Hey everyone,
I’m currently torn between two options for my bikepacking setup: [the Arkel Dry-Lites – Waterproof Bags](https://arkel.ca/products/dry-lites-saddle-bags) and the [Ortlieb Gravel Packs](https://www.ortlieb.com/de_de/gravel-pack+F9984). Both seem like solid choices, but I’m having trouble making a decision.
One advantage of the Arkel bags is that they’re about 500g (20.5oz) lighter than the Ortlieb ones, which could make a noticeable difference on long rides. However, I’m a bit concerned about how practical it is to attach and detach the Arkel bags from the rack. Does anyone have experience with this aspect?
On the other hand, the Ortlieb Gravel Packs are renowned for their durability and ease of use. But is the weight difference worth sacrificing for these benefits?
If anyone has used either of these bags, or better yet, both, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Which one would you recommend for someone looking for a balance between weight and functionality?
Thanks in advance for your help!
