Well, “underbiking” might be a bit of an overstatement because this bike rips on these flowy beginner trails, even though it’s not most people’s idea of a trail bike. (People not named Grant Peterson anyway). The steel frame, springy Brooks Flyer saddle, and fatty rubber Oury grips did a really nice job soaking up the trail chatter while the long, low geo was nice and planted. I do wish for a bit more clearance for fatter tires, but otherwise the BG R&Rs performed fantastically in the dirt. The rest is just picking good lines and keeping the rubber side down. Anyway, it was a beautiful day and lovely ride. Xbiking at its best.
