Well I’ve got some good news we have seen many people conquer diabetes am I talking about type one diabetes or type two diabetes I’m talking about both of them and so I’m going to show you the basic principles that we have found have helped and I’m going to begin with

Probably a type of eating that many people have got into the habit of today and that’s high carbohydrate and I’m going to show you how this affects diabetes Now I know that bread is a very common food in Germany and I have to tell you that I think Germany’s got the nicest bread

I’ve ever tasted there’s a type of bread that is greatly contributing to diabetes but not all breads that’s the good news probably the bread that is the most dangerous is the bread that is made out of wheat do and I’m going to show you why that is

So the bread that is made out of rye and spelt or dinkle is not as dangerous for diabetics as the wheat cereal is another high carb carbohydrate food and when I say cakes Etc I’m also referring to um biscuits cookies uh croissant muffins all the cake things

All of these Foods if made at home are actually slow Foods Foods they’re freely available very quickly in the cities in the fast food shops and all of these Foods break down in the body to glucose under our left rib is the pancreas and the pancreas releases Insulin and insulin is the key that unlocks the door to get glucose inside the shell so the first place that the glucose is sent is to the cell and it goes through a 20 step pathway and that gives us two units of energy um yeah

And what comes out of that is a chemical form of glucose called pyate and this pyruvate as the chemical form of glucose gets F into the eight step pathway this eight step pathway is called the PowerHouse of the cell because of its ability to give us 36 units of

Energy what makes the difference is oxygen this cell has oxygen that’s why quite gives us so much more energy this pathway no oxygen so only two units of Energy so that’s the first place that the glucose is sent is through the energy Pathways and then some is stored as little molecules of glucose and those little molecules of glucose are called glycogen in form gluc any any glucose that is left over after the energy cycle and glycogen is now stored as

Fat so this is the third place that the glucose is sent is as fat can you see by what I’ve just shown you that fat doesn’t make you fat it’s this High carbohydrate diet giving us so much glucose it can’t all be used so a lot of it has to to be

Stored as fat and I know in Australia on this High carbohydrate diet Australians are getting bigger and bigger and bigger And something else is happening and that is this high glucose diet demands High insulin so we also see that this High carbohydrate diet is a big contributing factor to so because of the high glucose it the blood glucose goes up very high very fast of and so very quickly the brain says to

The pancreas quick release insulin so high insulin’s released to get the blood glucose levels down in but because the glucose levels were so high too much insulin’s released so now blood glucose levels are going too Low and there’s another hormone released by the pancreas it’s designed to get the blood glucose levels up again should you see insulin’s designed to get blood glucose levels down whereas glucagon’s designed to get blood glucose levels up him and it is in that way that God designed the pancreas to balance our

Blood glucose levels see God designed that we eat a balanced diet not a high carboh H carbohydrates are not bad it’s only when they’re overdone and refined that the problem arises but there is there is one grain that is particularly dangerous and that one grain is wheat

And the majority of foods on the high carbohydrate diet are made from wheat so now I’d like to show you why it is a problem it was in the 1950s that wheight was put through intensive crossbreeding you see they wanted to create a plant with a higher yield of

Grain to help with the starvation crisis in Mexico Africa India INX in Africa see when I was a little girl the weight used to grow that high have you noticed today didn’t grows that high and it’s got a thick stem well it’s the only way that that can hold the heavy yield of

Grain the in 1976 Dr Norman bag got a Nobel Prize for this hybridized Week Norman Norman it was rushed through with no safety studies on You see they didn’t think they had to do safety studies on wheat but as you will see by what I’m showing you it has caused a lot of problems so by the 1990s worldwide all of these foods are made out of the hybridized wheat and if you have a look at the

Explosion in diabetes you will find that it happened from here In the hybridization of the wheat a starch structure was created called amop now amop pcin a is a starch that gets the blood sugar level up very high very fast whenever you get a quick high you’re going to get a quick low let me give you something to compare

It to amop pcin B is found in bananas and potatoes am now that gets it up reasonably high but not as high as the amop amope and amop pectin C is found in lentils chickpeas lima beans blackey beans and that amop pcan c gives the lovely rise that our cells need lovely

