Foreign to the Third Edition of the scale the prize 131 and a half kilometers for the riders today we are very much in classic season it’s Wednesday it must be Belgium go to today for the scale of prize it’s 8 degrees Celsius just a three kilometer an hour wind

That the Riders will be contending with today so nothing too major for the Riders to worry about the winner for the last two years Lorena vivis is back and ready to defend her title and she has got some fast finishes to contend with today in let’s get out

Of prize not part of the Women’s World Tour but here are your world tour rankings so Lorena V is still at the top a hit of lotta kepeki fabulous around the vanlander victory at the weekend but also a longer boudini Georgie Sprat bothering Vander down Persico and brown all still in the top

10 in the Women’s World Tour and of course where do we go this Saturday but to Parry urvey so make sure you put that in your Diaries and join us this Saturday for the Perry Ruby classic let’s go down to the start Martin McDonald and Danny Christmas with you to

Take you through today’s uh race action this is uh AWOL or Shea team from Great Britain Charlotte Broughton Jess Finney Libby Smithson Emily meakin Frankie Morgan Slater and Cindy Sam Michelle mavic over 93 Simona boylada was in the break last year the proximus Alpha motor hoverboards team watch out for Marga Lopez Lotto

Destiny you’re uh you’ve got them today uh Christia Boulevard Julie Hendricks Enis vanderpart team and they have Valentina Basilica Letizia and zorsha Sarah wnt fast team Francesca browser and then Ariana along with crather and schweinberger the AG Insurance next gu23 Squad Samira kanavan is a lint outfit

Had a good ride here last year was quite active UAE with Kiara consoni carbonari Holden Zanetti and travisi Kiara consoni in the team and it is the return the much anticipated return of to Neil Campbell the uh national champion of Trinidad and Tobago for Jayco a Luna Nina Kessler

Amber Pate Leticia paternoster Alyssa politis Chelsea tan uh the jaycar Lula team great to see tenure back in the race live racing with rakali Barbieri backed up by Berman Justin with Santa can’t he only lives about seven kilometers from the course with Flora Perkins near Martins Israel Premier Tech Irish National Champion

There Alice sharp they have also got Carolina Bauer the Swiss national champion in the team and then the European Champion back in her European Champions Jersey if you’ve been with us for the last few races of course she has been in that World Tour leaders jersey

And Loreno Rivas backed up here what a team Misha breed of old Barbara garishki Marlon Royce fencing Marcus and lonica urn again it’s her race to lose today you would say Danny it certainly is the the pressure is certainly on the team of SD Works to to deliver another Victory

With the Lorena weebus to make it three from three so we would uh bet against her doing that today the rollout uh from the start and the Riders they have a big loop to take at the about 50.8 kilometers to go is when we will cross the finish line for the first

Time and then we have our three local laps to contend with the flag dropped and was pulled in and it was fairly active from the flag drop but nothing really managing to get away in the first hours of racing yeah we saw a number of riders trying to get away

Um as you mentioned in those first kilometers but it seems to have calmed down considerably in the Peloton now let’s take you through the course so the course we remain in Belgium and the loop through uh through the Belgian Kemper via campout and fluster basil heading towards Hogue Stratton and then in to

The finishing circuit three laps of 16.9 kilometers we do have some cobblestones the uh job sustain Vic or it’s 65.4 to go and then we have a section of cobblestones the brook struts coming with 59 42.1 25.2 and 8.3 kilometers uh respectively for them so starting to get uh some more

Attacks Riders Keen to try and get clear here and the colors of archaea off the front and more treasury uh young Rider from France it’s a really aggressive move by the young archaea Rider just 19 years old is Treasury had some good wins last year did

Treasury won that uh the Sarat is it Junior race is this Mica docks uh also coming across from uh Lotto destiny and we had a big we did have a big well a three Rider Breakaway Groove last year that went clear with a with 106k to go

And stayed away for right really close to to the Finish yeah it was a it was a really aggressive race uh at the beginning of last year we saw Abby Smith um away for well over a hundred kilometers uh with Simone Bill Allard who is also in this race this year so

She’ll be looking to uh to repeat a a good performance in this race but it looks like we have got a uh a group starting to go clear you can see the uh the effort in the Palatine to try and close that Gap now yeah so just being uh controlled you can

See you and you will see how much SD works I will want to try and control this one uh just some of you are a team to Roma Talia battle bikes Viana you can see in those uh bright yellow and green colors they’ve got the likes of Francesca Balducci in the team Francesca

Barroni is also there russellavite is also in that team dual La Cheval Mia are here life plus one who Park Hotel valkenburg uh Team Coop high-tech products top girls faster Bartolo we’ve got the Grand desk fabric team and the stud Rochelle Mara team squat as well as

GT crush rebellies and a v that’s uh we call them the embattled zaf team in their black and bronze colors um they are here Maggie Cole’s list a martyr romance Lucia Garcia Deborah Silvestri Emmanuel Zanetti and uh Epps Zayed from Egypt national champion of uh Egypt in

The race it’s a tough time and it’s a tough call isn’t it for for the zaf Riders they’re they’re here there’s all the the the news around that the Riders haven’t been paid in Audrey Cordon Rago has left now and other Riders now a move trying to find other teams

And it there’s it’s that sort of question is oh why are they still riding but the Riders if they can still race they’ve got to give themselves an opportunity to come to something like skelder prize with a fast finisher like Maggie Cole’s list or something like that grab a Podium and perhaps find

Themselves a new home yeah it’s a it’s a horrendous situation that we’re hearing about from the zaf cycling team that as you mentioned the Riders haven’t been paid for for the whole of the year um but yeah as you say it is a difficult situation and as a bike rider you know

They haven’t got that many options necessarily so yeah of course you know you’ve done all the training so you want to get out and race um but it’s just a really fine balance for the Riders but you know the best way for them to to get a new contract and

Find a new team is to to let their legs do the talking and and deliver some good results some good performances in the bike races themselves and yeah that’s obviously what they’re here to do it’s an account there wearing number 11 didn’t have far to come today

Um to the to the race live seven kilometers from the circuit and it uh Santa the three-time World Cycle across Champion if you don’t join us in the winter for cycle across make sure you do this winter but you wear 124 career cycle across victories Santa can’t and uh 32

Now still managed to take the Belgian national cyclocross title and I think it’s great to see Santa out on the road and looking to now just kind of looking at how cyclocross is changing and how dominant she was in her career and just looking at you know how she can sort of

Add to her career and add to the skill set that she has in the winter and essentially for a longer for a longer career by a considerable amount yeah I mean Santa can’t is a real legend of Belgian cycling you know she’s a she’s a real superstar in Belgium itself so it’s

Really great to to see her on the road and you know she’s she’s always been there kind of in this I’m a riding compasses and you know performing in Belgium but now that we get to see her in this Fenix sticker team and last year was planter pure it’s it’s really great

That we can see them performing at the highest level in road racing you know she took sit from GC in the touring at all last year and you know she’s she’s got such a wealth of experience that yeah it’s brilliant to see her you know

For us road racing fans to to see her on the road as well as on the cross I just saw Deborah Silvestri from zaf just heading uh back to the team car a lot of chat going on around the front and I you know I looked down the the makeup of

This zap team and and I think what I mean I’m you know what upsets me most I think about the situation is if you look at Deborah Sylvester who was with top girls basketball to low and uh Emmanuela Zanetti who’s with esel monts and you look at those Riders and you look at

Those teams and the kind of career progression given where a lot of variety at least along the wallgini started her career in in Faster Bartolo and and Guy railini has just come through isomon primac Victoria you know and so what that situation has done when you get

Offered a contract with more money which is fine and a proper salary and you you promise these things is that they’ve been taken out of that pathway that was already helping them get to where they ultimately needed to go yeah it’s it’s devastating for Riders particularly you

Know as you mentioned when they’re on the upward trajectory and progressing in their career that it takes such a massive hit and it can take Riders a considerable amount of time you know many seasons to almost recover from a situation such as this it’s very similar

To the situation we had a few years ago with the Casa Dorada team which never really materialized and promised the world to the Riders and and just never really came to fruition so unfortunately it’s not really a massive surprise to a lot of riders I think the tour you know

People within cycling that there were a number of question marks that were put against the team when it was first announced and it’s just incredibly disappointing that this situation is able to to play out you know it’s not like it happens every year but it does

Happen far too much in the world of cycling that yeah that Riders are left disappointed but Mika docks on the attack again we’ve seen her on the attack time and time again this season is obviously uh loving her New Freedom that she has in the lotto Destiny team

We saw her taking a best result in La salmon just a couple of months ago finishing in ninth place there is really coming into our own now yeah she’s been super aggressive there’s a lot of focus within the lotto Destiny team now on development and the

And the future when you look on their website you look on their you know a lot of the the team they’re just very much focused on building you know giving themselves not that doesn’t see you know it’s there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of pressure there

You know you which I think sometimes is motivation in itself the natural oil to win just plays out there without having to go into races where you’ve got a Lorena Weavers and you’ve got a lot to call and you think right what are we going to get out of this

Race today and I think sometimes that just breeds a completely different you know a great atmosphere within a team and and you become you know you just become a really really really strong unit um without that massive pressure of thinking because not everyone can go in

And win straight away can they no that’s right but I think it’s also about learning how how we can win how we can best play the cards that we have because as you mentioned you don’t go into every race with a hot favorite or you know necessarily be billed as a team that

That would take the victory but you have to try and find a way to achieve the best possible result so you know that’s part of the puzzle of bike racing and that’s why we love it as well because you know it’s not well sometimes we can

Predict the outcome of a race you just never know so you never know if a breakaway can make it all the way to the Finish you know there’s always a chance so I think that’s what we love about cycling so much is that you know there

Is always a way and if you can possibly achieve that as a team then go for it Mika docks joined at the front are faster Portillo team top girls basketball to learn now joining up at the front 77 kilometers to go so the start of a good Duo of riders who are clear

A little flick of the elbow for Mika docs to come through see the reaction on the front Park Hotel falconburg just a reaction on the front and this course has plenty of twists and turns that we’ve got around the the route today yeah we’ve got a number of

Number of kind of hoping that the early part of the race might be influenced a little bit by the wind but uh that isn’t to be today because the wind we’re looking at around eight kilometers an hour but certainly when we get into our finishing circuit which is 16.9

Kilometers in length we have a number of cobbled sections and as you say a lot of a lot of twists and turns as well so two Riders clear good uh Duo one Rider now coming across we’ve got one of the AEG insurance next G U23 development team Riders

Cheers trying to come across the Gap I think this is Laura crestinello but I’ll I have not seen a lot of the um the faster Portillo Riders so far this season so I’m taking a I’m taking a bit of a jumper that one but we’ll get

Confirmation we just kind of we get to know them sometimes as the year goes on don’t we especially in races such as this so so you can see their AG Insurance u20 next G U23 team getting on the attack trying to get clear here archaea on the front

