Hi all, been riding on a bike for almost a year now that has Shimano 105 r7000 (~750 miles). I have been having a recurring issue with the front derailleur, where maybe every 200 miles it struggles to get into the big chainring. Its not been too bothersome as i have just tightened the cable using the pin on the side (A in diagram), or manually pulled the cable tighter, assuming they had stretched.
Anyway, today i was going out for a ride when i remembered having to mount the chain on the big chainring by hand on my last ride, so went to do the same as always. By chance my bike is filthy (uk weather š), and could feel the bolts were a little gritty so went a bit further than usual.

After unscrewing A, B would not come back round to the position it should be with the screw all the way out. Putting the cable back in place and tightening tightening the throughbolt on top would shift it round, but it was so unbelievably gritty i sprayed some lube in there to try and encourage it. This is when i noticed how un-circular the middle hole is. I am assuming this should be round and flush with the housing, and turn freely? It absolutely does not. So my question is, have i been riding round on a badly finished product, or have i somehow done this? I know one time i tightened that bolt without my torque-meter.
Also if anyone has advice on going back to the manufacturer if this is not my fault, that would be great