Steady consistent sure delivery of fuel Now let me show you this on the glycemic index the glycemic index is a reading on how quickly the glucose in the food is released into the blood so Baseline for the glycemic index or reading is 55 so anything below 55 is considered low GI which is a steady consistently slower

Release of glucose from the food whereas anything above 55 is considered high gii which is quick release of glucose so cherries sit at about 26 in fact all the berries blackberries blueberri strawberries so the berries are a great fruit for diabetics because it’s a low delivery a slower delivery of

Glucose grapefruit it sits at 25 gra and that’s no surprise because grapefruit is not a real sweet fruit is it where does sugar sit this is uh cane sugar cane sugar sits at 59 whether it’s white or town or brown it sits at 59 so white bread it sits at

69 so white bread will get the blood sugar level up higher and quicker than sugar because of this amop pcin a that’s in the wheat whole grain whole grain wheat bread it sits at 72 how could this be because it’s not refined it has more amope a in

It one lady said to me this explains why every six months I get put on more insulin she says I eat whole grain bread whole grain cereal whole grain pasta and yet my blood sugar levels are going up this ex this solves the puzzle she said why wasn’t I told to stop

Wheat how much how I know in Australia Australian grows a lot of weight that’s a lot of money and the farmers love the hybridized we they’re getting sick six to eight times more grain per acre that’s that’s six to eight times more money per acre and the farmer’s got to pay his

Bills and he doesn’t know and he did not know that there was a problem with this wheat and do I eat wheat sometimes but if I had if I was a diabetic I wouldn’t touch it and if you’re feeling very concerned right now I’ve got some good

News your dinkle wheat has not been hybridized and I’ve noticed here in Germany every bread shop I go to they have the dinkle the dinkle bread so you can relax she can still eat bread but if someone wants to lose weight and if someone wants to conquer diabetes the wheat must stop

And I believe that this explains why in Australia 500 new diabetics are being diagnosed every day and this is in a nation that eat huge amounts of these Foods so that is one contributing factor to diabetes and it’s a big contributing factor there was no diabetes on the planet till sugar was refined

So definitely sugar plays a role and we’ve had young children do our program with Diabetes now I remember one lady in particular she was very large and she eats a bag of candies or lollies a day see what’s happening to the pancreas when this happens blood glucose goes up very high so the brain literally screams at the pancreas quick quick release a high insulin to get it

Down but too much insul was released so now it’s too low so the brain says oh no we’re too low stop the insulin release the glucagon but when the person down there they usually reach for a a Lolly or a candy or a cocacola to get it up

Again so now it’s up high again so the brain says oh no stop the glucagon release the insulin and eventually the pancreas is just worn out and it says I’m being overworked I’m not going to work anymore I’m done enough but what usually happens first is that

Insulin resistance sets up at the cell membrane the cell says we’re sick of the side of you we’ve got enough glucose in here the cell resists the insulin so the glucose can’t get in so the glucose can’t it stays in the blood and then the brain says we need more insulin and you

Get this vicious cycle and the body can’t maintain it can’t function with this high glucose in the blood so it spills it out into the urine diabetes mtis means sweet Urine there is always is a reason and many people today do not realize the role that wheat is playing in diabetes so let’s have a look at how we can turn this around and we’re going to use our uh our eight laws or eight doctors of Health to

Show how you can turn diabetes around we so we want a diet that is going to give a steady constant sure delivery of fuel not quick highs and quick clows what fiber does is it causes a nice slow release of nutrients so it does a diabetic well to

Find or to get a glycemic index chart so they can Target the low GI Foods banana is high index but berries are low so be simple is instead of bananas on your breakfast berries on your breakfast potato is high but sweet potato is low so it doesn’t mean the diabetic can’t eat a

Potato but instead of four potatoes they might have one potato and three pieces of sweet potato all legumes are low brown rice is low whereas white rice is high f r index they’re just a few illustrations of how you can do some adjustments in your food program to get low GI