And if you can constantly trying to get clear with their uh young Rider Maureen treasury way it’s Alicia Palazzi my apology that is clear it’s early Palazzi is clear here for top girls fast support to Luke and this team as we said moments ago they are a really strong development

Team within uh within Italy and 21 year old Palazzi is now clear just down the back and he got dixtra there from the the GT Crush team so our team uh GTA cross rebelies is that team the meek dots from Lotto Destiny and Alicia Palazzi says Danny said best results ninth in

The recent edition of La salmon and she’s been one of those Riders as well isn’t she she’s been around for for quite a few years within the Peloton weekend yeah I rode with her kind of way back when when I first started riding in Belgium back in in 2015 uh just within a

Belgium club team then and she already showed a lot of promise you know as a very young Rider then but it’s been really nice to see her you know just really trying to take the opportunities that she can this year she knows she’s got a relatively fast finish on her but

You know it’s not going to compare in this race to the likes of Lorena weebus and Charlotte are cool so just trying to go on the attack and we’ve seen that multiple times this year um particularly in you know races such as Japan or where it was almost trying to anticipate

Um the separate the the crosswind sections um and trying to get ahead of the race then so she’s certainly not afraid to go on the attack as we’re seeing they are starting to open up a bit of a gap as we’re seeing a couple of riders trying to come across

So plenty of teams trying to get themselves in on the action here and Alicia Palazzi from the top girls festival to low team so uh we we do see this team quite a lot in the season one of the races that we see them a lot in is the girodonne and

Our colleague elenia from Italy uh just shared with us just before we came on air um jirodon they just a press release that went out it’s good news that good news that it that is happening um the other news is that we’ll have to wait until the April the 30th to know

What stages we’re tackling this year’s General Don they bet the regions involved are Tuscany Emilia romagna Piedmont leguria and Sardinia so uh just looking at those regions alone I’m thinking we’re gonna have a good we’re gonna have a good route I think yeah it’s gonna be a good route but yeah

Obviously it’s it is slightly disappointing that we have to wait until almost the end of April to get the stages for that because it is in July and you know the the planning will have already happened in terms of you know the teams looking at what kind of riders

They want to send to the zero and you know if you don’t know what the stages are like you know we can Hazard a guess that there’s going to be a number of mountain top finishes or mountainous stages but it makes it really difficult for the

Teams to to really plan a you know the best possible race calendar for the Riders if you don’t know what the stages are like already so um yeah but at the end of the day it’s good that it is happening unfortunately we’ve just recently uh heard that we’ve lost the

Women’s tour for this year which is a massive blow to the women’s Paladin but I’m really good to hear that this year I will in fact go ahead uh we’re just waiting to see what brutalities are on the menu for July yeah it is yeah big shame the women’s taught in Great

Britain taking a one-year hiatus hiatus we are being told hopefully it will be back uh next year it’s been always been and it was a massive part of the growth of ultimately where we where we are now yeah they really set the standard um in the women’s store you know the

Just the way that the organization really treated the women and you know everything about the organization within the race was really top-notch and good quality so it is it is a shame um yeah as you mentioned is kind of Paving the way you know when we looked

At before the days that we would have you know so much coverage as we get now you know they were one of the first that would produce you know every day there would be a highlights package and a really well produced One at that so yeah it is a massive shame

Um and we just really hope that the women’s tour are able to recover and come back for 2024 and you know bigger and better and one of the things that everyone always took away I mean we could write it slightly biased because we’re both British but one thing that

Everyone took away early on was how huge the crowds were yeah yeah it was brilliant and you know particularly the way that the organization were able to engage with with the local community communities and really promoting the race and women cycling in all of the the towns or Villages it’s that the race

Visited along the way so always having the the school children out on site it was uh yeah it’s really nice when you’re riding through and you can see uh that it’s kind of three deep in uh in school kids that are obviously you know probably pretty happy that they get to

Miss Maths for half an hour to watch The Bike Race come through but nevertheless it really added to to the atmosphere I wouldn’t have complained about that no I wouldn’t love that I wouldn’t have had any issue at all we’ve momentarily just uh getting some aerial shots here 72 kilometers to go

Here in Chicago um the uh I’m sure we’ll go back down momentarily if you’re just tuning in welcome aboard it’s the third edition of Chicago price and it’s 131 and a half kilometers today starting a finishing in skirting and the first passage of the line will come with 50.8 kilometers to

Go then we take in our local laps of three laps of 16.9 kilometers and we have a section of cobblestones on each lap that the Riders do tackle and uh what a field that we have assembled for you today Lorena Rivas can anyone prevent her from doing the hat trick

This is the third edition of this race and she has won the first tea which she’ll have her uh work cut out we’ll run you through whatever while we’re just Meandering around the countryside from the helicopter uh through some of the teams that we could be uh looking at

For for some fast finishes Israel Premier Tech and uh t-tac noise that we’re uh expect we would love to see Ava run out in a Sprint everyone just caught hollering that it’s gonna narrow down there around that Central reservation you could hear everyone just letting everyone know behind that it narrowed

Down some Riders uh going wider we have had a crash unfortunately it’s t-tat that’s gone down unfortunately what a shame right that’s it Marty you may not say any Riders names now I’m not allowed to say anyone now um but uh oh what a shame as we just see our Rider here just

Trying to get their chain back on one of the stad Rocher Lake Sharon Mara team Riders just trying to get the chain back on and it’s uh Marine alione let’s back up and riding there so everyone back up quickly and on their way let’s hope they can uh they can get

Themselves back in there there was just a lot of hollering as they came into that quarter at speed there yeah you could just see that there was some Road furniture on the exit off the turn which you don’t necessarily see until you’re kind of Midway like around the apex of

The turn so uh yeah it’s essentially the ride is trying to look after themselves that they will shout a warning for the Riders behind because you know the riders in front will have a clear view of what’s coming up but when you’re sort of even three four Riders back you can’t

See anything that’s that’s coming up so just the Riders trying to look after each other there and trying to keep everyone safe but yeah of course it’s um it’s one of the dangers of Road cycling that we have all of these uh kind of obstacles to contend with but you know

This is where the research from the the DS’s also comes into play you know knowing exactly what’s coming up and just kind of forewarning your riders that there are some dangers uh coming up on the road because being a 1.1 race the Riders will be using race radio so they

Will have a frequent communication with the sports directors in the car behind so the aerial shots here gives you we’re getting a view of uh down by the finish and it’s archaea that are on the attack again and they’ve had they’ve been really they’ve had a really aggressive start to the season

Um have archaea they really dominated the uh well to extra Madura down in uh Spain recently and today Mariani no I’m on the Queen Mary Morgan LeDuff an Asmara Sean we’ve all seen Moren Treasury starting to get a little group now just going clear so multiple we saw that we had that uh

Break moments ago with Alicia Palazzi Miguel Docks but it was brought back together and it’s the top girls faster Bartolo rider that’s just dragging everyone uh back together so nothing just meant nothing managing to stick here at the moment and I think there’s a lot of the time in some of the

The smaller teams is just dragging it back together rather than uh rather than trying to jump clear and get across yeah and that can be the most frustrating thing as a rider if you have managed to get a gap and then it gets kind of dragged back but as you mentioned RKO

Are really looking to make this an aggressive race and really trying to force a breakaway it doesn’t come to anything though unfortunately it’s uh it’s still all together and you can see the likes of uh live racing Tech finds so uh that just keeping it under control here

Everyone uh with 68 kilometers to go it would be it would be if we you wouldn’t get it you don’t get it very often when nothing manages to to get clear in a race do you not often no um have you had days like that in your career where nothing because nothing can

Go it kind of gets to the point where I think you know there’ll be a lot of attacking early on and then you get the kind of attitude in the budget come on there’s a bit of a lull in the action and then it all kicks off again

If something doesn’t go a bit of a oh come on and then inevitably there would be something something will uh will go and whether it be only you know for for a shorter period of time or not but sometimes those days can be the be the

Most difficult as well you know when a break just doesn’t go and it’s just Relentless um you know with people trying to get in a breakaway and it’s also when you need to pay the most attention you know mentally as well it can be quite draining because you’ve got to

Constantly try and you know take stock of the situation who’s trying to get up the road what’s happening so it can be uh can be quite draining also mentally as well when is it is there a point as well where you’ve got to look at SD

Works and DSM to kind of manage the front of the Peloton because ultimately we as we always say it’s the peluson that let the break go clear and if if SD works and DSM and those teams are just sitting back in UAE it means that all we’ve got multiple

Little T individual Riders from different teams that are always firing one up here firing one up there and it’s just all coming back together you’ve almost need a little bit of dominance for or a little bit of kind of management and Captain and captaining the front of that bunch

Because you know or or are they just oh when you’ve got a random weave it’s just that confident that you can just go like this and should win anyway yeah I think you know for the teams that want to get in a breakaway it can be really

Frustrating when you look round and see that it isn’t one of the you know for one of a better word bigger teams that are controlling it at the front and if it is like one of the smaller Continental teams which are chasing things down it makes it really frustrating

Um because for a lot of the a lot of the riders in the bunch they’d be quite happy if a breakaway goes and get sort of a minute minute and a half at this sort of stage um because it could kind of calm things down but when yeah when it is the

Smaller teams that keep on trying to chase to try and get themselves in it um it can be a really frustrating point in the race for for the rest of the Riders um because it should be you know if we if we go by the unwritten rules of

Cycling then you look at yeah the the teams that come with the fastest finishes that you know would look to be controlling the Breakaway in this sort of aspect but yeah it come just lead to a really frustrating uh day but we’re seeing now Jayco alula on the attack

And that’s a good move and a quick one just going clear looks like Flora Perkins from the Phoenix to kernick team just making it in there as well she had a cracking ride um in dwarzdorf London just last week was a last minute replacement into the team and has stepped up from the

Development team the young British Rider she’s really showing herself well when she gets an opportunity to ride for the world tour team it just comes ban it comes back together again you’ve and you’ve got to get things working really quickly if you get into a breakaway you’ve just got to come

Over the top like an Express train as well haven’t you otherwise it’s just gonna just gonna do this and come back together again yeah but we can see Riders from you know three of the main Sprint teams there so we’ve got the team of SD Works DSM and UAE adq kind of all

Just marshaling that move just sitting at the back lurking there and uh when they’re present and not pulling a turn you know that yeah this this break isn’t going to go anywhere back at the uh Team car hello has given us a wave you can relax nice and relax

Oh there’s tea uh not again coming back in so Tita almost back with the bunch and now DSM come through to the front just to put a bit of control perhaps over the over the front of the wrench and the team that they’ve got here today so Charlotte cool has got to be

Pre-race favor as well it’s got to be up there uh Danny hangover Esme peppercamp made ploof Becky’s story and uh ninke vinca is the team from DSM it’ll be interesting to see how Charlotte has recovered because she had a great start to the year down in UAE and then had a

Bit of illness um and that’s kind of looked like just done a bit of a team Duty um in the last few races yeah that’s right it’s taken her a little bit of time to recover uh from that illness we saw her riding very much for the team and get well again

