So I’m planning on purchasing one of these road bikes for my partner as a surprise, but I’m torn because of a few factors. Both are aluminium frames.

The White bike is a Fausto Coppi (rebadged as a De Rosa) from the early 90’s. It comes with a 9 speed veloce Groupset and a pair of nice wheels. I know it will ride nicely and shift accurately which is a big plus being the first road bike my partner will use. The condition of the frame and the group set looks great from the Ad which is another plus point. The Coppi does not have drop out eyelets for rack compatibility.

Bike number 2 is the Greg LeMond Nevada, with an 8 speed Shimano Sora + Suntour superbe triple crank. I’ve never rode one of these frames before so unsure if they’re handling and feel. Also they’re lower price points on eBay 2nd hand don’t suggest many favours compared to other similar bikes if that era. The bikes suntour superbe triple makes this bike desirable for hill climbs and use ability so that’s a nice plus point for the LeMond. The lemonade condition seems worse off too. LeMond has comparability for rear and front racks because of the drop out eyelets 👍

The primary uses of the bike will be for quite country lane cycling mixed with some light hills in the north of England.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions,

James
