quick 1 (2XL), which has served me well. Due to my progression toward doing longer and more efficient rides, I would like to make the transition to an endurance road bike. For now, I have narrowed my decision down to the [Specialized Roubaix SL8 Sport Apex](https://www.specialized.com/us/en/roubaix-sl8-sport-apex/p/221994?color=367283-221994&searchText=94424-6364) and the [Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 LE](https://www.cannondale.com/en-us/bikes/road/endurance/synapse-carbon/synapse-carbon-2-le). Both of these brands remain at the top of my list due to my preferred local bike shop supporting them, but I am certainly open to other suggestions. I landed on these specific models because I recently made the mistake of testing a bike with electronic shifting (Shimano 105 Di2), which I loved.

I am 6’7, so size is somewhat of a factor. The largest Roubaix is a 64, which is listed as being appropriate for riders between 6’5 and 6’9. The largest Synapse is a 61, which is listed as being appropriate for riders between 6’3 and 6’8. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything even remotely similar to these bikes in my size to test. I have ridden similar bikes from both brands in smaller sizes, but it has been fairly difficult to judge since proper fit makes so much of a difference. I primarily ride on paved surfaces in Florida, so gearing for significant inclines isn’t too much of a concern for me. I am mainly looking for a sensible combination of speed and comfort that I can continue to grow into as I work toward becoming a better cyclist.

Assuming they are the same price, since the Synapse has been fluctuating, which bike would you suggest?

Thank you!