Doing a good pull coming into the monterberg but we’re seeing now that the uh the sprinters team really trying to keep their leaders safe we’re just going to start entering the first section of cobbles now so it’s 500 meters in length there is a bit of a gutter on the right

Hand side where we are seeing DSM just Gathering now so uh looking for the smoothest section of the road it’s nothing too major it’s nothing like we’ll be experienced sing on Saturday in Paris Bay but just about to enter that Cobble section now and we can now see

Right in the center of your picture in those uh orange pink jerseys of DF team SD works and not far away from them is the white jersey of the European Champion Lorena Bevis you’ve just got a what as well you’ve got to kind of be mindful of of this

Gully this drainage ditch that we have at side because that was because that was really where anime van luta came unstuck at the weekend yeah there’s a few kind of uh metal drains in that section as well but it is definitely the smoothest section of of the road but

Therefore you know everybody wants to ride on the smoother section to make their lives a little bit easier so yeah you do have to really pay attention there but kind of hence why we were seeing the team of DSM coming to the front hugging that right side so that

They would get a clear run at the gutter along there so that was the job system uh section of cobblestones the next section isn’t about we’ve got the brook Strat coming next yeah so that will come with around 59 kilometers to go we take a right turn

On to those cobbles and it’s around uh 750 meters uh the first section it kind of comes in two parts so 750 meters to start with and then we have a 300 meter break and then around 600 meters of cobbles after that so quite a lengthy section again it’s nothing like we will

Be experiencing next week a bit of a warm-up for parirou Bay um but still it’s always important to try and be close to the front try and keep your leader out of trouble on those sections because you just never know if a rider is going to drop a chain or you

Know have some kind of difficulties on the Cobble section so it’s just always a bit of a battle and sometimes it can be harder than lead into to the Cobble sections are harder than the cobbles itself because once you kind of get there and you’re in your

Um position on the cobbles it’s almost you know you can relax a little bit then the fight is almost to get into the turn for the corals and we can see the SD Works team DSM and UAE adq really coming to the front on the bud of the bunch here

And for UAE if they can keep chiaric on Sony in a good position today because she’s clearly looking at duas last week and looking at the way she’s been going in the classics she’s she’s on incredible four she is yeah I mean second endorsed or flandering which was

A tough race as well a fair amount of climbing in that and she uh she was second in that race as you mentioned behind um solo winner on that occasion Demi rollering so winning the bunch Sprint now beating Mariana boss in that Sprint so yeah really good performance but the

Riders now have joined the finishing circuit so that finishing circus 16.9 kilometers we’ve just come in on the top end of that now and our first passage of the line will be with 50.8 to go because that means you will then get an opportunity to see

What the Finish is like if you were weren’t with us last year or skilder Price Sarah tis it wnt coming through towards the front so Francisco they’ve got the Catherine Shrine then Ariana and Martina fedanza just to make our lives um even easier having the the two for

Dancers within the uh within the same team yeah I think they’re really enjoying being on the same team um you know they’re very close as sisters so uh yeah it’s it’s nice to see them enjoying their their time on the team together Flora Perkins in the blue there for uh

Fenix to kernick I think when when we look back to when we were in uh in Belgium for the world Champs and I mean I mentioned we mentioned it the other day um for anyone that was with us there with Flora Perkins and the it’s the way for such a young

Rider she she really commands and really commands a position within the budget you can see already you know DSM have come alongside her and she’s demonstrating whoever’s coming alongside her she’s one of those Young Riders I think is we’ve really got to keep our eye on her in the years to come yeah

Absolutely she’s a real talent and I’m excited to see what she can do with you know the such a professional setup that she’s in with the Fenix to kernick team that yes she is in the development team but she’s getting a number of opportunities to to ride with the world

Tour team and I think that’s you know really great for Flora Perkins we saw her a national level uh just a couple of weeks ago finishing third in the sickle classic which is uh for any of you that unaware of our British national series it’s a bit of an off-road come

What how would you describe it a bit of a Parry Ruby in the mud it’s a bit of Harry rubay Strada Bianca in it Strada maybe which is a Gravelly kind of race it’s a brutal day isn’t it yeah so that race was actually won by Jess Finney who is

Uh for the awo O’Shea team she is riding in this race uh today Monica Greenwood of uh Das Hansen taking second and uh Flora Perkins taking third place in that race so a really good performance from from The Young British Rider there but yeah as we mentioned she was having a

Really cracking ride in dorsdale Flander and she was actually the only Rider from the Phoenix to kernick team that was up in the front group there so yeah really really strong performance yeah the sickle classic was a bit of a was a bit of ahead of its time calling

Police race and then that that race up in uh it melted so yeah it’s a checked out there’s the uh the sickle classic I only did it once and like double punching and that was it game over unfortunately it is it’s it’s quite gnarly isn’t it

Yeah you need a mountain bike for most of it so we’re coming up to uh that right hand turn now where we’ll be turning on to the next section of the cobblestones and it’s DSM leading in here they’re uh looking here to just keep Charlotte cool

Out of trouble since it’s the first time over the brook Strat uh we do this four times this is on our finishing circuit so we do it each lap and it gives you an idea it’s a little bit more you know cobbly it’s a little bit more cobbly than than the other

Couples yeah undulations in it as well and uh you know whenever you Magnus backstead’s always the goods the good gauge of cobbles because you say this cobbles it is like are they they’re not real cobbles they’re they’re like Town cobbles yeah I mean this camera angle doesn’t really

Do them Justice I don’t think you know the head-on shot here we’re not really getting a full view of the cobbles themselves when we see it from the back you get a bit more a little bit more of a uh an idea of how the cobbles are but

Yeah as we say they’re they’re relatively good condition um not too gnarly like we will be experiencing on Saturday but a bit of a warm-up for that but nevertheless you still need to be near the front uh for these sections so here we are we’re just

On this uh 300 meters section of asphalt and then uh be back to the Bone shaking uh cobbles for another 600 meters it’s a good section and the paint in the center for Jayco and Lula Anastasia carbonari just coming through it looks like for the UAE team

So UAE adq 58 kilometers ago and this is kind of if we don’t get an early move in Chicago the prize this is kind of the pattern of how it can go you know through the finishing circuit and see if anyone manages to to get anything uh

Clear uh to Neil Campbell I’m just on the left of your picture for uh the jaycar Lula team that Trinidad national champions Jersey and it was a for Tennille this is as we said earlier on and I know a lot of you picked Daniel Campbell fans

Um had had a massive crash in her final race of last year I think it was the Caribbean uh championships had a massive massive gash in her knee and and um I think broke her teeth as well so it’s been a and I’ve kind of kind of

Kept in touch it’s been a real journey journey back for her yeah and it’s really good to see her back you know as you say making her her season debut almost when you think of the number of race days that a lot of these Riders have had that yeah it’s um she’s playing

Catch up a little bit but just brilliant to see her back in in the Peloton and she uh she really adds to that jayco-alula team so they would have missed her dearly but obviously very happy to have the Trinidad Champion back in in their roster who do you think

They’ll be going for today do you think do you think Letitia paternoster might um fancier chances today we do have an attack here come back Kelly vanderstein on the front there closely followed by the San Michelle over 93 team just stay small move amundeep for Queen also

Getting in here for uh the archaea team the queen for archaea can this stick we’re waiting for a breakaway to get clear and our first passage of the line with 50.8 to go that this section of the course so working well together and working well together quickly and it’s the AG

Insurance next G team they’re on the front see if this manages to get clear so the AG Riders just had a glance back over the shoulder this is Simona boiler that’s clear the life plus Wahoo Rider just grabbing a bottle so this one year is just making

The most of the small rise here it’s about the only rise on on the course for today so the swan year is just uh taking that position on this small kind of rise up towards the the roundabout so yeah just hoping that the Riders will be at a slightly slower

Speed making a little bit easier to take a bottle kept driving on frequenti just swings out of the group can’t stay with them at the moment Amanda Steen cross so I’ve got to try and keep this together the pressure’s off the front of the Peloton yeah this is the moment

Where this Breakaway can really try and establish the Gap now you can see that the Riders were kind of fanned across the road in the bunch behind so amazing for connect Kelly vanderstein about vanderwolf Katrina de Clerk and uh Simona boylad from the San Michelle mavic over 93 team

Boiler away last year so My boiler and it happens doesn’t it you know you come back to a race you’ve been away in an almost race long break the year before and it just gives you that confidence when you come back yeah I mean she was in the Breakaway for over a hundred

Kilometers last year so you know giving ourselves a little bit of a rest going with 56 kilometers to go but yeah it was a it was a really impressive ride uh from our free Breakaway Riders last year but so my boiler has had a really good

Start to the year finishing 10th in the cadell Evans Road Race uh back when was that January in uh in Australia so uh yeah it was really really good to see uh their French Rider uh sorry um the French team being out in Australia so the Canadian rider for the San

Michelle over 93 team had a good season last year fourth overall in the tour of the yardesh as well did Simona boiler Canadian Rider on the French team so the bet vanderwolf from the life plus Wahoo team and a team again another team they lost a big chunk

Of their sponsorship and the new sponsors coming in to just help keep the team going for the for the season so life plus coming in so life plus and wahoo so this is looking good now 13 seconds 54 kilometers to go our uh Breakaway groups are Julie Hendricks here from Lotto

Destiny on the front to kind of go along the the side of the river Skelter and then back in towards the uh the town it’s a very familiar area if you’re a cycle across fan we have a skelled across for the uh the river Skelter

Plays a part in a in a lot of courses that kind of dipped in down towards the uh the river and back ground is recovered former French national cycle across champion in the red for archaea she was also on the attack last year right at the end of the race they’re

Really trying to uh to bridge across um later on in the race to our Breakaway of three so yeah as you mentioned often you come into a race when you’ve had a good good race the year before you know you come in with a little bit more

Motivation because you know that you can do a good job in the race itself so uh yeah good to see the the French Rider up there in the race today as well so a good mix and and again a good mix of our or you would you know with with the

Jeweler Chevalier team and a lot of the teams that we’ve saw were so active for so long in trying to get a breakaway clear making it into this move yeah absolutely because if you hadn’t made it in after you’ve done all of those early attacks then it would be incredibly

Frustrating so yeah it’s good to see that the uh the perseverance has paid off and and they’ve managed to make it into this move but they uh you know now is the time that they really need to commit to this move and and really try and establish the Gap because it’s just

Hovering at that kind of 13 14 second Mark at the moment which you know for the Riders behind if there’s any teams that have you know kind of feel that they’ve missed this move and they want to get into it then it’s very much a bridgeable distance and so we’ll see uh

Some more action on the front of the Peloton there so back to the front Amazon uh de clerk Simona boilard so it’s Kathleen de clerk they’re giving us for lotto destiny so wearing uh the uh 162 Catherine de Clerk a bit Van Der Waal could see her though

