  1. I'm pretty sure the 'structures' along the side of the corn fields that Matt asks about are what we in Canada would call 'corn cribs'. The corn is harvested 'on-the-cob' and put in the cribs. They are long and thin to ensure the corn continues to dry out (if it is not yet dry). Since the corn grains are not threshed off the cob, they don't fall through the wire crib sides. Don't see them much anymore here, but I remember them growing up as a kid in Ontario.

  2. Hi Matt. I was cycling around theses ways at the same time as you (bloody hot!) on my way back from a 3 month trip. I thought I had touring out of my system for a while but your vids are starting to reignite that old twisted desire for more pain 😁 Thanks for posting them, they have good vibes ✌️

  3. Hello To you both. Nicely done video. I have a question for you if you can reply. Would you do the ride the you did it or would you suggest I start at Oberalppass at the other end? I am 75 and want to do this ride before I kick the bucket. Keep on riding .

  4. I love your account of this trip…I did it in the reverse direction some 6 years ago from Oberalp to Hook Von Holland..The weather was similarly hot and dry…You did an excellent job of filming and commentary..Thank you for the memories