Foods so why is the potato High and the sweet potato low it is revealed under a microscope scope that the fiber structure of white potato is loose quickly releasing the gluc and under microscope this fiber structuring sweet potato is tight which means slow release of Glucose and you will find the same with the bananas and the berries protein I so low GI proteins are again your legumes your nuts and your Seeds healthy fats what what these three food groups do they give this lovely steady sure delivery of Fuel and these three food groups all keep the food in the stomach longer it has always been said that diabetics should be eating every couple of hours you’ve heard that but the Tim restricted way of eating now is the most popular way of eating and if you Google Tim restricted

Eating and have a look at it you’ll find that it’s seeding twice in 24 hours 6 hours apart can you explain the first part I missed the first it’s eating twice in 24 hours 6 hours apart and this is very much the old saying we should eat breakfast like a

King lunch like a queen tea like a POA so nutritionists now have changed their Tune and I was very happy to discover this about four years ago now because this is what we’ve been doing for 25 years my husband and I have been running health Retreats for 25 Years and we’ve based the principles in our health Retreat on the writings of Ellen White and this this lady was the most and still no woman writer has equaled the amount of books she’s written and I noticed that the they have the book up there it’s called the ministry of healing and she suggested two meals a day if possible and we found and have found for

25 years in our health Retreat that diabetics go very well on two meals a day if the meal contains high fiber generous protein and healthy fats the person can easily go the six hours between meals and for that long stretch of about 18 hours they’re

Asleep so once again the age old uh ways have been proven to be the best uh see digestion it averages between 3 and a half to 4 hours and then the stomach loves a rest of one or two hours because even though the stomach’s empty the nutrients are being absorbed in the small

Intestine and that’s why when our stomachs empty we’re not fainting because we’re still getting nutrients in our small intestine on that the body can access the food much better when digestion isn’t interfere with so it’s not just the food that you’re eating it’s also the time when you’re eating it

What exercise does is it increases the amount of insulin recepto sites on the cell so let me show you we’re coming back to our cell and remember with the high glucose coming in insulin resistance began but when we start doing daily exercise especially doing some high

Intensity the cell starts to say we need more fuel this person’s really moving so extra recepto sites for insulin develop insulin resistance can be turned around in one week all we have to do is eliminate the wheat get those sugars right Down do some high intensity interval training which will cause the cell to develop more insulin recepto sites and it can be turned around incredibly fast So what is the best type of exercise it’s the high intensity interval training and these as the name implies are intervals of high intensity and intervals of recovery and it’s done for a cycle what the research is showing is we only need to do 30 seconds high intensity with a 90c recovery time

And this can be done for a cycle of six so we’ll do the maths on that we’ll be generous that’s 15 minutes a day that’s it everyone has 15 minutes if you don’t have 15 minutes it’s time to an assess to do an assessment of what you do with

Your so so what’s high intensity it can be walking very very fast I’ve noticed you don’t have many hills around here I was in Spain a couple of weeks ago and I was up in the hills and we did a climb up the cliffs so we weren’t walking fast and we

Weren’t running but we were certainly getting high intensity and recovery time is when you turn and look at the view and so it’s important to have that recovery time we were doing it this morning because we walked in the gardens around the castle and I had to keep stopping and taking pH

Photographs so that was recovery so this high intensity is the type of exercise that’s going to get those recepto sites for insulin developing on most of the research done on this has been done on the exercise bike and with the exercise bike you do you go as fast as you can and then

Recovery might be just slow cycling and after see we’re walking very fast on our morning walk and I said I said to Karen that um her legs are about 4 in taller than mine so I’m working very fast you’ve just got to find out what works

For you and how you can Implement that into your lifestyle but it has a powerful effect to turn diabetes Around water between meals is what will maintain your blood sugar levels between males and that little bit of Hall Salt just before the water and we touched on this yesterday the magnesiums that are in the whole salt pulls the water inside the cell and so water between Mills is very

Important in the maintaining of blood glucose levels and a lady said to me my little girl is eight and she has Type 1 diabetes we have to give her snacks and we don’t want to give her snacks cuz when we give her a snack all the other children want a snack

So I said try that Crystal of salt before the water between meals and the next day they came to me and they said it’s doing it it’s maintaining her blood sugar levels and this is eight glasses a day 25 kilo body weight one liter of water that’s a good rule of thumb and

It’s a good um guideline on how much children should be drinking now if you’re not drinking anywhere near that much water just start increasing it a little bit more every day sonan it’s a good idea when the Sun’s shining as it was yesterday to lie in the Sun