In this uh in this move for that life plus Wahoo team just 18 is Babette wearing 156 and those green and pink colors of Life plus wahoo to represent what’s in that World Junior Road Race championships last year and some placings in some uh misses lots of

Top tents in commesses in Belgium and around the region and and in the Netherlands last year so quite one of those Young Riders sort of looked to me when I was going through our results a very sort of consistent throughout the season yeah absolutely you know coming straight from the junior category as

Well it’s always a big step up when you come from from Junior to the elite category obviously the massive increase in distance that the Riders have to deal with but as you mentioned she’s also a very accomplished track Rider as well former European Junior Madison champion and third in the world juniors Madison

As well so uh yeah real a real talent and one to keep an eye on for a lot of the genius and the younger riders that come in it you know for some Riders it can take that jump you know it can take them two three four years sometimes and

Then some Riders come into the longer distances and and with the those Riders stepping up this year they’re not going to have in the future but they they have you know some news they just settle into it straight away and soak up the changing gear and the changing distance and

Um with sort of three laps to go this time we go through the line for the first time so that gives you an idea of uh What uh the running towards the Finish looks like our Breakaway group Simona Boyle are just grabbing herself a quick gel as the

Breakaway go through it took a while for a breakaway to become established here in Chicago prize today but plenty of teams and now you see the bus has just been parked across the front of the Peloton DSM UA 80q SD Works Jayco and Lula all now across the front of the

Bunch that break the Peloton now happy to let that Breakaway go and the Gap now over 20 seconds we might be uh just getting towards 30 seconds by the time the Peloton uh hit the line it is just over 30 seconds I’d say this is the

Break at the break of the day now I think there for DSM and and SD Works give this a minute they know they can control that once you it reaches a minute then we might start to see a bit of reaction yeah let’s uh let’s see how it plays out

Because it looks like we’ve got you know five very motivated Riders at the front and you know they will do everything they can to try and maximize the Gaff and it is down to as you mentioned you know really looking at the teams of DSM UAE adq SD Works to really control this

Now nice Arty Shadow shot from the camera bike and our five Rider leading group and you would you would say though that it was boiler was the driving force in really getting this really getting this clear yeah I mean it was good to see uh Kelly vanderstein going on the attack

You know she she’s a very accomplished Rider in her time but had to well she she missed the whole of last season giving birth to to her first son um so it’s really good to see you know she’s another one of those riders that has been able to take some time out to

To have a family and is back at the pointy end of the bike races again after you know a minimal amount of time really uh missing out of the Peloton so it’s good to see her back and and obviously uh going well on the bike

Yeah she had uh she was up there sort of looking around her results had a had a sick thing no kiddo was one of her notable results was a National Junior time trial Champion back in the time as well so really a good time trial list

Yeah I think you know she she’s perhaps one that hasn’t quite fulfilled the potential that she originally showed particularly as a junior um but yeah she uh obviously a very strong bike rider um I was teammates with Kelly for for a short period of time and a very good

Climber as well you can obviously see from her stature that you know she’s got some good power on her then she obviously goes uphill as well as well so uh yeah she’s uh she’s got the the physical attributes um to make a good bike rider and it’ll

Just be uh really interesting to see how her career goes now that she also as we mentioned has a has a family at home as well and uh and obviously enjoying life it’s taking on the trailer I saw Lucy vanderhard and Lars out the other day

They had the baby in the trailer and uh it’s a bit bit of extra weight training yeah we could do that uh you could just put a little little sail up as well give you some of some resistance training but she’s 27 now and it like it could be

Given that the the growth of the sport and where we’re going and the the growth of the teams and the races and the TV coverage we’re on air for nearly 100 kilometers today and maybe like you said maybe her potential wasn’t fulfilled given that the way that

The opportunities were but maybe at 27 you know this is this is a good time when when she could really start to fulfill that potential yep yeah certainly so so let’s just see what kind of opportunities the team bring um and you know how she’s able to work

With her teammates and uh you know really kind of fit into the squad so a good Breakaway group 48 kilometers to go 39 seconds is the time Gap from our Breakaway group back to the Peloton in those green and pink colors of the live Blossom team in the orange and

Yellow for Ober mavic Sam Michelle is the is Simona boiler Canadian Catherine de clerk in the uh red and blue colors of Lotto Destiny and then you’ve got Kelly vanderstein in the blue here of the Dual Arts Chevalier team they’re being shown 40 seconds now the tying Gap from our Breakaway group back

To the Peloton if you’re just tuning in for the first time today welcome aboard thanks for your company skelder prize 131 and a half kilometers we’ve gone through the finish line for the first time uh three laps of 16.9 kilometers is our finishing circuit we have our Brook

Strut cobblestones on each circuit and our big pre-race favorites Lorena Vives looking to do the hat-trick in this race this is the third edition of Chicago prize for the women and Lorena Rivas has won the first two editions of this race and she is uh has a strong team team in

This race to help deliver her to the finish we’ll run you through some of your other sprinters that you can watch out for uh live racing uh Tech find I’ve got rakali Barbieri in the team but Kaylee’s not quite had the and white doesn’t seem to have quite started this

Season with the in the manner she did last year no and I mean she was third in this race last year um but we haven’t seen those big sprint performances from Barbieri this year but you know we both took note of the fact that she uh she

Raced the team Sprint in the European championships which you know as opposed to a lot of riders riding the team Pursuit riding the team Sprint was a very different uh they’re very different demands that the event takes so yeah I wonder if that has adjusted her obviously it’s adjusted to the training

That she needs to do going into that but yeah it was uh it was really interesting to see that she was riding the team Sprint at the European championships it was I was there I was there doing the announcing for the crowd and I kind of I

Had to do a double take when they said it and it and that’s the question isn’t it is whether it’s a big objective maybe to and teams do it you know I’ve seen I saw at the Euros as well but you know certain teams almost couldn’t almost put

A kilo rider in the in the team pursuit to do a kilo on the front and then swing off and that’s their job done and we do see um Nations just playing around sometimes as we head into Olympics but it is that question isn’t it as whether she’s done

Any specific training for it or whether they’ve just kind of thrown her in and just sort of had it go yeah I mean obviously the training that’s required for the team Sprint to you know coming and racing 132 kilometers on the road is uh it’s a very different you know

Physiological characteristics that you need for that so yeah as we said we haven’t seen those big sprint performances on the road from Barbara area this year but let’s see how she goes in this race Charlotte cool from DSM and uh she’s got a good lead out for her today has Charlotte cool

ER we were just tap we were just looking earlier on Letitia patanoster uh in the team but they’ve also got Nina Kessler Amber pay in the team they’re backed up as well listen polites and Chelsea tan along with Tennille Campbell so it’ll be whether they go for

Nina Kessler whether it’s Leticia on the road or even you know giving Amber Pate a running a run out as well you know she’s got a fast finish on her being National Criterium champion of of Australia yeah they’ve they’ve got a few options to play with in the the team J

Coalula uh Squad but you know going back to Leticia past and Oscar she she crashed in Japan a few weeks back and well it actually caused the the race to be neutralized so she had to miss gem well again just sort of shortly after that and I guess it really depends on

How her recovery is after after that crash um and you know she might even start the race today feeling great and then you get sort of 100 kilometers deep and then you realize actually you know this this isn’t going to happen today but as we say that in that Jayco a lulo squad

They’ve got a number of options that they could go for in terms of the the faster finishes so yeah well let’s uh I guess it’s a little bit unknown when it comes to to Pat and Oscar but obviously a very fast finisher indeed and and she’s she’s taken some

Decent results uh this year you know starting off with sixth in hargaland after after taking a having a crash in that race as well so that was a a pretty impressive uh performance there but yeah multiple world and European champion on the track so she’s got some uh certainly

Got some fast legs on her yeah it just seems like since when she first burst onto the scene where you know she won stages and and GC and uh Elsie Jacobs then she won a stage a tour down under European under 23 Road Champion it doesn’t seem like when after that sort

Of since sort of 20 in that sort of 2019 and we all know what happened in the world after that um but it seems like it’s taken a while for her to just find her place on the road again I’m on that she’s an absolutely again outstanding track Rider

And her successes on the on the track there speak for themselves but it just seems that she hasn’t quite clicked um in the last year or so on the road yeah I’m you know you know he was obviously Park quite find her her feet necessarily in that Squad

Um or didn’t pick up any of the results that we might have expected or kind of shown herself in the races as such but we know that the potential is certainly there so um yeah it’s good to see her getting a run out in uh in the jayco-alula squad

And and seeing what she can do in some of these uh these Sprints yeah I mean she’s been world champion in the Elimination race and World Cup winner in in the individual Pursuit as well so Class Act yeah and as I remember that Elsie Jacob’s stage one as well when she

Was with and it was you know it was absolutely phenomenal and then but also over those years we then start to get the the Next Generation coming through that kind of slip in you know the Lorena Vives and Charlotte calls and your Elisa balsamos and I think we’re we’re you

Know we have a much broader um sort of spectrum of sprinters now as well don’t we spoiled for Joyce aren’t we that was spoiled for choice in this one as well we’ve got this is a this is a they call it the the the men’s race began for 111 years but they’ve always

Called it the kind of world this is another one that they call the world championship of of sprinters yeah we’ve got quite a few World Championships Sprints haven’t we but their ideas are just coming round to that uh cobbled section again so um the graphic was saying 1700 meters worth of cobbles so

They’re going to turn right onto that section in in just a couple hundred meters time now so the first section of that cobbles was is around 750 meters then we have a 300 meter section of asphalt before the final 600 meters but as we mentioned it’s uh it’s quite good

Quality in terms of uh in terms of the cobbles themselves so not like we’re gonna have our bones rattled or I say we they have their bones rattled um in Paris Bay coming up and you know even sort of some of the Cobble sections in the tour of Flanders as well it’s uh

Slightly smoother than those it’s a Rube weekend this weekend I can’t wait absolutely cannot wait so the women’s the women’s Peru Bay is on Saturday the men’s Peru Bay is on Sunday so clear schedules get your snacks in as we always say and get yourself settled

Get the big chair in the middle of the living room do not move um and we we’re on air from between three and six pm I think um on Saturday check uh check your schedules we’re on to the cobblestones uh Breakaway group Amazon DE Clerk and uh Kelly vanderstein is

Your Breakaway group we’re being shown 28 seconds to group two oh we uh which has just disappeared uh we’re 40 seconds to build I was just literally about saying he looks look like we have potentially had a small group just uh off the front of the Peloton chasing her

Behind but uh if they were we didn’t see them they look like they might have now been reabsorbed into the Peloton we’re over this section of cobblestones the brook strut for the second time two more times to go over this oh we do have still have a group three we have a group

Two at 23 seconds we’ll uh try and get some confirmation of who is in that chasing uh chasing group this is a much better shot of of these cobblestones they are a decent section yeah that’s right um looking at yeah this first section of the cobbles and you get a better

Perspective don’t you win this camera angle is a little bit lower down you can see uh you can see how rough some of the cobbles are but yeah it’s uh it’s like this is essentially going to be like a nice tarmac Road in comparison to what we have on Saturday

