You can put that rear light on the end of that rack, vertically rather that horizontally
Magnetic sensors are to detect when you are peddling so as to activate your motor and cut out at the maximum speed: ie 15.5 mph.
Dan the magnetic sensor will be on the crank so it knows when your pedalling or not for the battery

Like your Ted gear looks good. I guess if you had a longer coat and the light was attached to the seat it would cover it, mind you not a lot better where it is,