And let the sun touch your pancreas which is under your left rib the sunshine penetrates very deep and can stimulate life in the pancreas same with exercise it not only increases blood to the pancreas and the cell but as you walk the pancreas is being mass and the

The cells in the pancreas require vitamin D to function effectively and there are some things that must stop if you want to conquer diabetes caffeine causes an insulin response caffeine because when when a when a person takes a cup of coffee it causes a crisis response which means an insulin release

To get more glucose into the cell because it’s a CR all sugars must stop especially the refined but when someone’s got diabetes they you’ll find honey and maple syrup will also be a problem until the pancreas heels and I’m sure you’re not surprised to see that wheat should

Stop and remember your other grains are fine and your other grains being Ry and dinkle and Millet and kimoa all of these grains are fine alcohol is a very high sugar food and for more reasons than one it should be eliminated so getting back to our list there are some things that must

Stop if you’re looking for conquering diabetes and every cell in the body needs oxygen to function effectively let’s go back to our cell and have a look at that so when we’re getting adequate oxygen going into our body because we’re nose breathing and if we’ve got enough oxygen

Going in so that every cell can get down to the eight step pathway we’re going to be getting 18 times more energy by getting to that 36 energy pathway and our pancreas is made up of cells so the simple process of just breathing through the nose in and out

Using abdominal muscles means a higher quantity of oxygen in the cell now I’m sure I don’t have to remind you how much sleep we need remember God’s person perfect mathematical formula8 hours to sleep8 hours to work eight hours to play and exercise is play it is while we sleep in the night

That our pancreas is Reviving And the FL trust in God what we find and we get many people tell us this with people who are conquering their diabetes is implementing the these eight laws more oxygen in the cell a nice consistent delivery of fuel and so the purple aren’t getting the quick highs and the quick

Lows and what’s the mood like in some one who’s in a low is not a happy place to be and I’d like to suggest that when our blood glucose levels are working well and our brain is working well the place where mankind commun communicates with

God it becomes a lot easier to trust in God and remember when we looked at sleep all the negative emotions are they lie together and so when the blood glucose levels go down really low the person can start to think negativity negativity all the other negatives come up the these eight laws are

Intertwined one supports another and you may not be there yet but the good news is that God has promised that he will bless your efforts and that’s why no matter where you are or what’s happening in you right now the Bible says to thank God that’s first Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give

Thanks but I want to go back to the high intensity interval training for a moment interval training and I want to show you what happens specifically in the cell and this is a very powerful tool not only conquering diabetes but also in weight Loss so the glucose goes in and it goes through the step pathway that gives us two units of energy and the end result of the 20 step pathway is that chemical form of and then pyate gets fed into the eight step PA that gives us 30 six units of

Energy and the difference is oxygen and we’ve got these little glycogen stores quick release glucose stores and remember any excess is stored over as fast so let’s have a look at when we do the high intensity 20 step speeds up eight steps speeds up there’s not a surprise as a

But this 20 step pathway is very fast whereas the eight step pathway is quite slow and what happens is because both of these Pathways speed up there’s a rate setting enzyme in there that will always keep this one faster and this one slower so more pyate is being made than

Can be fed into the powerhouse and so because more pyruvate is being made than can be fed into the eight step pathway it’s stored as lactic acid and I’m sure we’ve all heard of lactic acid but in recovery time where you’re cycling slowly or maybe you’re looking at the view and

Just doing some stretches recovery time the lactic acid is converted back to pyruvate and fed into the PowerHouse that’s one of the reasons why this is such a powerful form of exercise so in recovery time you’re burning just as much fuel as when you’re running for your life and in recovery

Time all your lactic acid is being mopped Up so this is happening every recovery time now as we do our high intensity our glycogen stores are being plucked and fed through the pathway plucked fed through the pathway by the third set of high intensity we’ve run out of glycogen stores we’re running out of

Fuel and so now the body causes a release of the human growth hormone human hormone okay the human growth hormone is very active when we’re growing as children but the human growth hormone goes into retirement when we finish growing but in a crisis it’s released and the Brain says wow this