Yeah they are very special they’re really big cobblestones if they’re as well as we were saying at the weekend with Rondo and blunder if you uh you can make a double trip go and ride all the cobblestones around uh the uh the arubae and came to all those climbs of Planters

We are getting uh report on Race radio that we might hates Sarah Vanderbilt noeli that uh I’ll clear from that chasing group behind Sarah vandeville is another Rider from the Fenix to kernick development team that has had a number of run outs in the world tour Squad as well so really good

To see the Belgian Rider taking the opportunity when it presents itself so the Fenix deccanic team if you’re uh new to the women’s Pro Peloton um the the same the women’s Squad of Matthew vanderpool’s uh absenter Clinic team so you get with the rothoff brothers

That uh put that set up together and we have a a big big group of cyclocross riders that then all spread out into all different teams under different sponsors throughout the winter and I think the road Tov Brothers have always been really really clever in how they do that

Because they help they’ve helped it’s helped them build this huge program and then you you see San account with uh cleaning freestads and uh Yoda cast the line um in in the team and then you’ve got Adam reversed and those sort of riders in in triple seven and it’s just a

Really good way of of doing things and having all those small sponsors and and giving them their kind of own team in the in the winter at Essence yeah and then obviously uh for us road racing fans you know having them all come together on the roads in the summer

Season it is brilliant and they’re actually the the team with the most amount of riders their fan an extracurric team so they have 19 riders in their world tour setup which the average is kind of around that sort of 14 15 Rider Mark so significantly more Riders they have in the Phoenix to

Kernick team but then they also have the development team that they’re able to call upon Riders and you know they do that on quite a regular occurrence as well you know we’re seeing Flora Perkins and Sarah vandeville in this race and they’ve had a number of run outs with the squad

Um the only races that there aren’t allowed to do is the the world tour races so it’s been um yeah it’s been really good to see how they’re using the development team to their advantage it is indeed our Breakaway group we’re starting to see I was lit that Danny’s just pointing

To her monitor with some fairly grumpy looking clouds out there at the moment he was looking at the weather forecast it was supposed to be really nice and just nice and sunny all afternoon yeah welcome to Belgium the peering of whether we have a group tour so

Um we haven’t had any shots oh yeah there it is again 17 seconds hopefully we’ll get a shot of of these Riders just to confirm uh who is in The Gap there you know just at the back there turning your Otto from uh from South Africa with that geolar Chevron teams Aisha

McGowan there in purple wearing 34 for the live racing Tech find Team good to see the American in uh in here and racing again Aisha McGowan there’s a rider and there’s a there’s a lot of fanfare around there coming in I don’t think she’s quite had the luck and the

The sort of consistency to her um of racing um to sort of allow her to sort of progress so hopefully she’ll she’ll find that now the American yeah I mean she started in the in the live racing team back as a trainee in 2021 so it’d be

Really good to to see her getting some more opportunities but here we go here we have uh group two so 17 seconds down you can just see our our lead Rider dust up ahead in the distance that’s a closing the Gap well so nearly uh rusky here for the AG

Insurance next gu23 team had a podium in the Volta Limburg last weekend did rusky so this team this is the development team of the AG Insurance to Dow Quick Step Team full setup now going all the way from the team of Natasha denal and the service carnavan

They have the development team they have their junior team their U23 team and now the world tour team um so hope they can now just develop bring Riders all the way through from the junior ranks into their U23 team and then on to their pro team which is why I

Think it’s so important that we start to you know we we hopefully can start to see more U23 races for the women because we have the waterslie ladies challenge you know we do we we’re going to get the Tour de la veneer this year as well but we need

Much more consistent program of U23 races throughout the year don’t we yeah and I mean we saw all for the first time in 2022 that we had an under 23 category for women in the world championships albeit the race being held within the elite race we have to wait until 2025

Until we get a separate race for the under 23s but yeah it provides a real stepping stone for the riders that I think now that we’re seeing more and more development teams as well it would be really great if we could have a few more under 23 races on the calendar I’m

Not sure it’s quite ready for a whole you know a whole season of Under 23 races but certainly some more races where you know the younger Riders are able to really Target them and go in you know on an equal with the riders that they’re with in terms of you know age

And experience and and really look to go there to deliver a result as opposed to some of the races that that they’re being you know at the moment in the elite category where for some Riders it’s just you know try and get round you know as opposed to really looking to

Right how do we seriously win this race it’s a very different different mindset when you go into a race of trying to survive the race versus trying to to win the race almost so yeah I think it would be uh be a really good step forward but

Yeah as you say it’s really great that we’ve got the tour the Lavin air coming this year and I’m I’m really excited to watch that race definitely even if we could get a race a month or something like that yeah for the U23 so because we

All as we always say we were chatting about it off air before we came in it’s it’s keeping that winning mentality it’s keeping that fire alive because you know I’ve talked to riders that have been put into situations where the team turned around one day and go oh you’re the

Fastest finisher you can you can have the chance to Sprint and they’ve almost they send themselves you know I’m almost it’s I’ve forgotten how to do it’s muscle memory isn’t it being a you know being in that winning position so hopefully we can we can get that where

We you know where we do have a race amongst us or something like that because teams like aging the age Insurance next G team and Noelia here’s another 18 year old rider and there are a lot of commesses and races like that you can ride in Belgium and the Netherlands aren’t there

Um that they that that would just mix in well with their program and when they get a run out as a U23 team in a race such as this with plenty of World Tour um competition as well yeah that’s right and I think you know as you say it’s almost keeping that

The winning mentality going because it can be very difficult even as a you know for some of the riders that will go into most races as a domestic that you know sometimes you then find yourself in a position whereby you’re not working for the team anymore you’re going for a

Result in yourself and you know it might just be that momentaril lapse in not necessarily concentration but you know sharpness in terms of reacting to moves or you know you need to be able to keep having that winning mentality of you know being able to go for a result in your own right

Um kind of every now and again to kind of dip a toe in the water and whether that be in in smaller category races or you know in some of the biggest races as we see on our screen it’s um it’s good for the morale as well isn’t it when

You’re able to to finish off the a race with it with a good result for yourself definitely so we now at the head of the race you have almondine fukuene in the red for archaeus Samsung in the blue here wearing 15 for the Phoenix to kernick team uh Sarah

Vanderbilt just ahead of her in the white and blue colors wearing number 74 from AG Insurance next year is noelie rusky in the uh blue colors of the giola Chevalier team here wearing 136 is uh Kelly banderstein you’ve got Katrina clerk in the red and blue of Lotto Destiny Simona boilard in

The orange and yellow from Obed San Michelle and the about Vander wolf in the green and pink of the call of the uh life plus Wahoo team and ahmadin for Queeny of RKA in the red it’s a makeup of our Breakaway group two laps to go this time

So our leading group and we went through they had just over 30 seconds when we went through uh previous lap so good working well together and you can see as you wouldn’t expect anything less Sarah Vanderbilt the earlier just ganking contact going straight through see the front

So Sarah Vanderbilt 28 is the Belgian and there’s a big you know there’s a big movement as well you know within Belgian cycling isn’t there we we’ve as you said we’ve got Santa can’t in here is such a legend but lotta kepeki um is doing an amazing you know amazing

Job as well isn’t she um with for the growth of Pro Peloton on the road yeah and it’s a it is a very exciting time for Belgian cycling particularly on the women’s front you know I remember seeing Sarah vandervelle kind of springing into our Consciousness a few years back and she

Transferred over from Triathlon so she was a former Belgium champion in the triathlon and obviously has that kind of time trial ability so it was really in the time trial where she first kind of made her name but really good to see that she’s sort of stepping up in the

Road racing itself you know in her first year uh 2020 I think it was she was second in the Belgian national time trial championships behind lottica um so really showing her strength then and you know obviously she’s she’s got the engine to be a decent bike rider so

It’s really good to see her in the mix today and also you know you know charity boast as well is doing a he’s doing a great job of of you know of kind of that next group of riders and there’s a lot of younger Riders as well coming coming through within different

Teams yeah absolutely and really good to see today uh the announcement that Shari has uh extended her contract with Canyon tram until the end of 2025 as well so the canyon tram racing Squad really securing that Belgian talent for another couple of years so good to see

Becky’s story here at the back in the black and blue colors there of Team DSM sure she will be uh getting herself up towards the front soon to do some work for uh Charlotte cool it’s getting a little slow-mo through the start through the finish line here

That’s why Becky was uh chasing to get back in here Victoria genre of Grandes kumigela fabric is the rider that’s just gone down there fortunately Chelsea tan towards the back for Jacob and just next to her here this is uh Elisa polytests from Jacob Lula 48 seconds 32 kilometers to go really uh

Good group of good spread of teams and plenty of teams represented in this Breakaway group Sarah Vanderbilt here just towards the back for the FedEx the kernick team Simona boylades former med list as well in the world junior Road Champs that was so when we first saw Innsbruck

Was she got her bronze medal in the world junior Champs talented Rider any if we look at this as well this is what this is what’s great about races such as girl deprives and being able to see them is having you’ve got two re you know you’ve got two 18 year old riders

In here in uh in my bet foundable in Noelia rusky here and that’s what is important about these races these midweek races and and being able to see them see them on our screens as well yeah that’s right and I think it’s really nice when we do have these you

Know they’re 1.1s the one point Pros races where you can get a bit more of a mix of the World Tour squads and some of the smaller Continental squads as well so it provides the opportunities for some of these younger Riders to really mix it with the best riders in the world

And you know take it to them as well it’s really good to see that they’re not afraid to get stuck in and get themselves up the road ride aggressively getting a breakaway and uh you know really really show what they can do as well so I’m sure after this race They’ll

Come Away buzzing from you know whatever happens and I Come Away with some really good feelings after this race which just provides motivation for for the upcoming races and and bigger races to come as well and that’s so you know in this situation everything everything about scale of Christ screams Bunch Sprint but

There is that and you talk about it a lot as a as a director sportif in terms of giving your Riders objectives giving your Riders especially the younger Riders and um you know you’ve got other rides in here as well who’s you know they’re 21 catching the club 21. you know that it’s

Giving those Riders those objectives and we all as direct supportive don’t we go get in the break if there’s a break make sure we’ve got someone in the Break um and that that could be you know that is the big learning curve of being in a

Breakaway a group in a race such as this yeah that’s right and you know if you don’t come into the race with a big Sprinter that you have confidence in that could deliver a decent result then you’re not just going to go in the race and just have a little ride round you

Need to you need to achieve something out of the race and you know looking at the roster of riders what is it that we can achieve out of that race and then setting the goals kind of in relation to what Riders you have on the squad for

The day and you know if particular Riders have some elements of their racing that they need to work on then setting some process goals for them to achieve kind of throughout the day and how they can best contribute to the team result as well so there’s always a lot

