    Bikepacking To The Gods: An Epic Greek Cycling Odyssey



    Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece and the mythical home of the Greek gods. At 2,917 metres in altitude, getting to the top is no mean feat, but that is exactly what Conor and Hank are doing. Starting in the city of Thessaloniki, they will bikepack along the coast before climbing to the summit. In every sense of the word, this is a true cycling epic!

      20:00. The camera man couldn’t drive up the path so they’re on their own and carrying all the equipment but the camera can change position by itself 🤫🤨😂

      I didn't expect such quiet roads in Greece. What a beautiful ride! What was your solution for water? I feel like it's one of the biggest challenges when it comes to going off the beaten path.

      That's a great video guys! So everybody knows about the greek island and beaches, but no one knows that Greece is about 80% mountains, wild, pristine and seriously beautiful!

      Amazing topography and the mountain is out of this world. However, as a mountain climber in California and Nevada this will be a no-no. Some point you have to give up the bike. I thought you guys took it a little too far up. But than again this is a bike YouTube channel. As a Greek from Pelopponesus this is now on my bucket list to climb. It is more than i thought of Mount Olympus. It is majestic and beautiful and definitely not a walk in the park. Beautiful adventure. Thank you. Opa!

      It speaks volumes of how useless the greek tourism corporation is that they haven't managed to organise and run a decent Tour of Greece race. So many places to showcase to viewers and challenge riders.

      Cowboy coffee. Full boil for 3 min and then turn it off. Let set for a min and then poor about two oz of cool water on the top. Doing this it will Knock the grounds to the bottom. Enjoy. Great video

      Well done great Vid, I am British but live in Thessaloniki. I bike pack through central mainland Greece every summer, I get that you had to do Olympus as it is the most famous peak but there are actually much more spectacular on and off road bike packing routes from Pindos mountains through Tsoumerka, Agrafa and Karpenisi down to Delphi. All that takes about 10 days but is stunning. Greece is the Secret bike packing paradise. Shhh dont tell anyone.😁

      Fair play guys, I used to live not far away from the area and I really miss those quiet roads. Try Pindus (Epirus and Western Macedonia) next time around, from the house of Gods to the gates of Hades.

      Greece is brilliant place to ride. Greeks will tell you that you'd be mad for cycling there, but I found the roads to feel generally safer than the UK and the surfaces are super smooth, with huge climbs/descents all over the place. I stayed several months in Athens and found some of the best climbs I've ever ridden right out of the city. Combine that with gorgeous sea to cool off in, it's perfect.
