Hey everyone! Glad to be here. I grew up mountain biking with my dad, whom I lost nearly 8 years ago, about 5 years prior to his passing he bought a shiny new schwinn rocket that he was so proud of. It’s been stored in a closet since he passed and I have recently decided to get back into riding again to rest from my daily skateboarding habit some. That being said, the schwinn I inherited from him is a great bike, albeit a bit dated. Sadly the rear shock is blown out, but other than that rides wonderfully. ’m debating on if I should do some small things like replacing the shock, wider bars and a clamp to support them, and a dropper seat. I’ve already replaced the pedals with a set of flats. Roughly $350 worth of parts. Or if I should go for a used trek marlin or something similar? I love the full suspension aspect and know that I won’t get into a full suspension bike for anywhere near the price range. I’ve attached pictures to this post of the bike.