Going on in a bike race even if there doesn’t look like there’s a lot going on you know everyone is is working towards their own goals and and how they can contribute to the team overall plan so yeah it’s um it’s a bit of a puzzle to

Put together as well which uh which always makes bike racing fun indeed Amazon in the red here they are now on the Bianchi bikes there’s one Rider going one side of the roundabout everyone else going the other side of the roundabouts it’s my own boy life though really

Driving it here the Canadian Rider from that Sam Michelle mavic over 93 team the last year as well and and her her winter had a kind of one win in sort of a French cut cross and had a very sort of solid winter as well and there’s another

Rider both on the road and in the field that’s that’s really sort of progressing year after year yeah and just using those cyclocross skills and you know obviously the confidence that she brings from cyclocross onto the road as well you know two times French national champion and and she was fourth in the

In the under 23 worlds this year so yeah of course she’s a very classy bike rider and it’s good to see her riding aggressively on the road as well and you know kind of bringing that experience that she has into the archaea Squad and that that extra Madura race that I

Mentioned earlier on in Spain they absolutely dominate it the one that they won the the team time trial in it and they won the stages they won it overall it was it was it was a really in having watched archaea kind of come into the sport and take uh perhaps a little while

To to get established it was you go good to see them going out going and racing somewhere perhaps you know away from Belgium and away from France and away from the the sort of worlds World Tour races and it was just nice to see the sort of manner in which they they they

Dominated it and Megan Armitage won it um overall ahead of teammate uh cloraemon and we’ve seen so many times this season with track second Frederick coming in and teams coming in together two Riders together the top of the mountain the final mounted stage and crossing the line hand in hand at the

Top there was none of that in there the live stream though I was watching the live stream of it and it was ever it was I’m winning this stage it was sticking your space it was and it was it was but it was watching the way I’m on Dean and

The rest of the Arcadia team had and the way it’s kind of grown year on year a little bit more each year and that for me was sort of sitting and getting a chance and just catching that live stream or watching that and just seeing them they’re definitely see we’re seeing

Those glimmers of that team now starting to to move up yeah and it’s it’s a very similar conversation to you know what we were just mentioning about the under 23 races you know it’s about going to some races where you go there as a favorite

Or you know as one of the bigger teams and how do you race in that sense because you know for for archaea lining up in that race versus you know when they come to some of the World Tour races and you know for example going to Tour de France Farmer backswift they

Don’t line up on the start line as the hot favorite so it’s a different mindset that they will go into those races where they’re expected to win um and the pressure that they have to deliver a result it’s it’s a different yeah it’s a different way of racing and

And how do they deal with that pressure and you know how do they conduct themselves in the race so it’s another learning experience for them and so yeah it was really good to see that they could stamp their Authority on that and I’m sure that they took a lot of

Confidence from that race and you know lessons learned that they can apply in in the races that are coming up and you know that’s for me that’s what a lot of those races are really about it’s you know the steps that Riders can take to help them

Progress not just in that one race but kind of using those learning experiences going forward to make them into better bike riders and help the team progress as a collective as well as as the individual so minor boy largest moving through to the front I think you know

When we look back to where Simona was in this race last year as as a as in the Breakaway she raced Tour de France Femme then Commonwealth Games Canada and then went on to tour of our Dash and finished fourth overall so again you look at how

That and I think that Tour de France Fanatics with philosophy made a big impact for Sam Michelle mavic over 93 and oh yeah that team has been you know that system’s been around for donkeys years it’s one of the oldest teams um and and one of the oldest programs in

France and I think it’s that and they were you know and they were on the attack all the time within that race and I think it made a massive um it would have made it would have a big deal for that team but then you look

At how Simona came out of Tour de France and then going to what we kind of called The Underground race the the tour of the our Dash that we talk about often but we know you know it’s one of the one of those non-televised races do it too but

It kind of has a folklore all of its own it’s a bit like the Ross you’re not a female bike rider until you’ve done suffered through the tour of our Dash yeah and then you know she took fourth overall there so if you look at the sort

Of evolution of a rider through a season as well that’s sort of a really good sort of um comparison in a way yeah yeah absolutely and you know as you mentioned you know the Tour de France farmer backswift just really provided I don’t want to say a Lifeline but like um a

Real emphasis launch pad launch pads that’s a good one yeah thank you for that um yeah it was it really good to see how it’s helped the team to you know really make a step forward and as we said we saw them on the start line in tour down

Under uh this year which we might not necessarily have you know seen in you know many of the years gone by so it’s really good good to see and uh Riders now tackling this Cobble section for the penultimate time onto the brick strats 25 kilometers to go one minute and 13

Seconds is your time Gap from our Breakaway group back to the Peloton so Amity for Crane from arcaya you got perfect vanderwolf from the life plus Wahoo team Simona Bollard from the Sam Michelle mavic Oba 93 team Katrina de clerk from Lotto Destiny Kelly vanderstein from The Duo last Chevron

Near team Sarah Vanderbilt from Phoenix to kernick and early urusky from the AG Insurance next gu23 team that is the makeup of your Breakaway group as we all head in towards the finish the we have our three uh we have our three finishing uh loops

And then we will come around and get the Bell this time we will cat we will tackle the Brooke strap with 8.3 kilometers to go and you’re getting a nice low camera angle from our camera bike here which just uh show G the the cobbles that the Riders are dealing with

Emily meakin and towards the back there wearing uh number 104 from the awolow Shea team one of the uh British UCI teams and then uh not far as well Antonio Otto still uh towards the back so a minute and 13. they’re building a decent decent Advantage this Breakaway group

Yeah it’s steadily growing isn’t it up to one minute and 13 seconds now so uh Bunch behind looked relatively comfortable but this group has certainly motivated these seven Riders really Keen to keep this Breakaway going you know when you look at the teams of which they are representing you wouldn’t say that

There is necessarily one of the big kind of Sprint favorites amongst these teams so it is going to be down to the likes of Team SD Works to DSM UAE adq to try and control this Breakaway and bring it back for some of the the big pre-race

Favorites in the likes of Lorena Weber’s Charlotte and Kiara conzoni just seeing one of the AG Insurance uh helpers along the side got a set of wheels on the Cobblestone after the cobblestones as well it’s not easy to grab a bottle in a race like this at that sauce it’s like

Grabbing a brick sometimes isn’t it it’s uh it’s not an easy thing when you’re grabbing bottles at speeds or on the flats so uh this way hence why this one you know is trying to find any small rise that they can Becky’s story on you’re right there

Show the DSM team will be roaring Becky up towards the front to do a big turn for Charlotte to cool just pick out some of our other for your for you if you’re just tuning in so your sprinters that you’re watching out for because we don’t expect the chase when

We hit 20K to go and we hit the line expect the chase to go up considerably uh we saw titanoyant who was on the who crashed a little bit earlier on but is back in the bunch and has been brought up towards the front as well for Israel

Premier Tech so hopefully they can bring her through towards uh the front as well Kiara con Sony uh watch out for her in the finish today you’ve got uh Ariana and Martina fidanza for that Sarah tizit wnt um team and then um Zaff Maggie Coles Lister perhaps

Watch out for Maggie Coles Lister in the Sprint but the big favorite has got to be the two-time champion looking to do the triple here um for SD Works in Lorena Vives but a minute and 20 plenty of communication going on between uh our Breakaway group so if I bet vanderwolf

To go through a little stick swinging off the front for the Ada Insurance team and it took an awful long time for this Breakaway to become established and established they are so if they can push this out to maybe a minute and a half as we go towards the line three laps of

16.9 kilometers so we ride along the side of the river Skelter here and then swing back in towards the town and then they will get the Bell lap this time it’s a good it’s a good as well it’s a good circuit it’s a good way of doing it

The the way they do it in scale the prize as well with the with the the three big finishing loops provides a bit of a kind of a Belgian kermis at the end doesn’t it with a nice little Cobble section just to uh spice things up a bit

It also makes it a lot easier logistically for the teams we’ve seen the swan years out feeding you know if they’re uh just stood in one point you know exactly where the where the swan years will be and you can take a bottle uh lap after lap normally speaking it would be that

Feeding would close with around 20 kilometers to go so the bar closes get your last orders in before the last lap so it’s a good bike path along the side as well there’s your graphics so Sarah vanderbiltski Ahmad Kelly bandashima BET landable is your Breakaway group

Can see that they have not missed a beat in this uh Breakaway our Riders it’s it’s nice isn’t it when you see a breakaway just straight away just such a fluid Breakaway there was me there was no messing at all as soon as they got clear yeah I think all of these Riders

Know that being in the Breakaway is their best opportunity for for a good result you know perhaps not just for themselves but for the team in themselves so you know um I’d say probably the the team that has the best Sprinter out of this Breakaway group would probably be

Looking at the Fenix to kernick team with Maria Martin’s the former Portuguese Champion she’s got a very fast finish on her and then looking at um the San Michelle Oba 93 team with Roxanne Fournier as well also a very fast finisher but for for the rest of these teams they’re probably looking at

You know if this Breakaway can can last to the Finish then this is probably the team’s best opportunity to get you know well guaranteed if they stay away it’s going to be a top seven result isn’t it so it’s um yeah it’s a really good opportunity for these teams to to get

Themselves up there but 20 kilometers to go and we’ve got less than one minute 30 so it does look like our big teams in the shape of SD Works DSM UAE adqr controlling this uh quite nicely at the moment when you’re in this position in a breakaway when you’re kind

Of doing that who blinks first with the with the Peloton is there that communication you know is that that that break captain in in essence that tries to say right it’s just that moment when you have to kind of just gas it again to just see if you can just get that little

Bit extra that will give you that buffer to to potentially try and stay away because we always say day for the sprinters but we’ve seen it you know in in Japan with Grace Brown it’s not outside the Realms of reality to for a breakaway to to trick the Peloton and

Manage to stay away yeah and you know it really takes a collective effort from the Breakaway as well because as soon as you know one or two Riders start skipping turns then it means that the cooperation within the group obviously dies in that you know you want to take

Kind of anchors to the finish and you know bringing riders that aren’t pulling their weight so as long as the cooperation is there then yeah it’s you know the morale is is relatively good in the break if you can keep this Gap and as you mentioned sometimes it just takes

One or two Riders to just really try and motivate their Breakaway companions to to just give it everything to try and keep that Gap and uh really try and stand a chance of making it to the Finish so AG Insurance they’ve got uh Elena Val royum

Um in the break and newly Van Der Merlin who are uh handy sprinters as well for the AG Insurance next G set up so 19 kilometers in towards uh the Finish they’re working well together not far from the uh the Finish where they will get the belt

This time not getting any shots off the front of the Peloton at the moment to see uh if they’re really organizing it it generally went in here in Chicago prize happens when we go through the line when we go out onto that circuit it’s it’s what looking at the circuit

Then it’s one of those there’s some there are some twists and turns we’ve seen we’ve got our cobblestones in terms of it’s not that sort of long straight Road in terms of organizing that chase no that’s right and I think you know on the early part of this race you know

