  1. There is a town in Newfoundland, Canada that's called Dildo. Jimmy Kimmel heard of it and tried to become mayor
    I enjoy the podcasts

  2. I started cycling in November and I bought a second hand mtb. My mate told me people are gonna make fun of me when I show up in lycra. I retorted "You've worked with me for 6 years, do you think I give a —- what other people say?" "Yeah I know but they can be quite harsh", "No worries, I'll just change subject to their moms".
Curiously it did happen, and the change of subject just ended it on the spot"

  3. Unfortunately there are thousands of people making these ridiculous complaints, belittling and insulting people all over the internet in all types of social media. The Billy Nomates "Keyboard Warriors" would never say anything like it to someones face.

  4. Pratts bottom in Kent (an ex-girlfriend while we were 'parked' for an hour or so) said that the small private tree-lined road with expensive houses on it was known locally as Upper Pratt's Bottom 😅

  5. i got to admit, I got myself some velosamba over a year ago, because I did not want to swap out my xtr pedals on my gravel bike when doing commutes. from my experience, they are a good option if you really can't show up in cycling kit at the destination, like work/uni or whatever. they don't look like cycling shoes which, frankly, always make you look like a doofus to the uninitiated non-cyclists.
they are a bit stiff but have a quick walk in time after which they are good. you should neither expect a trainer, nor a cycling shoe. I use them to ride to university/work. haven't had any issues except, that the sole seems to be rather soft and it gets cut by the xtr pedals. might differ with other pedals though.

  6. I visit my sister in the south of France 2-3 times per year. I take great joy (as a Swede) in show casing my fetish for the Belgian national jersey. Most of the time I get grief from the French drivers but every now and then I get the odd honk from a Belgian driver. 46 year old chubby middle aged man.

  7. I'm with Jimmy . cliff bars are my main snack for group rides. If a ride won't allow me to eat a cliff bar while riding, it's not worth doing!

  8. Clif Bars: I used to love them. Took them on many backpacking trips. One by one they just put me off. You chew, but your body decides it can't swallow. I am down to just one flavor that doesn't give me a gag reflex.

  9. Your group dynamics are mad 👍. You guys are so smooth (or the editing is so good) that you don’t speak over each other as you debate a topic. Soooo funny too 😂.. excellent stuff, very enjoyable 👏👏👏

  10. Thermal shorts are great for cyclocross. Wouldn’t wear them on a road ride. Cross speeds are typically a lot lower (so the rest of your legs are okay being exposed) but nice to keep a bit warm in the nether regions, so to speak….

  11. As per group rides and social cycling stuff, as an oldster, I really don't care about fitting in to some sort of cycling etiquette of a group. I just want to ride, and I do it mostly by myself – and really enjoy just being alone on my bicycle. Nice dog, btw. 🙂