Person’s really moving and we’ve run out of fuel so what the human growth hormone does is it causes a release of hormone sensitive Li Li Li is a fat breaking enzyme enum it starts to release our stored fuel which is f the body stops burning glucose as fuel and it becomes a fat

Burner the reason is that glucose Burns at four calories per cine for whereas fat it burns at nine calories per gram what people don’t understand is what a calorie is a calorie is a unit of energy so fat is going to give more than twice the units of energy that glucose will give

Glucosa no wonder the body starts becoming a fat burner because it’s going to give twice the units of energy the human growth hormone increases the body’s ability to utilize protein and this is the human growth hormone increases the circulation of the blood to the skin hormone which means it slows down

Aging movie stars pay $1,000 a week for the human growth because of what it’ll do I’m offering it to you a cut price today 15 minutes of high-intensity interval training will cause a release of the human growth hormone that will remain active for 24 hours that’s why it’s considered to be

The most powerful form of exercise today and in the area of concrete diabetes and weight loss it’s an essential part of the program so on this program we get emails 6 weeks after the health program 10 kilos lost Now with a lot of ladies that or can also be a hormone Factor when they’re carrying excess Weight and the six o’ meeting tomorrow night will be looking at hormones in detail but I’d like to tell you about a young man named Dan who came to our retreat with type one diabetes and Dam was on 90 units of insulin a day he had got diabetes at the age of 15

After going on a heavy course of antibiotics the antibiotics had killed off the beta cells in his pancreas he said to me my doctor says that my pancreas is dead I said to him while blood’s going through the pancreas it’s alive and so what Dan did at our

Retreat he learned about the power of these eight doctors had we only gave him two meals a day actually the first two days he just had juices vegetable juices his blood glucose levels were were uh were dropping down quite fast because he was on too much see what the insulin

Did was it just allowed him to eat this diet and he said to me I I had no idea that this food was getting my blood glucose level so high and does that he didn’t realize that on top of his pancreas being damaged from the antibiotics he was further damaging it with these

Foods he he didn’t think that he could do anything because he thought his pancreas was dead so he basically had the attitude well so what I’ll just eat what I want but when a young 19 19y old man is on 90 units of inel in a day the future doesn’t look real good

So his parents had shouted him four weeks at Misty Mountain two weeks health program and two weeks helping in the garden but because we didn’t serve serve any of these foods and because he started to implement these eight laws of Health he was getting blood sugar level lows in the middle of the

Night so he told me later he’d just have a lolly because it’s what he’d been told to do that would get it up very high very fast but then it always came with the corresponding dump the second week he decided to have an apple instead of a lolly in the middle of the

Night and that would get his blood sugar level up but it takes a while to eat an apple in the middle of the night on the third week if you got a blood sugar level low he just jump out of bed and do 30 push-ups that would get his blood sugar levels

Up because that exercise caused a release of his glycogen stores and fat stores in fact he said to me why didn’t anyone tell me about my glycogen stores and Mone what an incredible body we have it’s already got the stores in there if we run out of glycogen we’ve got fat stores

But to be able to access them everything has to be in place by the end of the third week he was down to 10 units of insulin a day that’s type one diabetic was his pancreas dead it definitely Wasn’t he was going cautiously and I can appreciate that so he slowly bit by bit reduced his insulin and his body handled it very well so of course by the time he was down to only 10 units of insulin a day he was not having blood sugar level lows in the

Middle of the night Anymore 19-year-old man left our Retreat a very happy young man because he had proved that he could now manage his situation see the Bible says in Leviticus 1711 that the life of the flesh is in the blood the blood carries the oxygen the blood carries the water the blood carries the

Nutrients and the biggest mover of blood is exercise so we now once again get back to the laws of life oh the eight doctors that um as the writer says these are the true remedies and I have found in the 25 years that we’ve been running health Retreats with probably about 10,000

People going through our doors over those 25 years we have found that this is true and my aim was to show you that everything that we need is in our bodies and that you can do more for you than anyone else can and today is the first day of the rest of our

Lives these simple changes can have a profound effect tomorrow we our first lecture we’re going to be looking at depression and in our second lecture tomorrow night starting at 6 we’re going to be looking at hormone balance so I look forward to seeing you tomorrow good night [Applause] than