Some of the some of the areas that we didn’t see on the coverage there were quite you know long straight roads where we were thinking that perhaps the wind might play it play an issue if um if it was blowing in the right direction but

Yeah it is kind of there are a few twists and turns but for the most part the roads are relatively wide um which makes it a bit easier for for the Peloton to kind of get organized um a lot of the roads of this kind of width so it’s not too stressful almost

In the bunch you know we often see when racing in Belgium and this part of the world that we all we often have a number of narrow roads which provides a bit of a fight for positioning coming into the turns but it’s all relatively wide and just really that kind of Cobble section

That is the main obstacle of this finish that Danny what’s your most overwhelming memory of racing in Belgium what does he announcer say at this point oh we are coming up to the lasteronda you brawls it at you yeah I’m not gonna lie my impression about two hours ago

Was a lot more enthusiastic I’ve got to say it was it was up there definitely one lap to go here in skill the prize and uh the belt ringing for our Breakaway group clock starts in the corner of your screen 16.9 kilometers to go you can hear the announcer there Is it your Breakaway group and here come the Peloton in its UAE adq now that are doing the work on the front for Kiara con Sony there’s Lorena Vives on the uh right of your picture in that white jersey of the European Champions surrounded by her SD Works teammates and

It’s Marlon roycer uh looking around on the front for SD works that’s about to start bringing weebus through Sarah tis it wnt plenty of options uh for them in the Sprint and the Gap has come down considerably with uh UAE adq on the front yeah you can see that they’re really starting to

Control this Gap now and uh really time to go racing in this last lap so UAE adq for chiaricon Sony Anastasia carbonari Lizzy Holden for great brand Carrie Lynn Yeager from Poland Switzerland’s Linda Zanetti and Italy’s Anna travisi that is the makeup of that UAE adqt looking to try and set things

Up for Kiara con Sony uh it’s it’s a it’s a fairly long run in towards the Sprint so it is we would we would always say it’s pretty perfect for for Lorena Vives but Charlotte cool delivered her perfectly last year and then swung off fairly late and we saw the way

Charlottes sprinting and and we always have seen sort of historically that as soon as Loreno Evis gets a jump on everyone no one can come back but early on in the season charlotta was able to do that consoni’s sprinting really you know really really well as well so it’s

Going to be an interesting run towards the finish I think it is and you know we know what a phenomenal Sprint to Lorena weebis is but you know as you mentioned she has been beaten a few times this season in Sprints of you know kind of different situations almost so she’s

Certainly not you know that I want to say yeah she’s certainly not the the Sprinter that she was you know last year when he looked at coming into a Sprint that it was almost like wait how do we get second you know so she’s shown this year that she is beatable

Um and and a number of riders have done that in the Sprint um but yeah of course you uh you don’t want to give her an inch because uh she will certainly take a mile if you do that do you think that it as well as it’s that Charlotte and Elisa balsamo

And Kiara consoni in the case of there’s a lot of riders that are just that have stepped up as well or perhaps because she has said that she you know she’s been looking she was right into the right into the teeth of of Flanders at the weekend in in the Breakaway group

With Marlon Roy sir and and lots of peki yeah we’ve definitely seen this year that she I mean she’s always been a strong Rider don’t get me wrong she’s always been you know not just a pure printer she’s always been very strong but this year she seems to be climbing

Better we saw it in drenthal and in the Rhonda van vlanda and that she’s she’s right up there on those Punchy climbs so whether that has taken something from her initial acceleration because that was perhaps the most impressive part of Lorena Weaver’s Sprint was that initial

Jump that she could get on the rest of the Riders so you know it’s um yeah maybe maybe the the way that she’s able to to climb has taken a little bit away from that but then of course that brings her into the mix and you know a number

Of different races as well so it’s not just looking at those the kind of pure flat uh races is able to contest the finish in well most races that don’t include a mountain you just don’t want it to to that Focus to just take that edge because she’s

Gone to SD Works who have got a rider in lottica peki who’s now the the classics Rider so in essence there’s when you go to that tea and maybe perhaps just talking throwing it out there Perhaps it is seeing how far she’s digging into these Classics it’s

Just that gelling into a new team and just just wanting to be there as as you saw we saw in in umlet pet newsblood on the boss bird just absolutely nailing it up the bosburgh to try to control things for her teammates yeah and it’s it’s a very different situation it’s obviously

A completely different setup that Lorena weebus finds herself in now now that she’s in uh the team of SD works but yeah I mean what a card to play for SD works you know we’ve often seen that they were sending Riders up the road and Lorena weebus has sat in the group behind

Um that can be Plan B if it comes back as a Sprint so yeah it just really strengthens the squad obviously and she’s certainly a rider that you don’t want to take to finish they’ve had nine wins so far this year team SD Works can

They make it a 10th to day 13 kilometers to go 39 seconds drops downless clicks back one second for our Breakaway group if you’re just tuning in and catching the back end here I’ve scaled a prize today uh 131 and a half kilometers three laps of this 16.9 kilometer finishing

Circuit our Breakaway group in the road of archaea amandine for Queeny in those uh pink and green colors of the life plus Wahoo team but Vander wolf in those orange and yellow colors of Sam Michelle over mavic Ober 93 Simona boilard from Lotto Destiny here wearing uh number 162

Catherine de klerk as well as Kelly vandersteiner in the blue of duola Chevalier Sarah Vanderbilt for the Fenix deccanic team and noeli rootsky of the age Insurance next year 23 team that is the makeup of your Breakaway group they’re still holding 30 seconds with 13 kilometers to go as our big sprinters

Teams look to now try and get this race under control and try and set it up for our big sprinters are fast finishes to come is coming down now though isn’t it just dipped under the 30-second Mark for the first time in a number of kilometers and

It is UAE adq that are really driving this on the front of the bunch do you think this is for UAE I know you’ve got everyone’s got did for do you think they’re too just too far out at the moment in terms of using everything up

Or again chiaricon Sony is a very good Sprint server isn’t she she can surf everybody else’s lead outs and she is that sort of Rider you can just bring her up and and drop her off into the right position yeah and I’m just looking just exactly where uh chiaricon Sony is

And she looks like she’s around sort of 15 Riders back so they have put three of the teammates on the front there that are looking to control the pace they’re closely followed by the team of SD works and then uh live racing just behind them but Kiara consoni herself is just a

Little bit further back so uh just saving the power a bit now so leaving it to the teammates it’s dipped under the 20 second Mark for the first time in a very very long time now so 12 kilometers to go and there we go we’ve got the shot

Of the distance on the road I wonder when we’re going to see or if we’re going to see some attacks coming out of this Breakaway group as a last minute ditch attempt to try and try and stay away is Sarah vandervelle of the Phoenix to kernick team on the front

Really great in her teeth Sarah Vanderbilt to try and keep this one clear we always have to live in hope we always live in Hope for our Breakaway groups when they get clear but a great move and I bet Vander wolf is not done without a fight

Um is the life plus Wahoo Rider has one last dig to try and uh take something clear here the Peloton behind you can see SD works all lining out on the front to try and line it up for Lorena Vives we’ll Escape here for AG and Simona boylad straight there but you

Can see it’s the colors of DSM now that have come through towards the front it’s the sensible riding from them they’ve uh they let UAE adq do the Lion’s Share of the chasing and you know one if you’re not going to get a full combination of

Teams if one team takes it into their own hands to try and uh get the Breakaway back um saves you a rider for for your lead out yeah absolutely it’s really about trying to use the other teams to your advantage and you know save as many resources from your own team as possible

As we’re seeing that four Riders here have gone clear so we’ve lost lost a few Riders from our Breakaway group so Catherine de klerk I bet vanderwolf Simona boylord and early rootsky are you’re left in your Breakaway Phoenix to kernick now are on the fires that we mentioned Maria Martin’s the former

National champion of Portugal European champion in Switzerland on the track this year in grenshin fast finish is definitely one of those kind of riders that could be there and thereabouts in this Sprint as uh the rootsky goes again get the effort on the face now of nearly

See the Swiss Rider here for AG Insurance next G all uh jumping around 10 kilometers to go really trying to gas this one to try and stay clear of this Peloton you can see us spread all across the road multiple lead out teams now coming through towards the front of the

Peloton to get this one uh back and under control just gotta watch these little raised islands in the middle as well looking at these little cobbled raised Cobble bits in the middle yeah but it’s really good what Flanders Classics have done with obviously marking out these um you know bits of Road Furniture

Um it’s kind of leading the way almost in in race safety you know really highlighting to the riders that there is a danger coming up because yeah it can prove a complete disaster if they go unnoticed but the graphic they’re just showing just over a kilometer to our final section of cobbles

As he goes again now a little excuse is not done without a fight here and we need to check the road book if there’s a competivity award if there’s a lot last Rider standing award in this one always want to be the last Rider from the Breakaway that’s caught yeah I mean it’s

Really good to see the the 18 year old riding so aggressively isn’t it you know really uh really trying to make the most of this Breakaway group as you said she uh she comes into this race on good form we took a podium in the Volta Lindbergh classic just last weekend

It does look like it is day done for our Breakaway the catch is made there’s a last Rider from our Breakaway group is caught and everything back under control as we now 8.7 kilometers to go we’re gonna set this one up now for that uh anticipated Bunch Sprint as you see many

Teams now up towards the front DSM Phoenix to kernick SD Works UAE adq all very much up towards the front [Applause] just taking that right hand turn last time of cobbles coming up now so 1700 meters and it is the team of Fenix the kernick that have come to the front Santa can’t

Now on the front driving this one for the Fenix deccanic team so they have got a sprinter in this one that they could uh put up there as a potential favorite DSM looking to deliver Charlotte to call last year they delivered Lorena Eves with Charlotte to cool being the final

Lead out rider for that team coming into the Finish it’s a still Santa can on the front here for the Fenix to kernick team not far away like three Riders back you can see the SD Works lead out for Lorena beavers just starting to form around the in front of the European champion

For DSM we got as you can see now just caught a glimpse of the red and white Canadian national champions Jersey as well in Maggie calls Lister for that zap cycling team uh could Cole’s list up take a Podium or a big result in this one today fast finisher and the Weaver’s just

Floating around on the back of her uh lead out Riders Danny bramner sat in second wheel for the Jeweler Chevron mayor team good to see the Dutch Rider up there after a recent uh bout of illness so looks like she’s made a good recovery positioning herself well towards the front as we see

A team of SD works and Marlon rooster coming to the front big lead out from the winner of gameplay DSM I’ve got uh looks like two Riders now up there for Charlotte cool see those Lotto Destiny jerseys as well just started trying to move up towards the front

Still on the Cobblestone still Marlin Royster they’ve got so they’re lead out so they’ve got Marlon Royce at Michigan blade ball Barbara ski thank you Marcus and lonica unicorn to lead out for Lorena Vives down onto the uh the side of the river right hand turn for the Riders

Isabel Yana towards uh the back for the GT Crush team alongside her see the way everyone just gets swung across here to the uh the right yeah and the uh the pressure is really on through the Cobblestone section it’s just backing off now so seeing a number of teams bringing their main sprinters

Up towards the front still in the center Phoenix to kernick you can see the way UAE have just kind of taken the foot off the gas just a touch on the uh looking at the left and then you’ve got Tennille Campbell now moving up we’ll have a look and see who she’s got

On the Wheel just glancing across Anastasia carbonari not far from the front as well there’s Maggie Cole’s Lister in that Canadian Champions jersey in the red and white and the there’s a lot of cool you can see in that black jersey with the two blue stripes AG Insurance next G or keeping

Themselves up towards the front here as well Nina Kessler comes up on your left there in those uh white blue and pink colors of Jaco Lula a little flick of the elbow Now by Marlon roycer hands over you can now see the acceleration comes from Team SD works

Big pool being done in the center there by Phoenix to kernick you can see that Maria Martens the former Portuguese national champion is sat fourth wheel in their train so they’ve got a number of riders that she can use to her disposal with five kilometers to go

Elbow Marlon Roy set comes through again for SD works Sarah tis at wnt Ryder just uh moving up plenty of chat though you can see looking around the Fenix the kernick team just got to get through that little pinch there as everyone just swings out onto the wide

Road and the Peloton spreads all across the road it’s Marlon Royce another flick of the elbow a little conversation going on between the two Riders at the front so with pemke Marcus and British giveawayed of old as well in that lead out lonica Unica they know can help

Deliver their own Avis in that for the final stages of the lead out was Lizzie Holden of the UAE adq Squad sat just to uh the side of Team SD works this is Ariana fedanza of the cerators at wnt team in the blue and red

So it looks like they might be going for either her sister there in Martina garanza I also got Catherine schweinberger as well he’s got a handy finish on her 3.8 kilometers to go and SD worked very much in control here with uh Marlon Royce are just directing the team behind her

Scene just seems each time she just looks it’s a little flicker we think okay is she done no she’s coming back just keeps coming back yeah very impressive frog but we would expect nothing less for Marlon router the winner of well the game after that really impressive 40 kilometer solo so

Inside three and a half kilometers to the Finish now and Marlon Russo are really putting down the power leading this Peloton has got this Peloton strung out this is uh a near perfect at the moment in the running towards the finish the way SD Works have now come through

To the front it’s all about timing it’s all about hitting the front um as Chloe and everyone it’s all calculated as well isn’t it this lead out on how far out you go from yeah that’s right and uh the Riders will have a a kind of a Target in their mind

As to when when they will be hitting the front but you can see there Lorena Weaver’s just sat in about fifth wheel they’re in the European Champions Jersey in that white jersey and it is a real fight for uh to get the wheel of Lorena Weavers it’s a lot of cool there’s uh

Surfing the wheel of Lorena Vives as some Riders of force wide out of that corner uh onto the bike path at the side 2.7 kilometers to go steel Marlin roysters Maggie Cole’s Lister tries to move up yes a lot of cool that you can see is on the wheel now of Lorena

Weavers but it looks like SD works and now you can see a visible turn of pace now from Marlon Royster and she UPS it into uh the next gear here in the lead out for Lorena Rivas this is a huge turn by marlona Rosa just taking this uh left

Hand Bend you can see the Peloton all strung out under the pressure of the Swiss Rider or a big crash behind unfortunately we have had a big crash we had one on the river last year but unfortunately some Riders have gone down in the Peloton on the run-in towards the Finish you can

See it is as you would expect with 2K to go full gas in towards the Finish but Marlon Roy sir the water Rider to have at your disposal the power the engine of the Swiss Rider you can see it’s we’re at 1.8 kilometers to go Lorena weave if you’re watching out for

Her in that white European Champions Jersey shallotta cool of DSM has got herself right onto the wheel of weebus I think it might be Danny kengerveld of Team DSM that’s just on the wheel of Weavers who looks to be looking around consistently so is is that you’re right there’s

Charlotte calls just a few Riders away from us are being really really Vigilant is Danny kangavel to make sure that she knows where her teammates are a lot of cool is she is behind Kiara con Sony you can see in that light blue pink colored Jersey we’re looking now for the flam

Rouge across the road here in scouter prize as SD works you can hear the power on the front as they go past the camera and now we’ll switch to our head-on shot here for the Finish they usually just pop round this quarter and then we’ll see the Sprint towards the line that’s

Where the camera just has to pull away the anticipation now um they haven’t got a further camera down here unfortunately so we can’t see that run in towards the Finish when we left them there as they went through the flam Rouge it was uh Team SD works very

Much in control now they start to come into the picture and it’s D as you can see SD wax Lorena Weaver’s that second wheel that final lead out now for we miss Maggie coleslister is there Maria Martis is there where is charlotta cool but everyone now will try and get that

Anticipated jump now from Lorena Weaver’s Kiara con Sony starts to make her move but it’s weavis consoni Charlotte now trying to come through it’s a lot of cool now at the inside of the barriers the throw to the line it looks like found herself a gap on the barriers but

It wasn’t quite it looked like she just ran out of meters there but it does look like our Pony of his Reb is cool and could Sony that head-on shot looked really close didn’t it but it looked like it was just Lorena weebus that took the third victory in a row in this

Skelder price what a performance from Team SD works in the final kilometers of this race a uh the pressure was really on the European Champion to deliver the Sprint Victory thereafter a textbook lead out from Team SD works and she said it looks closer than it is sometimes on there on the

Head-on shot but she knows she she knows she’s got it there what a lead out though if you look at that hole that that whole team in the way they they LED that one out seriously impressive yeah it was really impressive and you know they’ve really bought that

The Sprint Squad here you know and the whole lead out train was designed to deliver the European Champion to Victory and uh looks like they did just that so yeah Chapo you know when the pressure’s on um you know they came into the races the big favorites

And to deliver it is is often a different situation so yeah well done Chapo to them and it’s interesting seeing how Barbara garishki is slotted into that that lead out and the how quickly that lead out has gone together with Lorena coming in this year Barbara

Coming in from movie star as well yeah they seem to have really gelled together as a team and it’s it’s very important that you know this collection of riders are able to to Really find themselves in the lead out train and and come together as a squad because it’s just so

Important for that lead out take us through this Sprint yeah you can see here that the once uh Lorena weebus is uh released from that SD Works leader it was uh just almost plain sailing for a right to the finish here you can see Charlotte of Team DSM just on the wheel

Coming round on the right hand side of our screen almost making it through on the inside there and it was a lunge to the line looks really quite close from the head-on shot that like chaarak on Sony finishing in third place there Barbieri up here as well in this Sprint

Maggie calls Lister not far away from the front look at Charlotte cool coming off the wheel of Loretta Weaver throws the bike at the line launches the bike at the line does Charlotte cool and hit now we’ll get the the side on photo they’ll come into shot momentarily it’s

A great shot of the finish line here let’s have a look yeah off the wheel yeah it was uh it was a convincing win in the end there a little like Ariana fadanzo coming in fourth place for the saratis at wnt team we just saw her shaking her head as she

Crossed the line there that sets us up though Charlottesville coming back into form as well that does set up some some really interesting Sprints to come this oh there’s going to be some Kraken Sprint battles coming up isn’t there yeah we uh we missed you a

Lot of cool when uh we knew that she had been suffering from that bout of illness and uh good to see that she’s obviously recovering well from it so uh yeah I’m sure this is going to give her some more fire in the belly for the upcoming races

And uh yeah Lorena Weber’s isn’t going to have it her all her own way so I’m sure we’re gonna have some some close battles in the season to come 63rd win as a pro and it’s still only 24. it’s not bad is it it’s just it’s when you look at the

Seasons so far that is her fourth win fourth win of the season um but uh it’s I think what yeah what is interesting when you see how that how well that that SD Works lead out is now working there is your top ten so Lorena Vives a Charlotte on Sony is your Podium

Rickely barbieri’s Martina fedanza Christina Boulevard Catherine schweinberger Maggie Coles Lister great ride by April tasty of the life plus wahurai team getting in there in ninth and then Leticia paternosta there in intent yeah that’s a breakthrough ride for April tasty uh the young British

Rider to get a top 10 in this result in this race is a real result for the rider from Leicester so really good to see her making that top 10. and good to see that patanoska was was up there but I’m I’m sure she’ll probably be a little bit

Disappointed with that result but good to see that she has recovered from her crash in Japan and is uh back towards the pointy end of the bike race yeah definitely we were chatting about that earlier on we could see Leticia patanoster uh back in there for April

Tasty though it’s it’s it’s and right as you get a break through top 10 against this sort of company not just one Sprinter and Lorena Vives but you’ve got consoni you’ve got cool you’ve got a whole group and when you’re doing it on your own as well that’s when when a top

10 in something like this is something to to celebrate yeah it’s a it’s a really great ride and you know April is a rider who was often working for the team in her first couple of years with the squad so you know it’s really good

To see that now she is able to take the opportunities for herself and and get some results in her own right so you know we’ve known for a few years is now that April is a really strong Rider she just hasn’t had the opportunity to show

It so really good that as soon as uh as soon as she gets the nods that she’s going to grab those opportunities yeah you have to just remind yourself get your sharp in your elbows and there you go here’s Lorena viebus professions Lead out foreign At four years finally New Paris uh winner today Lorena Rivas so yeah fly over the Albert canal in addition of kill the prize three from three for Lorena weevis which is impressive in itself [Applause] Let’s have a look back at some highlights of today and uh give us a net took a while for a breakaway to become established they had a two and a half kilometer neutral section and this was the making of our Breakaway group it was a good start this uh Breakaway group

In terms of Kelly banderstein launching it yeah to take quite some time for the Breakaway to go but we saw Kelly vanderstein the Belgian Rider on the attack and it was uh quickly established that we had five Riders out in front able to steadily bring the Gap up to around 30 seconds

So the Breakaway group would be Amazon or okay but vanderwolf of the life plus Wahoo team Simona boylord of Sam Michelle mavic Obed 93 Catherine de Clerk of Lotto Destiny and they joined uh Kelly vanderstein at the front Sarah Vanderbilt and noeli rootsky of the Fenix to kernick and AG Insurance uh

Next G teams were chasing hard and they made contact with 36 kilometers to go and the Gap would grow from the 36 seconds that they had at this point um to uh nearly a minute and a half when we went through the line that final lap though the sprinters teams

We’re not going to be outwitted today in wanting to bring it down to a Sprint finish live racing Tech finds did a bit of work earlier on in that Sprint it was uh UAE adq that did a lot of work in bringing that Breakaway back SD works

Though you’ve got to say lonica only confenke Marcus Marlin Michigan the final lead out of Lorena Vives uh delivering her delivering her Danny absolutely perfectly here yeah I mean the pressure was on to deliver the result because she was released inside the final 200 meters a simple day out

Almost you would say for Lorena Weavers that yeah what a lead out she had from the team of SD works and for Lorena Vives just a case deliver it um perfectly to the Finish
